veteran looks damn fine brother :D glad you fixed the purity seal!

beginning of the hatewing looks good too, but i gotta agree with magicman and some others on the raptorclaw wielding guy.

his right claw looks a bit strange. i think turning it towards his body would fix that issue.

keep it up bro!

Glad to hear you were unscathed by the tornadoes! We have a house near Fort Bragg/Pope AFB and we were happy to hear it had no damage. Hope all goes well on the recovery!

I look forward to your Hate-wing, mine is on hold as I keep getting distracted. The veteran you painted up also looks tough as nails!

I love the termi's. The one "on the rock" as we're saying is killer. I'm sort of perplexed by the raptor talons though, his right arm seems kind of bent a little awkwardly. I don't know how far you are with them, but if that claw was bent inside a little bit i think he'd be perfect.

haha yeah that's true .. a dude who runs around with heads strapped to him you know isn't quite right :(

Liking the Vet, I was scanning over him and some of the rusted damaged areas really have a 3d look like you can see the layer below. nice work!

Also liking that sword much better then the smaller one, he just feels more balanced to me now. I also really like the LC + SS guy, looks like he's pushing forward though a hail of fire to gut the opponents foolish enough to have shot at him.

Glad to hear you didn't end up in the land of Oz, hope clean up is going well. :tu:

Awesome progress on the termies. Gotta go with the flow and say the termie standing on the rock looks so bad ass. Its funny, as you mentioned about the whole trophy heads on a chain reminiscent of 300, that's exactly what I thought when I looked at your Vet. Your stuff is such a inspiration, now if only I had the amount of bits required to do something outstanding like yours.

Mr.Malevolent

I have completley abandoned the 'Vengance Squad' idea in every way, shape, and form. This decision wasn't made lightly, though. The more I thought about the Vengance squad, the more I felt it didn't fit the MM. If some force or individual really had ticked off the Chapter, I feel that they would use every Marine possible to exact vengance (if not just an orbital bombardment...), not just a squad or two. Also, sending a 5-man squad to their deaths means 5 suits of warplate and weapons gone forever...bad for a Chapter that can barely maintain the suits they have.

Heathens,My take on the Vengeance Squads is not a case of a 5 Marine Squad or a 10 Marine Squad, its just a name given to the Squads that go forth and dish out the nastiness required to those that have upset us!!.....Its always gonna be at least a Company that gets dirty!!

;)

Let me start out this post with an apology; I swear this is the last time I will bother you about the Biker Cavalry :P (I feel like I've been pushing it a bit much)

But I quickly came up with a rough idea of what you could do, should you choose to make your Bikes like cavalry:

My apologies for the shoddy pics. Only problem (I realise now) is that the bikes would have to be lifted up somewhat in order to properly look like badass cavalrymen, like the one in the picture, who is balancing on a pile of bluetac and a poor Gondorian. But the message gets across I hope: as you can see, he looks a bit more dynamic than Mr Fake-legs who can only stare forwards and fits perfectly into a rectangular box.

Edit: Also, my apologies for the thread-hijack, I just wanted to show you what I mean :woot:

Took a bit of a hiatus, had some family friends come down to visit, including my best friend and his horde of Death Guard. We played a small 1000 pt game, and I'm proud to say that my MM came out on top. Badass of the game went to my Scout-Sergeant Arlee, who killed 4 Plague Marines, and gutted a Chaos Dread in hand-to-hand, then went on to contest an objective, sealing the win. And yes, the whole time, I was quoting 'full metal jacket' lines to my friends' annoyance, lol. But I digress....the rest of the Sternguard are ready for paint!

Tried to make him look like he was leaping over the low wall, still running and gunning.

An ornate bolter, you ask? Nabbed it from the Celestial Lions gravesite on Armageddon, lol. They don't need it anyway...

The squad Scholar-Brother. No, that isn't a copy of 'War and Peace' chained to his thigh, lol. I'm running the idea that this Vet squads' history is so extensive, he's run out of room in the book, and has begun writing the squad's victories directly upon his warplate. You'll see what I mean when he's painted.

Finally, the Squad Sergeant, who has been lucky enough to score one of the few Mk. VII chestplates in my army.

I'll get some paint on these guys and post 'em as soon as their done. Maybe I'll even get one of the Termies done while I'm at it...

@Everyone: Thak you for all your constructive critisism and kind comments, I really appreciate it!

@Goose: I think the biggest inspiration block I'm having with the bikes is staying true to WYSIWYG, and not having any CCW's on my bikes, only bolt pistols. Which is bull ;) in my opinion, but whatever. I'm brainstorming, though, gimme time. Nice biker though!

Hot hot hot hot!

Great sense of movement in that first guy especially! He reminds me of the Astral Claws from the Cities of Death book (I think it's CoD..) I envy your ability to finish squads that you start in one go :) I'm just all over the place.. Has the second guy lost his lightning bolt under the eye?

Do bikes really not get any type of close combat weapon? What are they expected to fight with in close combat? I figured even Tactical Marines get a combat knife, so can't you just interpret that a bit liberally? ;)

Anyway believe you me I am definitely looking forward to more!

Im running out of adjectives for awesome.

That running/jumping guy is probably my favourite, fantastic sense of movement. And i love trying to figure out where all the parts are from on your models. Is the Sergeants head from an Iron Warrior?

Wow...I'm kind of amazed. I kind of run out of words at this point...I mean not just the Modelling or the Painting, also the fluff of these twisted delusional psychopathic marines who think they're the only true Marines left and...Well I think you get the idea. I, random stranger on the internet, approve. I approve very much. I haven't even looked through the whole topic yet...but rest assure I will. And I will probably steal inspiration aplenty.

I've really enjoyed going through this whole log, it's been really inspiring.

So Inspiring in fact that I've started working out an army list for an Executioner force that's been bitbashed and green stuffed like yours.

I really like the Sternguard squad, too.
