Sounds like an interesting project

It's certainly shaping up to be. I don't like the aesthetic (or price) of the FW earthshaker carriage for this army; I had the tracks spare, and I can use the chimera chassis from the basilisk kit as a salamander. The real work is going to be using plasticard to create the undercarriage and support structure, I can imagine that could give me some trouble.

A bit of hobby progress today.

And a start on a second volkite culverin grenadier:

I have started work on an earthshaker carriage conversion for the militia.

It's ambitious, taking the track units of a taurox and lots of plasticard, I plan to put the platform from the basilisk on top of these.

Sounds like it'll be a cool conversion when it's done (I have images of railway cannon in my head for some reason )

Thanks, it's coming along well enough, plenty of plasticard shavings on the desk now. I hadn't built it with the railway gun in mind but I can totally see that.

More work has been done on the earthshaker carriage.

It's coming along quite nicely I think, Not pictured are the tow hooks on the front, underneath the gun, I'll try nab a photo of it from that angle later.

Neat idea - but I would prop up the front some as it kind of slopes towards the front which doesn't seem ideal for a stable gun platform.

That's not as pronounced in person but it's also for an imperial militia list so it's not necessarily going to be fully up to standard

I picked up the FW terminator praetor for my Alpha Legion a while back and finally got him assembled.

I really like this model and will be painting him in a metallic scheme to go alongside the Lerneans.

Good work so far!!! The Basilisk looks fantastic!

Thanks, I'm very happy with how it turned out, it's not actually all that complicated to put together; just put the platform on the taurox tracks and use plasticard to cover up gaps

I have managed to get a bit of painting done on a Land Raider Phobos to cart around my cataphractii terminators:

I like the aesthetic of this tank and it goes really well with the Mars pattern rhino chassis vehicles I have for my Iron Hands, but it is an old kit and it shows during assembly. With the Proteus now in plastic I might get one of those for the Gorgons.

I am slowly working my way through a baneblade for the militia:

There are plenty of gaps to be filled on this but nothing a little greenstuff won't handle. The downside of this being an older kit is that the parts don't fit as snugly as they would on newer kit.

I have finally managed to finish off the Baneblade for the militia.

In the end there weren't as many gaps as anticipated and it was overall pretty painless after the side scaffolding was done.

I got another jetbike chosen finished for the IH command squad. This time with a powerfist.

I just need to affix the combat shield and then he'll be completely done.

I have managed to get some painting done and the Land Raider for my Cataphractii terminators is done (at least for the moment while I move on to more pressing pieces of the pile of shame):

Edit: I will try to post a shot with the hatch and lascannons included in the next few days, I forgot to nab one.

Some great work there, you cannot go wrong with a Baneblade or Land Raider. They are looking good.

Thanks, I do love the look of them and the Raider is great when painted, might be a while for the Baneblade though.

No worries, I am sure the Baneblade will be worth the wait and that Land Raider will be awesome.

I have finished off painting the Land raider phobos for my Cataphractii Terminators:

I have also made a start on the Sicaran Battle Tank:

Once these are done, I will move onto the Predator and the remaining Rhino before tackling the infantry (some of whom are fully painted).

I couldn't resist picking up the new Solar Auxilia Leman Russ when it came out in plastic (plus I will be able to see how compatible the Anvil Gothic Void heads are with SA plastic bodies):

It is a bit further along than this but I don't have any photos.

I really like the build experience so far, everything slots together so neatly which is nice. I will be making this one a Vanquisher but will also magnetise the hull weapons for a bit of flexibility.
