Ho-hum, my original replies were lost in the server crash, but I'll try and remember what I said. :wink:

 

Excellent stuff! I really like the studded shoulder pad you've got there. Very inspiring!

 

Thank you. :smile.: The studded shoulders were original Terminator pads with the 'missing' corners filled in, and then studs painstakingly cut from a FW MkV pad and glued into place. The the whole pad was cast in resin. Very fiddly, but worth it in the end! :smile.:

 

 Like Him but give him a cigar to chomp on.

 

Haha, but then I'd have to illuminate it with an orange LED. :wink:

 

 

I know I'm a bit late to the party on this, but that's just damn cool. :cool.:

His arms are magnetised at the shoulder to allow weapon swaps, but as a by-product of this it also means he is poseable. I originally intended for him to be aiming his bolt pistol, but I think he might look better in this 'walking forward looking bad-ass' pose. :smile.:

The Sergeant's arms are magnetised at the shoulders to allow for weapon swaps. It also allows a limited degree of posability . :wink:

Regarding the muzzle flash, if you're referring to the angle that it's at then yes, that can be adjusted as it's just sitting over the LED and not glued in place. But if you mean can the Marine hold the whole gun higher then no, that's definitely a fix position now. :)

Hmmm, to be honest, I can't remember what I was referring to when I said I was 80% happy. In hindsight I think I would have preferred he was firing from the shoulder rather than the hip, but other than that I'm pretty pleased. :smile.:

 

Well this is certainly "illuminating" always wondered what the process would be to insert a bulb. Any chance of fiber optics instead of a led bulb??

 

Heh, I'm glad you've found it interesting. :smile.: Regarding fibre optics, I'm not too be honest. As the fibre doesn't generate the light itself but just carries it, I'd still need an LED somewhere on the model. So I find it a bit less fiddly to just put the LED where I want the light on the model, rather than concealing the LED somewhere else and running fibres to the point where the light is required. Also, as I mentioned previous when someone else asked, I don't think the angle at which the light would disperse from the end of the fibre would be suitable for the effects that require a wide angle of illumination, such as the muzzle flash.

 

So for the foreseeable future - unless someone shares a pro-fibre argument I haven't considered - no fibre optics in my models I'm afraid. :smile.:

On hearing the news of his brother’s betrayal, the blessed Primarch Rogal Dorn waxed wrothful. He came then to split his fleet, and the Fifth Company were among those dispatched to bring fraternal wrath down upon Horus and the treacher legions as part of the ill-starred Retribution Fleet.
As the violent events in the void around Phall reached their bitter climax - events which are described in detail elsewhere - the Fifth Company found themselves scattered across a number of vessels. Some were from their own Legion, some torn from the hands of their Iron aggressors. When the astropathic call came from the hearth-world to return, the Fifth Company joined the general withdrawal to the Empyrean. The bulk of the company eventually found the safe harbour of Terra and stood upon the walls of the Imperial Palace, where Captain Robertus ultimately met his fate.
But not all the ships of the Fifth Company made it to the shores of the Sol. Many came to be scattered far and wide, battered and abused like the mariners of Ancient Terra in a tempest. A portion of the company came with Alexis Polux to the shores of Ultramar, and the beacon of Imperium Secundus. It was here that great heros of the Legion like Letholdus of the Wall, Doran ‘Silvertounge’ and Peyton the Brute would win much renown...

For the rest of this week I'll be taking a look at some of the scattered elements of the Fifth Company that found themselves unexpectedly in the realm of Ultramar during the early years of the Heresy.
 


That's a shame. Just with finer optics yeah they carry light, but it would maybe give a bit more flexibility in posing the marines for the likes of weapon fire. Was really a basis in theory I guess

 

Well maybe I'll experiment with fibre one day, when I reach the limits of LED based posing. ;)

Tiburcio of the Fifth, Ancient of Stone

 

A dour and taciturn marksmen before his ascension to the eternal service of the Dreadnought, Tiburcio has barely spoken a word since his investiture in the iron sarcophagus. This led Chaplain Doran to observe requesting fire support from Tiburcio was like "requesting fire support from an ornate stone sepulture". Tiburcio was amongst the elements of the Fifth Company that washed up on the shores of Ultramar after the Battle of Phall.

Legion Termite Transport

 

Like all the Legions, the VII had an extensive pool of more esoteric vehicles beyond the familiar Rhino and Lander Raiders. The Termite tunnelling machine was designed to deliver a squad of Marines into the heart of the enemy from the most unexpected angle - underground! Termites were often used in lieu of Drop Pods when an aerial assault proved impossible, perhaps due to void shields protecting an enemy fortification against attack from above, or simply a lack of fleet assets to deliver them.

I repaired and slightly repainted my old Termite last night. As you can see from the photo above, the foam drill is attached to a small motor, enabling it to spin. I should probably take and upload a video at some point. :wink: It was originally built for the old Tempus Fugitives 'Age of the Emperor' rules set, where it had its own entry, but these days I'm more likely to use it as a counts-as Drop Pod. As it was originally built for a non-true scale Imperial Fists army it might possibly be a little small, but we can always assume the bulk of it is still underground. :wink:

 

Dread looks cool and not much hollowing out needed if I'm right

 

Yes, the Dread was pretty easy, although I had to extend the sarcophagus forward slightly to accommodate the diameter of the coin cell batteries I use.

'Iron Duke', Land Raider Proteus

 

At the outbreak of the Great Heresy the vehicle pool of the Imperial Fists' Fifth Company included a large number of Land Raiders of all designs, including the venerable Proteus. 'Iron Duke' - named for a mythic warlord of Ancient Terra - has carried the warriors of the VII Legion into battle since the earliest days of the Crusade.

It was the turn of one of my RT-era plastic Land Raiders to get a spruce-up last night. As it looks so similar to FW's Proteus Land Raider variant, that's what I'll be counting it as. :)

Great, great Stuff Mr. Hunk! I have followed silently here and over on Warseer, actually I have read every single PCRC thread there is to find. The Team Fisto Threads was one of the Reasons to finally start my own push for a 5th Company  Army.Your Campaigns are inspiring and pure awesomesauce, something to aim at for every Hobby Group. Can`t wait for your Guys to progress with your current Campaign, the lead in Battle was left me at the edge of my Seat!
