AdMech Patrol #2 - Progress report

    By Bouargh

Blog entries pass and sometimes look like very similar to some previous ones. It is one of the issues when dealing with army building on base of multiples buy outs of the same Patrol Box...   Yet we might eventually expect some variation if the models are fitted in different fashion, ain´t we?   The Onagre DuneCrawler as already been spoiled in the FOrums, but it has been the major progress of the past week so I will "proudly" republish it there. It is also an unhonorable  wa

    Dakota Minor Defence Corps (PDF)

    By Mike Zulu

Introduction Like many established Imperium worlds, Dakota Minor has a planetary defence force simply known the Dakota Minor Defence Corps (or DMDC). Most of its number are conscripted from the local population; a small number of citizens willingly join to escape the tedium of farm life that is prevalent on Dakota Minor. The DMDC is organised in a manner similar to Astra Militarum regiments, albeit more limited in their makeup. For the most part, it consists of dozens of infantry battalions

Important figures

This is a list of important characters I have made backstories for. This list will be updated frequently.   Father Abraham: Formerly known as captain Abram of the Grey Knights, Abraham is the founder of Ordo Celestia & serves as one of its elders.   Mother Sara: Formerly known as Sarai of the Sisters of Silence, Sara is the wife of Abraham & mother of his son, the first Prophet of Eden. She serves as one of the elders of Ordo Celestia & leads the Sisterhood of Chr

The Golden Star

The Golden Star is a bizarre phenomenon that has eluded explanation. It acts as a sun in the star system, orbited by Eden & 8 other planets. The entire star system appears to be set up in the exact same manner as the Sol system, leading many to wonder what the nature of the system is. According to records kept by the Aeldari, the star was not always a golden color, but only became that way after Eden was conquered by the human pilgrims who would form the Golden Kingdom. It is said that the r

Relationships with other factions

Imperium of Man: Most conflicts with the Imperium come from the Imperial Cult as the two religions conflict with each other. Regardless, Ordo Celestia does offer aid to imperial forces quite often.   Aeldari: The Golden Kingdom sees the Craftworld Aeldari as haughty & pompous. However they are still willing to work with them as necessary.   Dark Eldar: The Golden Kingdom has offered to seek a cure for the Dark Eldar’s need to inflict suffering on others, though this often

Volkme its Volkus

With the dust finally having settled on the holiday season I've been able to get back to the painting table with a bit more regularity. My first project of '25 is finishing up my last project of '24, the new terrain set for kill-zone volkus. I assembled and primed the terrain towards the end of October, and picked at it for a month or so before stepping away from my paint table for nearly 2 months. Part of the hiatus was due to the holidays, part due to my annual complete replay of the game Hade

Ordo Celestia

Ordo Celestia is equal parts military order & religious institution, acting as the ruling body of the Golden Kingdom. Though Eden has always had a militia & leadership, only recently have these become reformed into this new Ordo. Founded by Father Abraham (formerly the Grey Knight, captain Abram), Ordo Celestia is an organized military force devoted to the defense of Eden & all worlds controlled by the Golden Kingdom, as well as being the primary forces deployed to conquer ot

Eden, the Promised Land

Name: Eden Segmentum: None Sector: None (varies) Subsector: None System: Golden Star system Population: Billions Affiliation: Scions of the Golden Kingdom Class: Feral/Death/Daemon World (at least as far as the Imperium is concerned) Tithe grade: Experima (according to the Imperium) The world of Eden has a long & storied history. It is said to have existed since the dawn of time & over its existence it has been conquered & reconquered

A bit of backstory

Though called the “Scions of the Golden Kingdom” the Imperium refers to them as “the most Heathenous Cult.” According to Imperial records, they are renegades, mostly human, who are enemies & traitors to the Imperium of Man. They not only deny the divinity of the god Emperor, but they also proclaim him to be a deceiver & a hypocrite. Not much is known about them & any records that even mention them or any members associated with them at all are to be purged. This includes encounters &

Wrapping up 2024 and looking forward.

It's been a while since I did a blog post, in fact I haven't posted since completing my Call to arms vow back in the summer. I'd like to say I had a great excuse for not posting, but it was mainly just being distracted by other things such as playing Space  Marine II. I have still managed to carry on building and painting a fair few models in this time and having a free time over the Christmas holidays I've gotten quite a bit more finished.    2024 Completed:     Fo

2024 - Year in Review - Sin Eaters

2024 - YEAR IN REVIEW THE SIN EATERS   My first major project on returning to the hobby - well, the first once I liked enough to stick with properly - finally hit that all-important 2,000 point mark earlier this year. It's currently 2,070, meaning I can swap out a character as required, as I did this last weekend in a final spurt of tabletop play for the year. I'll go into the individual units in a moment, but just at a top-level, I'm very happy with these chaps. The Crusade, thou

Teaching Kids 40k

Well after a furious build session this weekend, I was able to build the my son's Hand of Khaine Kill Team consisting of 10 Striking Scorpions and 5 Dire Avengers, and need to get him 5 Howling Banshees.     to go against his brother's Death Guard     and his other brothers's Hierotek Circle which I need to get him a box of Immortals/ Deathmark (2 Gauss Blaster, 1 Tesla Carbine, and 2 Deathmarks) plus other 2 Characters; Chronomancer and Psychomancer.

An introduction (of sorts)

I'm not nearly as active either in the hobby or here on the Bolter and Chainsword as I would like to be, or even as much as I used to be. Such is life. However, I have plans to increase my hobby activity. We'll see if Fate wills those plans to be...   If you're wondering about the image I chose for this blog post, those are the minis that got me into the game - the Space Elves. They became the Eldar, and are now the Aeldari. While I love the craftworlders, I have always loved the merce

The Crusade (and Narrative) Continues...

The 40k Campaign I'm running is now at its half way point, and the first part is concluded. This part of the campaign was focused on the Orbital Array that is a lynch pin of the Forge World where the campaign is set.    My Marines haven't done great to be honest - winning only one out of seven games  - but there's been some exciting narrative developments along the way, such as Necrons opening a wormhole to siphon Tyranids from the Octarius Sector directly on to the Array!

Did that just happen............

Ok this was not planned... I swear.    So I have been focused on my switching my paints to Army Painter Warpaints Fanatic series and Friday after work I went to 2 of my LGS. First Store I did not get paint but walked out with Watch Captain Artemis and a box of Deathwatch Veterans. Then I went to next store to pick up my online order for paints and picked up more paints. Friday night, I built the sub assemblies for the veterans and converted Artemis due to the cable was short and slappe

2024 - Year in Review - Summary

2024 - YEAR IN REVIEW SUMMARY - ALL FINISHED MODELS Oh, hi Goose!   I’ve had a pretty good year for painting, and a decent one for actually playing some 40k! The Sin Eaters hit 2,000 points and finished up their Crusade, I started – and eventually completed about 1,500 points worth of – Tau, largely thanks to the Call to Arms, painted up a large BFG fleet, and started work on a second Xenos Army with my Eldar bikes.    That is, for me, a LOT of models. 151, at
