Autocannon Completion

I have finished off the fire support squad for the 479th:      With these guys done I have the following complete (bar basing):  1 Fire Support Heavy Weapons Squad 1 Infantry Squad  1 Leman Russ Battle Tank    I have 10 combat engineers/hardened veterans and 4 officers (including a quartermaster) all from anvil which are in the process of being painted.    Still to be primed are:  1 Command HQ (FW)  1 Platoon HQ and Master of Ordna

Solar Auxilia Leman Russ Vanquisher

I have completed the Leman Russ Vanquisher for my burgeoning Solar Auxilia force:      This is a really nice kit, it goes together very smoothly and the rivets and other details (like the vertical movement on the hull gun) really make it stand out as a 30k era vehicle. I have magnetised the hull lascannon so I can swap it for an autocannon if I feel like it, and the gunner's head is a "gothic void helmet" from Anvil Industry. I prefer the look of the Anvil helmets to the GW

A bit more progress on the Krieg, I have managed to get some paint onto this autocannon squad from Anvil:      These are a really nice kit, sharp details but not too busy (which helps for guard infantry) and the customisation options from Anvil are really great.

A small update to help remind myself that progress has indeed been made.  Life has continued to be life, and while I've made some time for da boyz, they are many and batch-painting means that progress feels slow. Since the last post I've moved from cloth to what will be the non-khrome metalic portions, put in time on the scales/hides/furs, gotten a first pass on all bones/nails/teeth and continued pick up belts/pouches/bands that I missed on the last go-round. Indeed, they have been quite commented due to their differences, at least in some circles where I evolve. Call to arms- I month gone

I month down  and 2 more to go. Still managed to get a fair bit done in the last 2 weeks:     I finished both tidewall components, a Cadre Fireblade and a squad of breachers, as well as their drone turret and a recon drone for the upcoming Pathfinders, which is when I realised that I hadn't allowed for drones in my original pledge! Not sure if the drone port drones should count for seperate points, but at least iwth these other two that takes my target total up to 120pts. Th

Intermission 2 (WIPs)

Nothing very fancy from me today, just a potato cam images of some WIPS.   Two Khymaran Veterans. I might even finish them at some point. These are deliberately rough as a badger's chuff, and I'm a little fed up with myself, since despite practice, I just couldn't get the battenberg shoulder scheme down. Elements of a Infernus Druht, unknown Fyrd, Greymanes chapter.   The totemic maul on the leftmost line-brother's shoulderpad represents service at the Defense of Rymr. Though contrary to the expectations of the Hearthspake, the Greymanes arrived unlooked-for to assist the Votann of that world in battle against Chaos marauders. A fierce battle, but ultimately a victorious one for the Fyrds gathered there.

New miniature case!

So I finally upgraded to another miniature case.   My battlefoam 352 case is still in good condition but I did not want to drop the extra money on sliders magna racks when it was too small already. The Battlefoam case is super nice and the slider is the way to go but the price point is super high.        My Large old GW case is great for pewter models but plastic not so much.        The new case: jucoci

Well a trip to my FLGS with my soon to be 11 year old (step)son did not end as I had expected.    Originally it was supposed to be a quick trip in for some paint but that did not happen. I let him walk around and check out the store and soon he found some models he liked…much to my surprise.
