Well after spending the end of last week as well as the weekend proxying as a Plague Cannon :) I return to find comments!?! ;)

 

However I've had to ask my opponent to postpone the game for another week as there have been some upheavals spacewise in my flat and I need to organise some space to play in :)

The White Stars Tac Squad & Pred are in progress, having been joined by a Rhino/Razorback. I should have an update on those in the next week or two.

The Termies are undercoated and I will be putting the first coat of Red on tomorrow (while at work :P), but time is at a premium at the mo so I probably won't get any serious work done till at least the weekend. Pics will be up after then.

 

@ sockwithaticket - Cheers, although I will say watching your army develop helps gives me the occasional push when I start to lose interest:lol:

 

As above, I am working on the Termies. Glad you like the Red, it was a bit of an experiment (which is really simple) and worked better than I could have hoped :(

 

Some work has been completed on the "Secret Weapon" as well, pretty much all of the scratchbuilding work has been done, just a bit of filling to do and then the first coat of paint goes on.

 

I'll hopefully have some pics to put up of the various bits I'm working on after the weekend.

Well I'm happy to report that aside from Iconography and a couple of final touches (damn lens glints!) The Termies and the Secret Weapon are just about done ;)

 

This amounts to about 1500 points worth of Flesh Tearers inside 2 months :)

 

Now I need to get back to my White Stars ;)

Well as promised, here are the pics of the Flesh Tearers Terminators -

I'm very happy with how these have turned out and they look great next to the rest of the army :)

I've also finished the "Secret Weapon", which also has my first real attempt at weathering that will also be added to the rest of the army at some point down the line.

As well as that I've knocked up a couple of pieces of terrain, which are currently drying, pics up by the end of the week along with the "Secret Weapon" ;)

Well after randomly deciding that I was going to reclaim a couple of old Rhinos from my Chaos army and paint them up as Flesh Tearers I stabbed myself right in the :) finger with my craft knife whilst carefully removing a damaged cupola.

 

Blunt spot right in the middle of the blade just slid along the plastic :(

 

This immediately brought the thought that Khorne may be displeased with me and have taken a sacrifice for my hubris, which I quickly dismissed and reallocated the blame to the TV distracting me :)

 

My other half did not buy it, but still went and got a large plaster and the antiseptic (it burns).

 

So anyway, to my point.

 

It may be a short while before I will be doing any serious painting /modelling as this is quite a nasty slash across the tip of my middle finger. I'll therefore be focusing on my terrain pieces for the rest of this week and hopefully getting back to the serious work by the weekend ;)

Well here we are again, this time with terrain ;)

I knocked up two pieces of terrain after finding this cheap and cheerful blog Easy Terrain and realising that my terrain was pretty scarce.

I thought it was a genius idea to use old CDs as bases and am genuinely shocked that I never even considered it until I read that blog :rolleyes:

Anyway here are my efforts -

Corner section with Crater

Corner section with last stand guardsman/ganger/cultist

Now I realise the ground looks a bit BLue, but its actually Fenris Grey (which I do all my bases with) drybrushed with Astronomicon Grey. Trust me it looks better in person ;)

Anyway, let me know what you think and I hope to have more to show soon :)

Well the game had to be postponed again :P

So in the meantime I have got back to work on a couple of old Rhino chassis in order to resurrect them to active duty ;)

They have a way to go before I am willing to show them (gap filling mainly :P ) so as promised here are some pics of the "Secret Weapon" I was saving for the game, because I hate keeping secrets ;)

So heres "Old Atlas"

I had to do quite a bit of work on this ebay rescue including scratchbuilding most of the front end of the top plate and replacing one of the side panels with a GS replica.

This is also the first time I've really tried to weather a vehicle, all of which has been done with paint and washes so please let me know what you think ;)

Just had a look through your thread, and you can tell that your modelling and painting has evolved a lot in such a short space of time. You're braver than I am to have an army that is predominantly white :P I do like the shade of red you've given your Flesh Tearers as well :P

Tbh, White isn't actually that hard once you've got the method down pat.

 

As for the Flesh Tearer Red, well that's a labour of love B)

I don't seem to tire of painting it and I really love the outcome ;)

I've made some progress on the two old school Rhinos I'm working on, one has been set up so I can pinswap the weapons (I don't have any magnets unfortunately)

 

I've got the first coat of Primer on them now so that I can identify any areas which need more smoothing out.

 

Once thats done with I can start painting them in earnest :)

 

And I haven't forgotten about the White Stars, it's just that I can't seem to get the motivation to work on them at the mo, but hopefully after the Rhinos are done I will manage to get back to them ;)

Well the first stage of Red is on both Rhinos and while they could look better from a modelling standpoint they will do for my purposes :)

 

Given that the Flesh Tearers were only supposed to be a small allied contingent they seem to have turned into a decent sized force in their own right :turned:

 

However, whilst rummaging around for terrain making material I have discovered a small fantasy Dwarf Army that I had completely forgotten about. So at the moment I am cleaning the mold lines off a small regiment of Miners -_-

 

Damn my easily disracted personality :huh:

 

I hope to have the Rhinos picture ready by early next week and then I will be taking a step away from the Flesh Tearers and hopefully getting back to the original focus of this little WIP :P

The Rainbow Warriors I'm currently working on were supposed to fill a similar role to your Flesh Tearers, but things got out hand :P

 

Doesn't help that I eventually want to get five DIY Marine armies (four Loyal, one Traitor), an SoB army and an Eldar one either :lol:

 

Don't get me started if the rumours about Genestealer Cults coming back are true!

I'm thinking that the Dwarves will provide a change of pace and give me a brief respite from painting PA, which will hopefully bring back my motivation to paint my White Stars.

Well the first unit of my little side project is pretty much done :P so I'll be getting back to the Flesh Tearers tanks in short order.

 

Should hopefully be able to get them both done by Friday and have the pics up by the weekend :)

 

After that I am definitely getting back to the White Stars, as I need to get them done before Christmas since I've been informed that I can look forward to some new goodies around then :)

Here's a quick update, just to show that I am doing something 40K related ;)

WIP Rhinos

Basecoat for the Red is down as well as the highlights, just my magic awesome making wash^tm to go on next and then I'll start working on the Black.

Probably be done by Sunday as long as I don't get distracted by anymore Dwarves :D

Also got some Objective Markers on the go, which I can work on in between wash layers, hopefully have these done by Sunday too though I'm a bit stuck on what chapter for as I want them to be universal for whatever Chapter I use. Suggestions appreciated ;)
