Got some WIP pics to show. The Astropath is 100% base coated. I think I am going to leave everything that is black, just as it is in the final mini. I really like how the pitch black sits next to the red (it feels like the void). I might do a little star pattern on the black underside of his... er, skirt I guess, just to give him more of the void feel.

I'm still trying to figure out what colors I want, and where on Greyfax (aka Inquisitor Bladeau). I am thinking that the skull (knees and one shoulder) are all going to be silver and her other shoulder pad black with some freehand symbol on it. I also want a traditional brown hat (like in the good ol' days when Witch Hunters wore hats made of leather).

Good progress, I'm looking forward to seeing Greyfax finished in particular

She's been a fun one to paint. It makes me really excited about the upcoming Sisters Range   GW has finally done girls well.

I'm basing my Greyfax's color scheme on this picture.

The vehicles are turning out really nice. That weathering compound really looks good. Is it hard to apply?

That female Inquisitor is looking good to. Round 3 seems to be the time for female Inquisitors (I think we have three).

Ok so had a 'mare with the sword so chopped it off and gave her a power fist off one of my old SM captains. Also changed her head to one that looks less like a middle aged single mother haha.

Calling her done here and back onto the tanks.

Vow complete. Fun model, wish I had built it mydelf, but a lot of my guard are inherited. The front shot is not all the way up to date, forgot to take one post muddying of the treads.

The Banehammer known as Anvil of Kaelos Was originally spotted around Cadia fighting Traitor legions and heretics in several regions throughout a ten year period. During this time the superheavy was repeatedly damaged, often thought beyond repair. However, much to the astonishment of the tech priests set to administer to the vehicle, they found the Machine spirit particularly stubborn and unwilling to retire. Several long refits and repairs over the years have kept the vehicle (rumored to have been in service for over 300 years) operating. After a particularly long offworld campaign saw over 97% attrition to the Cadian regiment that was attached to the Anvil, the vehicle and it's crew was rescued by a small contingent of the Salamanders and their Firestorm allies. Upon the offer to join the ranks of the Sentinels, the crew of the Anvil readily accepted. As far as the Cadian officers know it's just another lost piece of equipment in the long war to protect humanity.

Now the Anvil of Kaelos supports the Firestorm Sentinels whenever a traitor threat is faced. It's machine spirit showing particular scorn for the Daemons that killed it's original battalion. Several times the tank has been seen to shrug off what should be a disabling or destroying blow through the slightest turn, or dodge that the crew should be unable to enact alone. Clearly the Anvil has a axe to grind still.....

++

O: Captain, are these your men?

S: Yes Sir! Fine looking bunch aren't they?

O: Well...yes...quite...... Now look here Captain, I know we give you Savlar boys a fair bit of leeway with the... acquisition of equipment, but generally it's only AFTER THE BATTLE!!

S: I'm not sure I follow you Sir.

O: THAT TANK RIGHT THERE!

S: Which one Sir?

O: DON'T TOY WITH ME CAPTAIN! That Leman Russ right there that has clearly been stolen from a Cadian Regiment!!

S: Which...oh, no Sir, that's not stolen, that's one of ours.

O: It's clearly had the Cadian iconography covered with crude writing!!

S: Ah! No, that's not crude writing Sir, that a new tactic we've been working on.

O: What?

S: We're heading into a city that's in open rebellion against The Imperium. From my experience rebel cities tend to be covered in graffiti, so this, is our camouflage!

O: What do you take me for, Captain?

S: No Sir, this is The Savlar Pattern Urban Camouflage Mk I!

O: It's....WHAT?

S: Urban camouflage Sir! We've been working on it for a while, we're not sure yet, but we're hoping to see good results!

O: Well then, why is the main hull painted in Cadian colours?

S: Oh, well... that was the only colours we could...requisition through the...usual channels.

O: Hmm, Are you really trying to tell me this ridiculous paint job is not a cover up?

S: Of course not Sir! I can see where the confusion comes from Sir, but I swear to The Emperor, everything is above board.

O: Hmmm, I'm keeping my eye on you Captain.

S: As you wish Sir!

I have made some progress. First picture is slightly older, I got tired of working on the Chimera and opted to concentrate on the warband a bit after I got that far. Still, a productive weekend as I even got some packing done :biggrin.: Will come back to Greyfax later, same as Hod I need to figure out her paint scheme! Really enjoyed starting on the space ook, though I guess mostly as I wasn't painting red or grey for once :tongue.:

Edit: just noticed the Multilaser on the Chimera! It's magnetised and I am painting the Heavy Flamer too I promise

@arkaniss. Is the chimera going to be black? Or are you doing some camo on it?

Not black - that's Skavenblight Dinge, you can just see the difference on the grainy picture as the tracks still are black. I've rambled about it often enough but it's my go-to paint for when I don't actually want straight black. It's a very nice dark grey :)

I feel like I am being a bit slow looking at all the others work :(

Unfortunately I have been lax in my dedication to the forces of The Emperor this week as I got distracted with a much bigger model for one of my other armies (Tau - cough cough)...

I only managed to make a start on the robes but he should be complete by the end of next week

Wow, there's a lot of great work going on here. The armor coming online is particularly impressive.

@GKT: Nice use of powders. What is your usual technique for fixing the powders to the vehicle?

...and lest you think the Adeptus Mechanicus has gone into hibernation, so work in progress shots. So lots of base coating, washes, and layering going on right now.

First off, the Enginseer, aka Elephant Man

Servitors (the little engines who could)

gallery_15184_710_688278.jpg

Death Cult Assassin ("I'm going to be a pain to transport")

gallery_15184_710_367502.jpg

Arco-flagellants ("Don't ever call me Sparky!")

gallery_15184_710_676609.jpg

Jokaero ("Do look like I'm joking to you?")

Once I get them settled on the foundation and basecoat work, then I can start some detailing.

Cheers,

Wow, some really great stuff coming along. I need to get myself into gear.

Honda: I really like how the archo flagellants turned out as well as the Jokaero. What kits do you put together to do the archo flagellants? Is that all FW stuff?

@Honda to fix the powders, I found it is really simple, the first trick is to not put your weathering down in too heavy of layers. Then in between each layer of weathering I put a quick spray of Mr. Hobby matte varnish, it dries almost instantly and I just keep on weathering.

The second trick is more involved, where I seal the model first then weather, sealing it often. This can make the model look a bit sloppy if you are not careful, so I try to use the above method more.

Looking good everyone, keep going!
