Thanks mate. I wanted to make his trophy rack a little special and different to the regular ones in the terminator set.

 

Call of Chaos update: 2/2 December

 

The Lord is just about finished now apart from his base (I'm waiting for the PVA glue to dry so that I can start painting it). I still need to finish of a couple of silver bits but I'll do that once he is attached to the finished base.

wow that Word Bearer lord looks amazing! I really like that power axe and his armour shows so much detail that you just can't stop looking at it! Just wow, amazing brother!

I've been following your progress for the past few days/weeks on my phone and now that I'm finally in front of a real computer with a real keyboard, I feel that I must express my joy of seeing such a beautifully converted and painted miniature. Even if he's not yet finished, he looks terrific :tu:

The Lord is finished!

 

Overall I'm pretty happy with how he turned out. I think the extra colour (mostly blue) really helps him stand out from my other WBs and look better in general.

With the Lord finished I need to get started on the second half of my Call of Chaos vow, namely a Sorcerer. I've decided to paint up a Sorcerer from the Black Legion. He'll be the Despoiler's emissary to my Dark Host, making sure the WBs and IWs tow the line (when of course he is nothing more than a pupet who my Lord pays little attention to).

I've managed to do some work on the Sorcerer since Christmas. I'm pretty happy with how the red has turned out but I can't decide what colour to paint the Chaos star... Ideas?

While I was waiting for the various layers of red to dry on the cloak I finished off a couple of my IW raptors that had been sitting around unfinished for a while.

I painted the bare arm and the severed heads of the first raptor.

Lovely work on the Sorcerer :P The blending on the cape is just phenomenal and the lens glow is perfect. Also, I really like that conversion, so I may snatch the idea if you don't mind.

 

All in all, terrific work and I'm looking forward to seeing him completed!

The blend on his cape is fantastic. As for the star I quite like the way it is. It's quite subtle and not too in your face. Looking forward to your next update.

I think the star would look pretty damn epic in yellow. Especially fitting for a Black Legionnaire :D Plus, you can actually paint yellow, so why need more incentive? ;)

Thanks for the feed back guys! I was thinking of a blue/green for the chaos star on the clock but Ludovic has got me thinking about yellow. If I do decide to go with the yellow it with be a fairly muted tone. Maybe I could try a NMM gold?
