Starting to look quite ugly on the eastern front.

Looks like Varvost should finish off his opponent and be free to head in support of Akkad and Sabaan - if those two wounded warriors can be finished off it'll be four on three. Atratus could leap clear to pillar three to support that flank but it leaves pillar 1 untouched.

Perhaps Ghent or one of the other central marines can draw the attention of the north-east warriors with bolter fire, hopefully freeing up the heavy bolter ?

I have a plan, but it depends on consensus.

My proposal is as follows:

Squad Mode

Bolter Assault

Weather attacks of opportunity (they still need to hit, but it's only one each, although I can't dodge on my turn).

Take Sabaan with me

Fall back towards Greysight

Bolt Pistol Nid F

Sabaan Bolters Nid F/S/R

Then the HB is free.  Do you guys want me to shoot at the pillars (any), or (hopefully) uzi the Nids R and E as they're within split fire range?

If the former, what are my numbers @Mol?

Cunning Plan

You can assume that Sabaan will go along with whatever you choose - so if you want to do the Bolter Assault, you're free to do so.

In terms of shooting the pillars, assume they have 50 wounds and Armour 10.

Bolter assault is a solid squad mode to have points invested in. Once they are spent anyone in squad mode can gain the benefits for the rest of the combat (as per rites of battle 226) - free moves and single shots for the rest of the fight.

May even be worth throwing furious charge into the mix at some point as it'll give everyone in squad mode a bonus attack (with re-rolls on damage) in close combat.

Thanks Mol, much appreciated :)

Agreed, but we must regroup to get this machine working.

I should have my post up before tomorrow as I'm juggling time today.

I guess that depends on how we are running the squad rules - whether only those in squad mode/range when it is activated can continue to gain the benefit, or if the benefits apply to everyone once they re-enter squad mode at some point in the future.

I will re-read the Rites of Battle rules - I looked at the Bolter Assault earlier and it does say that those within support range of the Marine calling for it benefit.

Perhaps the best ruling is that once the cohesion is spent any Brother can call for a Bolter Assault, but only those in support range can participate?

Updated through to Montesa. I'm at work and can't put together a map, but it should be relatively clear the situation you are each in. If you want to get posts in feel free, and I will continue updating into Round 6. Edited by Commissar Molotov

Nineswords:

Free Action: Activate Feat of Strength (increasing Unnatural Strength from (2) to (3))

Half Action: Aim(+10)

Half Action: Standard Attack with Combat Knife against Tyranid Warrior U

WS43(+10 Hunter of Aliens)(+10 Aim)(+20 Size) = WS83: 47 (HIT)

Tyranid Warrior U attempts to Dodge with AG44: 73 (FAIL)

Combat Knife does 1D10(+12 Modified Strength Bonus)(+2 Hunter of Aliens): 3

FATE POINT RE-ROLL: 9 (23 Damage)

Tyranid Warrior U has TB10 and Armour 10(8): 5 Damage Sustained (38 Damage Total)

So this is how it feels when creators hand off their characters to another author / artist... :p

But in all honesty, couldn’t wish for Sabaan to be in better hands! Go Team Akkad!!

Also, Mazer: I couldn't see a way to get Akkad's charge move to 20m; he has AG4(+1 due to his Armour), making his Charge 15m. Am I missing something?

No Mol, your GM'ing is on point - that's my bad, 15m is correct.  I couldn't remember the distance off the top of my head.  I recognise my error and will endeavour to correct it. :smile.:  I was just juggling so much yesterday it took me four attempts to get my syntax straight never mind anything else!

Just doing my best to keep you all alive!

See my comments above... :tongue.:

TYPOS! BLAM!

Yeah, the Warriors have really put a dent in you guys's damage output...

Noctus has asked me to run Montesa for a while so once I've got updates from A.T. and Mazer I should be able to do most of the round. (Plus any other players who want to let me know their actions...)

yea... but that is what the Krark Missles and Heavy Bolter are for...

Edit:

oof... next turn is going to be a fate point to heal I think.

I've got almost the whole of Round Six written up, bar Akkad and Atratus's actions. Once I have it all together I should be able to get us through the round relatively swiftly.

Akkad once again ignores common sense.

Interesting note - My FAB attack roll was 007, and I was listening to a Bond Soundtrack at the time. ;)

MR.

Update posted. Atratus will get into attack position on the final pillar and should (with boosted strength) be able to hack it up in a round or two. The north-west pillar is also mined with kraks, frags, a clip of bolt ammo, and whatever else Atratus had in his pockets that he thought might help.

Won't leave you hanging out to dry, AT

Atratus is having a pretty smooth time of it so far, just wish i'd spent less on ammo and more on melta bombs :p. Four chainsword attacks per round should get the job done though, and then it'll be time for a belated cavalry charge.

Speaking of which the entire south patch is mined with hopper grenades - if anyone needs to fall back then any enemies moving south of pillar 9 are in for a bad time.

Er, do we have anyone with Demolition, you know, like I BEGGED for? :p

Good call on the hopper mines.  We could fall back there whilst whittling the Tyrant Guard down...
