Mojake
Okay I think I'm caught up. It was mentioned previously, but I'm very keen on the idea of diverting the canals and flooding the city. Mojake
Tried to kickstart IC strategy discussions, made a bit of an assumption that we were just all kind of there but vague enough that people can turn up if they're otherwise engaged. Lysimachus
I'm making assumptions (hopefully logical ones) based on the map, but it seems clear that the Sororitas are far fewer in number than the Arbites, right? The Cathedrum+Shrine is tiny by comparison to the Bastion? Do we have approximate numbers for the Imperial forces? Sororitas, Arbites, PDF? Again I'm guessing, but I assume it's an inverse ratio of individual quality vs numbers? The Cathedrum+Shrine is tiny by comparison to the Bastion? That's a portion, but you also have the hospital. You can assume that Sororitas as a fighting body use these structures as their main HQ, but they will have other outposts and Frateris Under Arms spread throughout. There is no number on these, as population will confer need on Confessors, etc. 1 hour ago, Lysimachus said: Do we have approximate numbers for the Imperial forces? Sororitas, Arbites, PDF? Successful scans conducted by the crew can give you estimates, but I will require you to roll the Tests to compensate for me not doing it, and fog-of-war. Successful Lore Tests IC once numbers are divined can give you further details. Thanks to Mr Beaky McFlammensturm, there is a dispersion of Arbites assets across Harville and it's outer environs. The Razor can see this from orbit. The Capital and the sizeable area is also under Martial Law. Again - their checkpoints etc can be seen from your augurs. PDF, and Sororitas formations are helping, and dispersed to assist. Essentially then, Harville is under-protected but remains civilian-populated, but the armed forces are relatively dispersed into the countryside on relief efforts and disaster containment. Trokair
I hear I have been missing out on some interesting times here for the last twoish months and that you lot might need an extra Turtle to pull you lot out of the cooking pot. Let me go and dust of Tarh and Mithra (and skim the last little bit to find something approximating bearings). Also, no blaming my dice, they weren’t near this game of late. --- I don’t actually know the context; just saw the Ping a few days ago and a comment about relying on my dice. Don’t! Stealth execution squad - Obi and friends Dock flood squad - Varne, magos and friends Smash ship into bastion - Magos 2 Followed by Crux'as' rebels sieging? Lysimachus
I reckon we slip the sneakies planetside first on the Wasp. Crux'as and Xerxes to continue their efforts to destabilise leadership and tech. Obadiah (and maybe Tarh?) go in too, get ready to hit the Astropath Tower. Varne same for docks? (though I worry about his ability to sneak?) Personally, I wonder if Atesh would be most useful sent to join Sarge and the rebels causing havoc out in the countryside, but that's just my thought? He could tell them to step up their raids in the countryside, drawing out Harville's soldiery (and ask them to send several squads of their best soldiers to the capital to assist once we're ready to attack?) Give them a day or two to stir the pot and get ready. Meanwhile, the rest of the Astartes can board a hauler going back to the planet (maybe put one of those big full He3 tanks aboard, we've got 6?) and get it ready to have an 'accident' - remote control? Or maybe if we've got any crew that hate the Imperium (and/or specifically the Arbites) enough to be willing to go on a probable suicide mission? Then, once as many troops are out of the city as possible, hit the Astropaths and the docks at the same time, then drop the hauler on the bastion. The Astartes can be back on their dropship following behind the hauler, as soon as they reach the ground we go loud. Edit: I wonder, if we manage to wreck the bastion sufficiently, we could/should make the cathedrum and shrine our first target for the Astartes squad. The Sororitas are probably the biggest threat* so hit them first? Mourn might also enjoy visiting/desecrating the shrine? Does that fit in everything we want to do? *discounting the Deathwatch Blackshield squad that might be hiding somewhere, but we can't do much about them right now! Lysimachus
Ah, that makes sense. I don't think we've got any Krokodils left, I think we've got the Wasp, the Starhawk (needs a new name if it's going to be our dropship!), and 1 Arvus. But logically he could take the Arvus, it's very nondescript, and I'm sure there must be a few landing pads near the docks. He could just park it and stay hidden aboard for an hour or two until it's the right moment to attack? (Probably a few minutes after the bulk hauler hits the bastion, I'd say?) Then, as you say, join up with the other Astartes hitting the Cathedrum (or wherever we think is best?)
