Had a few dramas uploading, but here's another corrupted Apothecary, didn't get him done during the last tale!

I'll get some better pics but i'm currently away from home in daylight hours, so photo's don't look great!

 

As this month is Re-arm, re-load. I shall be concentrating on stuff i've grown to dislike because I painted them before i'd honed my pink recipe or I feel the painting could be better. I've been tinkering with these on and off the last few weeks.

 

1st - My little Apothecary diorama I did last year, wasn't happy with the white on the torso, or indeed the magenta of the dead marine.

 

2nd - My Rhino, whilst I love the paint job, the shade is now distinctly off the rest of the force, I recon a few strategic glazes and a light airbus should fix this!

 

if this goes well, I have also aquired a nice World Eaters storm eagle thats just begging to be painted pink.....

Month 2 Update 1

This month I shall vow to complete 1 predator tank, 1 obliterator, 1 Warpsmith and 5 Chaos Marines for the invading Iron Warriors!

The predator was originally for my loyalist marines but as I took a change of direction in them it has been donated to my Iron Warriors.

I vow to Rearm my grenadiers with one plasma gun, one hot-shot volley gun, and a vox caster. I will also vow one Intercessor Primaris marine.

Iam back from the land of no internet! So I will be going through and posting the results of month one by the end of the day. I had hoped todo it yesterday but I walked in from work and after eating a bit of food, I went to bed and slept for 11 hours! Yay first day off in a month!

JUNE-JULY 2017 CHALLENGE UPDATE.

 

 

Sorry for the delays of getting this month over. Hopefully this will be the only delay that we have.

 

First let me explain what the plan for this month..

 

The theme is Rearm and Replace. With the arrival of 8th edition and the first few weeks of gaming under our belts, it will be time to look to our already painted models and make alterations. As such for the event month in July let’s focus on these projects.

*Rules Change* is in effect for weeks of 15/7/17 - 14/8/17. It doesn’t matter what the stage of the model is at the start of the month. Providing that the model is being converted and new parts the paint job is fixed. This can also include re-basing of units.

I will by the end of the month revisit the rules for Achievements. I have been having a bit of writers block in this regard.

 

Now as for the results of last month.

First up the following individuals did not make a vow in the allotted time and as such are out of the event:

So kicking on a bit. I dulled down the armour with a few washes and began blocking in basic colours to get a feel for the models.

Still a little tidying to do

 

The big question just now is: Do I go with the bronze plate on the back packs and steel rims on the shoulder pads, or do I go with a dark metal plate on the back pack and gold rims on the shoulder pads like the seekers?

More or less recovered from my mononucleosis and got my figures back now, so since I've been granted a second chance I will post my vow for this month tomorrow. Need some natural light for the photos.

Really like them bases Trixie - I looked at those rolling pins and didnt think they would turn out so good. You have changed my mind and i think i might have to get one or 2

Okay so, second attempt at making this work. Hopefully no debilitating illness strikes me for a full month this time...

 

I, Ancient Terror (née Scared to Death), pledge to finish the pictured first half of a veteran tactical squads (4 bolter marines and 1 plasma gunner), as well as a cataphractii delegatus - all for my Heresy-era Word Bearers. I would love to pledge the chaplain in the picture as well, but as he's had an unfortunate encounter with a basecoat that turned out to be full of dried clumps (yuck!), I'm now trying to strip him and will first see if he sheds the paint or dissolves into goo. Unfortunately, he's not intended to be a Nurgle worshipper or the effect might even have been desirable...

 

 

As an additional sort-of-not-really pledge, I will get a proper daylight lamp so the picture quality for the finished squad isn't as terrible (and so I can actually see what I'm painting), and write up some fluff for my Word Bearers chapter delineating what warp-fuelled shenanigans they're up to in the 500 worlds.

Very quick Vow 2, away on holiday in the morning so wont be any work done on these for a few weeks.

So this is a termi squad I did for the ETL two years ago but since then have really gone off the paint scheme for being a bit too cartoonish so going to try and darken tee guys up by adding some dark grey panels to them and touching up a few details.

Then I have these Chaos Marines I started painting these around the end of last summer but then the got kind of forgotten about on the painting desk, so the aim is to basically just get them finished and based.
