World Eaters Points/Rules leaks

Recommended Posts

Thinking about World Eaters detachments.

Wondering if anyone knows whether Blood Tithe is only a trait for monofaction armies or if it applies to any World Eaters unit.

Would love to run a Black Legion army with a separate World Eaters detachment. But that becomes less appealing if it means missing out on being able to resurrect Angron.

Juicy strats from playtesting: (slight language barrier but I think they’re clear enough):

Ok Brothers, some information about stratagems of WE codex

First of all, the stratagems of two different army are separated. As a World Eater player, you are not allow to use stratagems of the Disciples of the Red Angel, and neither do the AoR player to use the World Eaters Stratagems.

Stratagems for World Eaters:

- Skull for the Skull Throne: 1/2CP, use it after a character from your army destroyed an enemy warlord. 1CP choose 1 from 2 below, 2CP for adopt them all.
1) you get 2 tithe
2) the character who destroyed enemy warlord got +1 to advance and charge for rest of game

Banner of Blood, 1CP, let an ICON berzerker charge at 3D6 and drop the lowest.

Stoke the nail, 1CP, use when choose a core/character to fight. Each wound roll of 6 cause 1 extra mortal, at most 6 from this stratagem

Wild fury, 1/2CP. An core unit fight to death. If it is troop, despite the unit size, 1CP. Otherwise 2CP.

Kill! Maim! Burn!, 1CP, a World Eater unit heroic intervention for 6 inches as if they are character.

Smoke launcher, 1CP, you all know what it is

Scorn of society, 1CP, you all know what it is

Red butchers, 2CP, a unit of terminator/eightbound +1 to damage until the fight resolved when choose to fight.

####################
Army of Renown stratagems

Those we already know:
- 1CP for world eater unit add one to wound roll when fighting below half strength
- 1CP for any eightbound to consolidate 6 inches when enemy retreat
- 1CP for a unit of eightbound to move if they got somebody in unit died after a round of enemy shooting in enemy shooting phase.

AND HERE IS SOMETHING WE DONT KNOW BEFORE
- 1/2CP for a vehicle full damage table despite current wound remain, titanic 2CP, otherwise 1CP
- 1CP when nominating your world eater boys go charging and who he gonna charge. Target cannot over watch or set to defense, then -1 to hit until the end of following fight phase
- 1CP, when you go advance on your world eater unit, don’t make the roll, make it 6.
- 1CP for a world eater unit to ignore any or all charge modifications
- 1CP when a world eater unit destroy an enemy unit. They got an aura for -2 leadership and +1 to casualty test for enemy within 6 inches until end of the turn.

Major takeaway: seemingly no unit upgrade for terminators to be red butchers any more. Bummer If true.

I think there is some really awesome stuff here, otherwise. Berzerkers are gonna kick major ass.

After they said that future "Expansion" books (IE Arks of Omen) won't have Matched Play rules needed to play an army, it makes sense to bung Armies of Renown into the Codex. AoS does this with their Warscroll battalions, amongst other things I wish they would port over.

Red Butcher'ed Terminators with a Chainfist are swinging into a Vehicle at 4 DMG, ouch!

I expect the terminators to have Berserker stats, which should make them similar to red butchers from codex CSM.

Hope GW is sane enough to do so at least.

Yeah supposedly S5 base, so with fists they will still hit the S10 mark which is something I love.

Speaking of which, the new info on Berzerker eviscerators is S+2 AP-4 D2 -1 to hit so worse than loyalist eviscerators, Legionary heavy chainaxe, and the first set of playtest leaks/rumors. For 5 points, eh, it’s still good but not S10 on the charge good. A paltry S8. :D

Let’s see what it actually ends up being.

Since we don't know anything official (I think) as far as pre-orders are concerned, I really hope they don't push him back until 10th edition. I am just chomping at the bit to paint this guy.

I guess he would be stand alone like all Primarch releases, but is there any rumour on releases? Or if this is a codex/boxset, etc? (Kind of like templars?)

What we’ve got at the moment is a claim based on upcoming WHC articles already written and slated for the future that there will not be a launch army box with a codex.

There will be a combat patrol that has a juggerlord, 10 berzerkers, and 20 jakhals. Unclear if it will have the sprue to make Invocatus. Timing of that? I’m not sure, might be timed with the launch, might not.

Salt with all that, of course.

As for Angron, unknown. But it seems reasonable to assume he’ll be launched alongside Arks of Omen: Angron. Armchair analysis, but I feel like it would be such a blunder to not tie those releases together.

I agree in concept, however they won't drop Ron without the codex being around and I can't see that being before March. Angron is book 2 of arks of omen and the first volume was meant to be on sale by Christmas (which looks like it's slipped) so it doesn't quite add up but could be possible.

Uhh.. its officially been announced that Angron comes with a (9th edition, since as far as GW official is concerned 10th doesnt exist) world eaters codex and releases (very) early next year.. nothing about that is rumors. There is a whole lot of articles straight from GW about that, and a lot of chatter about that here on the forums...

.. Im genuinely suprised when typing this, but I think I miss the context of your post ( not meant offensive )

An exact date isnt known, there is a roadmap though;
wTToIVWsVAVhlVpa.jpg

Though that one hails from september, but even if delayed we are looking at early spring.

Article with more details (and official codex cover) here;

https://www.warhammer-community.com/2022/11/19/warhammer-preview-online-take-skulls-and-spill-blood-with-hordes-of-new-world-eaters-units/

Now ofcourse delays happen (they are currently happening to some stuff.) however it is at this point way more likely that if the delays get bigger that 10th edition gets pushed back instead of the world eaters release getting pushed into 10th edition.

Informed Speculation is February as release month for the codex from the same folks leaking stuff.

@TheMawrWhen did they say Angron would be released at the same time as the codex?

It can't come before the codex as he needs to have rules somewhere and I really doubt he's an agent of chaos.

Wow... okay so we are months off from release. For some reason I thought some of this was around the corner. I guess it is possible the World Eaters Combat patrol/releases start coming out before Angron is released.... potentially putting us in early January before this stuff starts hitting the shelves?

Not a chance sadly, there's the Guard release to happen and a Slaves to Darkness release. Both a large model heavy releases with a few specialist game items already previewed to plug the gaps. Best case scenario is late Feb imo which is still accurate to their roadmap above.
