Kierdale
All hail Slaanesh Typhus!!! Excellent conversion, and I'm glad that you went with the altwrnative axe idea. :tu: Thank you. And particularly thanks to you and the others who convinced me to tone it down and change it :) Noice! I wish I could do freehand that well- whenever I try it always goes horrendously wrong.Practice, practice, practice. I did the face for the biker's banner about ten times on a piece of paper until I had the jaw, nose and cheeks just how I wanted them and was able to repeat it well enough a few times, then I put paint to model. This time I think it was harder due to the folds of the cloak.I was scared I'd screw it up, but took my time and I'm happy with the result. Nearly done. Just a few more details, some cabling to add to that servo-arm, then decals. darkseren1ty
Though I'm not a fan of your color scheme (yes, I know it's thematic and fluffy, just not my cup of tea), your conversions and painting technique are pure masterclass. Your conversions in particular inspire my own. So, I just wanted to say... Thanks. Your conversions in particular inspire my own. So, I just wanted to say... Thanks. You're welcome :) And I fully understand that the colour scheme I use is not many's cup of tea. The rapier and crew are complete! Perhaps that's the helmet and skull of a Kierdale's shrineworlder on that backpack there... That completes my third vow and my activity for this year's ETL. Now I have to get my almost-finished raptors finished, do a handful more daemonettes, the three rhinos, the dreadclaw...some Eldar...and the Armies on Parade board... I'd best get to work. Evil Eye
Damn, now I want to build some Rapiers. They look like fun little models. Â I do love those figures you've painted, especially the "spotter" with his scope backpack. And those shoulderpads are to die for too! Midnightmare
They all look awesome mate! Where did you get the auspex/controller thingy? I have tried fitting the crew to the carriers but can't get them to look right, I think some sort of remote control like yours looks much better  Great work on the whole vow Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/287065-psychopomps-photos-before-farewell/page/26/#findComment-4448956 Share on other sites
Kierdale
Thanks. The servo-arm targeted backpack is from an old (perhaps OOP now) metal techmarine. It did have a servo arm and gripper atop it but I used that for my IG enginseer (the cairn wraith one). The actual targeter bit in the top is from the quad gun on the Aegis line. The small skull on a chain is from the Empire flagellants. His left arm is one of the tank crew both-arms-as-one-piece arms, and the remote control in his hand is the small scanner you get with FW legion autocannon sets. And the marine -both in fact- use to be my Scythes of the Emperor. Beachymike123
Those Rapiers Kier! They look sweet, and I love the use of bits too. They look amazing and make me think of adding some to my army now. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/287065-psychopomps-photos-before-farewell/page/26/#findComment-4449114 Share on other sites
BrotherJim
I'm really enjoying those rapier crewmen. More so as they were once imperials. Great use of colour and an all round smashing vow! Slaanbull
Beautiful rapier, and crew, they're gonna looks good scattered around the terrain in your deployment zone, the opponents will go mad with all the visual noise that is your army! Your freehand is always inspiring, good idea just practicing the same motif several times on a piece of paper, I've been trying to improve over all with different test pieces, but the repetition is a good idea for some of the more advanced and specific images, I'll have to try that out!Looking forward to seeing your rhinos! Augustus b'Raass
Beautiful work, Kierdale. Continuously impressive. What I greatly respect in your work is the lengths you go to make each and every piece you do stand out - even in your fabulous paint scheme - and your conversions. That spotter is brilliant. :tu: Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/287065-psychopomps-photos-before-farewell/page/26/#findComment-4449300 Share on other sites
Servant of Dante
As the Psychopomps are my favorite Slaaneshi warband, this thread made me want to ask: Â Do your Noise Marines know how to play this song? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hP_qc6BZ4g0 Â If you decide you don't want this here, just let me know and I'll take the video out . . . Iron-Daemon Forge
Rapier Artillery model looking really cool Kierdale, any plans on adding onto the unit? You'll really enjoy useing them in game, I'd also suggest keep a unit near by just support them from any deep striking units or any that get a bit to close.  As said you need to try get a whole army photo after ETL or later if your taken part in Call of Chaos this year? Be great to see a Renegade/Chaos Knight join the ranks of the Psychopomps :D Kierdale 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/287065-psychopomps-photos-before-farewell/page/26/#findComment-4449618 Share on other sites
Kierdale
Thanks for the comments. :) Â Servant of Dante, if you can hum it, I'm sure my noise marines can play it ;) And say, that's a nice bike. Â Insane Psychopath, I do plan to do a Chaos Knight, though actually a Khornate one enslaved by the Psychopomps. The knight itself will be red and brass, with bloodletters merged into its form, with a Slaaneshi Chaos shrine atop it, complete with cavorting Daemonettes. Perhaps it'll be my Xmas treat to myself. Â I currently have a few different projects for the 'pomps on my table. Photos soon I hope. Now I want to hear them do "The Battle Hymn of the Republic," or maybe Jeof Kelegal's 5th symphony of Divine Radiance (365.M34) (I'm ad-libbing here). Â I just think that Metal Meltdown simply screams Noise Marines (pun intended). Â And I generally associate that bike with Doomrider, since the title track of that album, "Painkiller", is generally considered to be Doomrider's theme song (after a little modification to the lyrics). Kierdale
I thought I was done with the ETL for this year but perhaps I have one last vow in me... One Herald of Slaanesh with one greater reward (the lash of despair) and the Locus of Beguilement (you'll see that in her base), from Codex: Chaos Daemons, for 95 points. The dark elf Wych models have one straight leg and one bent leg. I wondered what I could do if I gave a model two of one type of leg...a diving pose? Then I had an idea... From this pile of Guardian bits (and perhaps more) shall come her base, which will raise her above her sister Daemonettes and alluresses... And if you're interested, this is what came of the leftover bent legs. :D Servant of Dante and Res Ipsa Loquitur 2 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/287065-psychopomps-photos-before-farewell/page/26/#findComment-4452288 Share on other sites

Slaanbull
You're making me want to acquire the witch elf kit. For bits other than the awesome masks. :-) A psychopomps knight would be awesome! Especially an enslaved khornate type. I've been thinking about having a bunch of Slaanesh marines on some spare juggernauts I got, pins through the beasts' eyes and heads, defaced khorne symbols and runes of binding everywhere. :-) Â So.. Get to that knight and I can get some more inspiration! Kierdale
She has a left and a right leg! :D Some of the witches have straight right legs, others straight left legs. I simply took one of each. And yes, Slaanbull it's a fantastic kit, thought not cheap. I'm tempted to get a third box when I next go back to the UK (it being cheaper than buying them in Japan). Nice idea with those juggernauts :tu: I've also been working on my rhinos on and off and got the gunners done for two: The bullets on the helmet idea of the leftmost one is taken from the People Eater's driver in Mad Max: Fury Road. Kierdale
A bit of WIP on the herald. I got a lot done due to a day off today. ...however I realise I left off the backpack vane-thingies from one of the guardians. Will have to add them and paint them. Still a fair bit to do on the herald too. And I've been spraying two of the three rhinos. :tu: Servant of Dante, 1000 Sons, Pearson73 and 2 others 5 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/287065-psychopomps-photos-before-farewell/page/26/#findComment-4453785 Share on other sites
