Work on my Kratos continues, magnatised the hull weapons now just waiting on greenstuff to dry (may take a while) before working on the turret weapons. I think the sponson weapons will be next (should be fairly easy) then got to work out the pintle weapons out...

Spoiler

I’ve reached sort of a milestone: some finished units. A tactical squad, contemptor and predator are now ready for action. plenty more stuff is WIP

Awesome-looking force! What's the predator turret weapon?

Why  all the green stuff brother?

Finally got my Dreadclaws and Kharybdis kitbashing done; Iron Warriors like to use fortifications as parts :D

Just need the mecha-sphincter-door for the Kharybdis, but I think I can cobble together some drop pod doors for that.  Next stop, primer!  Then Angel's Wrath.

Thanks. It’s my version of a Magna Melta. I’ve made it out of assorted cut up bits of stormhawk, an AT fuel tank cut in half and some, tube and green stuff.

it’s very hard to photograph black but here are a couple of closer pics of the thing. In reality the shading is fairly subtle.

thr melta design is meant to be a bit like the AT reaver’s one. I imagine the Ravenguard sticking a shroud thing over their melta to improve the tank’s stealth capabilities vs heat detection.

Not only have I somehow managed to put a magnet in one of my sponsons the wrong way around (must have flipped as I was dry fitting it, I checked 3 times to make sure it was the right way around) I have knocked over my packet of mangets and out of the 53 that were in the packet I've only found 29, leaving 24 in my room somewhere. Thankfully the first lot were all stuck together but I cannot for the life of my find the other lot despite looking for over an hour.

I've only just begun magnatising things and already I hate it.

I feel your pain, my friend. Even one missing magnet is a worry.

My tip is to get a metal ruler, maybe 60cm if you can, and sweep the floor with it. It should collect the magnets that can’t easily be seen, without causing too much danger of flying and cracking magnets.

Also LameBeard’s first law of looking for Hobby bits on the floor: they are never where you dropped them. Start looking the *other* side of the room. Amazing how many grenades I have lost but then found over the years using this rule - especially since my wife seems to like rugs and tiles in a shade curiously close to GW plastic.

I've got a thin metal sign which I'll use tomorrow as I slowly work my way through my room, taking as much out as I can.... Joys.... In anycase, I think I'm going to take a break from magnets for a while incase I just decide to break everything on my desk in a rage that would make Angron whimper.

Did a couple of test models for Thousand Sons. Main thing here was to try and get them as different as possible from the Word Bearers I already painted (on right).

According to the The Solar War, Ahriman wears bone trim armour, and the transfers are white, so I went with that. It's a galactic civil war, it's probably difficult to get exactly the right shades of paint.

A bit of progress to report. I’m working on a unit of seekers, and they’re getting there.

I’ve also built myself a librarian. He’s only just had his contrast layer and face re-based so far. Lots more to do. I wanted to not go too far on his detailing and markings, as if he’s mostly just seen as a line legionary.

It’s sort of a merging of a mk6 marine and the deathwatch librarian from the character set. It requires quite a lot of chopping up and green stuff filling. I fitted the Libby back piece instead of the one from the mk6 guy. I cut off the sides of both chests along the lines of the cables and then stuck it all back together.

I did a bit of work on the backpack too. It’s mostly the Libby one but the top section is  from the mk6 one. That requires some careful cutting and filling.

The staff is a GK one with the top of a Praetor’s back banner.

First if all the pose is great. Well done.

But the leather stripes are too small for him. Looks like he took the speedo of his younger brother

@Mandragola thats ment, I love it. It's always cool when you can make these types of conversations without the need of a lot of green stuffing. I'm pretty sure I'm going to steal this conversion from you.

I'm struggling to come up with a theme/reason for my Alphas existing. Usually I want, or come up with some kind of narrative to my armies, but I'm really struggling for some reason. AL just seem to have stories about them being kill teams and whatnot. Other than the invasion of paramar, we don't see AL tanks anywhere, there might have been a dread in Scars/Path of heaven? Even 'Legion' only features about 50 marines in total with 3 named, and no other materiels. Even paramar seemed to be the exception to the norm

I'd thought about a ZM execution/headhunter force, but that would be lacking in armour. In general I sa them as loyalists, siding with Omegon against the plans of the cabal and actively working to disrupt other Alphas plans, however at this point in the time, I think the cabal are getting swept under the rug.

I have some visions of my AL fighting alongside Blood Angels at the siege, however would they be trusted to be there, or just killed by Dorn?

What other major engagements have the Alphas partaken in? I think the biggst seems to be Istvaan 5, right? I guess blasted glassed/mud bases might work.
