Hey folks, progress is slowly being made with the tacticals; a sergeant and melta-gunner are complete barring basing and decals.

@hushrong - thanks for the kind words, the mould lines will be removed imminently!

As ever, thanks for looking.

Hey folks, finally got another demi-tactical squad complete, the next should be done soon(ish)...

Squad:

Sergeant: Combat Specialist: Purity Seals:

I'm not 100% satisfied with these guys, but progress must be made!

As ever, thanks for looking, all comments are greatly appreciated.

Hi folks, more content will be uploaded soon, however for now I have a question: How much Khorne detailing do the new Bloodreavers have? I need around twenty close combat equipped noise marines and am considering kitbashing the reavers with regular chaos marines. Is this feasible, or is there just too much Khorne?

Hi folks, finished this half of the tactical squad (finally):

Squad:

Individual:

sml_gallery_71441_9958_72808.jpgsml_gallery_71441_9958_28900.jpgsml_gallery_71441_9958_22849.jpgsml_gallery_71441_9958_51188.jpgsml_gallery_71441_9958_60214.jpg

Unfortunately, I ran out of tactical transfers on this squad, this gave me the chance to practise some freehand...

med_gallery_71441_9958_103814.jpg

I finally made a decision on my chapter symbol. As sons of Dorn, I thought this was only appropriate:

As ever, thanks for looking, please comment below!

@hushrong: Thank you brother, I've vowed not to buy any more squads until everything I have is painted, so I'm steaming ahead! I use washes over all my basecoats, but I think this is hidden by my poor photography skills. Highlight-wise, I've never really tried them before, so perhaps I'll shoot over to the tutorial section for some inspiration.

I've started another small squad, so here they are, very wip:

med_gallery_71441_9958_36792.jpg

med_gallery_71441_9958_89392.jpg

Should get some more work done soon and they'll be done within the week.

As ever, thanks for looking, all comments appreciated.

Hey folks, coursework and uni interviews have been delaying progress, but the squad is nearly done. I've been experimenting with different backdrops to improve the detail and depth of colour in my photography, I'd be grateful for any tips.

Sergeant:

(White Backdrop):

Regular Marine:

After this squad's done, I'll be moving back to the traitorous Warriors of Mayhem. So watch this space, worshippers of the dark gods...

As ever, all comments and criticism are greatly appreciated.

Back drop is alright but I think another source of light will do the trick. It looks like the light source is above and behind them which casts a shadow blocking out some of the front detail.

Progress is also looking good! Keep them coming. Also, I wouldn't say the Warriors of Mayhem are traitorous as I think they are simply more enlightened to the truth ;)

Thanks for the tips, @hushrong tried a different background with a bit more light on the now complete tacticals:

As ever, thanks for looking folks, I should be posting some disciples of the Dark Prince by the night's end...

Hey folks, as mentioned it is now time for the scions of the Dark Prince to return. No war-band is complete without its armour, and every armoury needs its overseer. As such, I present Bukavac Shaa, warpsmith of the Warriors of Mayhem:

med_gallery_71441_9972_4496.jpg

med_gallery_71441_9972_25587.jpg

As can be seen he consists of a large quantity of Blutack, I wanted to review everyone's thoughts before committing to gluing.

Thanks for looking, feel free to comment and critique below!

Hey folks, progress has been made, with the base colours laid down:

Servos (finished):

Head:

@hushrong: Thanks for the comment, I know my photography skills and interest have definitely increased due to the hobby. The body and backpack are indeed third party - Evil Craft. I've started cannibalising the chosen that I never finished (see the earlier pages of the log).

Thanks for looking, all critique welcome!

All components of Shaa are complete, all that remains is to put everything together and shape any visible greenstuff into fleshy growths...

Axe:

Pistol:

Merry Christmas folks!

Reinforcements arrived for the Warriors of Mayhem:

++EDIT++

***********************************************************************************

Epistolary Amaimon looked out from the monastery’s tower; all around, the blasphemous forces of Chaos launched assault after assault on the walls. Many marines of the …… chapter stood tall against the perverted daemon worshippers, though many more had fallen beneath their blades and the crushing force of their sonic weaponry. The soldiers of the PDF had fought well, for humans, though they were only humans and had died in droves before the traitor’s onslaught. Bolt rounds exploded with dull thuds against the walls and the crude stub ammunition of the enemy’s auxiliaries ricocheted harmlessly from the battlements…

…Amaimon was the only one left alive; the other members of the Librarius sent to protect the ancient tomes within the monastery’s library lay dead around him. Thick arterial blood coated the walls where the daemons of the warp had torn through the walls into reality, tearing the Astartes asunder. The Librarius had gathered in an attempt to divine the enemy’s intentions – the screaming hordes had retreated at daybreak, just as they were on the edge of victory. Many breaches had been made in the walls and few would have resisted a renewed assault. Amaimon had sensed the daemons a fraction of a second before his comrades, looking through the eyes of his spirit, he could see warped claws rip gashes in the veils of reality. He returned to his body an instant before the Astartes around him were torn into bloody oblivion; whispers of madness whirled through his mind and cold claws caressed his face gently, almost lovingly…

Such power. He had never felt such power, he crushed the wretched psykers of the enemy, almost before they registered his presence; their terror only fed his desire to destroy. Amaimon and his bodyguard surveyed the battlefield, the five stalwart veterans had been assigned to protect him as the last surviving member of the Librarius. They watched impassively as their charge reached out with his mind and smote the heathen witches of the enemy. Only when he staggered and fell did they react to his mumbled incantations: a feral scream erupted from the battle below as a foul daemon strode through the ranks of the traitors, even the sight of such a being disorientated the mind and weakened the resolve. The beast stood still and moved its elongated head from side to side, a forked tongue flickered as it sniffed the air. Finally, having acquired the scent of its prey, the daemon turned to look up at the tower that overlooked the monastery.

“The taste of terror is exquisite, is it not?” The daemon’s sibilant voice whispered in Amaimon’s mind.

“The power to crush all those before you lies in your mind, dear mortal…”

The ragged remnants of the Astartes task force slumped to the ground as the traitors retreated in disarray; the assault had collapsed the instant the daemon had disappeared, winking out of existence in a flash of searing light...

The bolter bucked in his fist as he charged towards the Astartes sergeant, the fool raised his blade, screaming at the foul heresy that assailed him; Amaimon carved through his flesh, his claws ran with the blood of his brothers, beside him, brother Aurlock tore out the throat of another marine, drinking the hot blood that spilled forth. “For the Emperor” mocked Amaimon, daubing the Aquila that adorned Aurlock’s chest with bloody symbols of arcane power. The daemon within them writhed with pleasure…

***********************************************************************************

And so I present Amaimon, daemon sorcerer of the Warriors of Mayhem (better photos will be provided at a later date):

med_gallery_71441_9972_57731.jpgmed_gallery_71441_9972_11941.jpg

His previous chapter is as of yet undecided, so please feel free to suggest any candidates.

Thanks for looking!

Good looking sorcerer you've got there!

If I could make a suggestion what about the Black Templar? It looks like he has the front piece of one.

It is a crazy idea but a good story could make it work. Perhaps during some titanic battle against a daemon army he became corrupted. The rest can build up from there.

Hey folks, I must say, the possessed kit has some absolutely smashing parts and I'd wholeheartedly recommend it.

As you'll have guessed today I'm bringing you my new possessed:

Aurlock, the Anointed:

med_gallery_71441_9972_35240.jpg

Aleksanteri, the Noble:

med_gallery_71441_9972_22385.jpg

Caratch, the Torn:

med_gallery_71441_9972_21375.jpg

More will be on the way soon, I've decided that the original chapter for Amaimon, and perhaps the other possessed, will be the Grey Knights.

Thanks for looking, feel free to comment and critique below!

Not a real update, but Amaimon and his possessed have been primed during a gap in the abysmal weather we're having. I've decided to paint them as grey knights, so silver with a blue wash, with some red and gold detailing.

Happy New Year!
