Who ever guessed that Thousand Sons would be the "daemon engine" faction.... go figure... Not that I object mind...

In the Ahriman books when Ahriman invades the Planet of the Sorcerers, the majority of their numbers are actually Daemon Engines. In 7th editon in seldom left home without two Maulerfiends to fly up the field and give my TSons some anti vehicle punch.

I've got 40 Tzaangors that I need to put together... and I'm thinking they're going to get a fair amount of table time. It'll be really hard to ignore a squad of 20 charging into an opponent's lines.

Just bought 20 goats and put them together. Just finished painting the first five. Boy, for a Cultists/Cannonfodder unit they sure take a lot of time to paint...! Anyway, don't forget that you can put 10 in a Rhino, drive them up the field and then assault with the Rhino (to tank overwatch) and the goats. You can even give the Rhino a Combi-Flamer to give them some close quarter fire support.

In the novel 'A Thousand Sons' they went to war with combat automata so why wouldn't they go to war with daemon engines now! In addition, a 5+ save rerolling ones is 38.9% vs 33.3% without the reroll as opposed to a 4+'s flat 50%. So it's better than a straight 5+, but it's really more like getting a +1 on a d20.

Ok so can actually someone confrim how they played All Is Dust rule? Did they add to all saves or to armour saves only?

All is Dust modifies Invulnerable Saves and Armor Saves, anyone arguing against this is someone you probably don't need to be playing. 40+ players in my store think this is pretty straightforward, and we only have 2 TS players.

Sorcerer lord Sinisia is a terminator clad madman of the Order of Ruin. He has spent the last ten thousand years stock piling mechanicum relics, and preparing for an attack on the imperial palace of terra and taking the corpse of the emperor to Tzeentch in return for curing his legion of the flesh change and rubric.

Sinisia's madness takes the form selective amnesia. At times he still believes his legion to be loyal and has on occasion helped, or sought help from legions that are loyal to the Imperium. Once angered or attacked he is a precise scalpel of rage and wrath that has destroyed countless enemies in orbit and on the ground.

Is that your own fluff or is he from some book? Sounds a bit too special snowflakey for me which always sets off my "fanfiction alert".

They sure can. At the end of any movement phase 9" from opponents.

Ninja'ed

Jaws of the wild wolf is crazy good though not as effective against slower units.

Oops scratch that. Target unit 18 inch away Roll 2d6 subtract movement take equivalent in mortal wounds. Wow that crazy good and against us our SOTs especially.

Be on the ready to deny that. Kind of insulting that SW do on average better mortal wounds than infernal gaze. And Russ was sooooo against the use of Psychers at the council of Nikea, lol.

I can't figure out when you'd go Forge Fiend over Predator. Difference of very few points between ectoplasma Fiend and a Disco Pred.

Any ideas out there? Only think I can think of is the invuln?

#Whynotboth?

Id take either or, the dakka fiend and the disco pred are both good. Id be tempted to run both.

Remember the dorks on fenris don't have psykers that get there power from the warp, their power comes from fenris and the spirit of Christmas.

Whew.... just finished painting my 20th close combat goat. I am waiting on 10 more goat bodies in the mail,to do 10 more pistol/sword variants.

I've been very pro Tzaangor in 7th and that has continued in 8th. I really do hope they work as well as I feel the will or I'm just going to end up with a rather sizeable petting zoo on the Planet of Sorcs!

I totally agree with the wolves getting the best psychic toy with 'Jaws'... at least they aren't likely to spam more than a sorcerer or two with the new 'rule of one'. Deny that sucker and I would probably recommend using a strategem on particularly devastating rolls.

Not going to lie, Space wolves and Death Guard having better  is something which has dampened my enthusiasm for 8th.

Plus and DG have a good protections against perils.

Meh, we get +2 to our denying rolls with Magnus or a lord of Change, and can spam things from our two disciplines in addition to the various versions of smite. They might have the coolest toy, but we're better at using ours and can toss dozens of them at the puppies. A future codex supplement is very likely to improve on this too, so I think we're in a good place.

I'm an Ahrimanite, my lists have always been sorcerers  over Ahriman, I'll never use him :P
It's more the issues are basic sorcerers/exalted sorcerers have, I know it will hopefully be solved by a proper book, but t stings how they gave DG (who supposedly hated psykers at Nikea) and others get their own lores, yet we don't, especially when historically pyschic powers are how we have buffed/debuffed our untis to actually function and deal with what the inferno boltguns can't.

Ahriman can still add 1 to his deny or manifesting rolls, so you have that at least. Yeah, I see what you mean, but I apply my corvidae training and see this as a sign that they will likely give us a supplement quite quickly, and they have to save a few significant changes for that to make us all giddy with excitement.

Actually I have a kinda bad feeling for TSons. They just got their new rules at the end of 7th so I can easily see GW putting them aside for a while to release new stuff for other factions.

I'm no TSons player so it doesn't affect me directly but I really like TSons so I still feel pretty sad about that possibility.
