Before an extended hiatus from the hobby, my main army was blood angels. This year I’m remaking them in a new scale for armies on parade.

Thanks a lot. I’ve been in this hobby since 2nd Ed and wanted to pay homage to the artwork I’ve always loved, and the cataphractii kits first, the primaris really allow that (although I don’t think I’ll use any primaris but n this project)

What a cool take on the Chapter! Very dark and freaky, probably much more realistic than the cleaner images we usually see!

That's a very very "John Blanche" colour pallet/effect.

Thanks! I really wanted to lean into the ‘trans human terror’ the early Horus heresy books mentioned so much. That plus the Ian Miller and John Blanche illustrations from RT til 4th edition. I’m still working out how to give a member of the death company earrings!

I can make out the harpoon arm, and I love it. The weathering on the shield is excellent.

Thanks very much. I painted these with oils and inks, so the weathering is a sort of natural effect of the technique. A very happy coincidence!

This is the mini that started the whole thing off. Longbeards amongst you might recognize him. I’d made a oldmarine version about ten years ago, and was never happy with his size. Along came the cataphracti kit and here you go
