Thanks for the feed back guys! I was thinking of a blue/green for the chaos star on the clock but Ludovic has got me thinking about yellow. If I do decide to go with the yellow it with be a fairly muted tone. Maybe I could try a NMM gold?

Yeah, NMM gold would look pretty good. Or if you go for yellow, a subdued yellow is definitely what I'd suggest you go with :)

Cheers,

Ludovic

I'm not very confident with NMM. It would look awesome if I pulled it off but the blue/green would be a better contrast. I might just have to try it out.

Blue/green may offer a nice contrast with the red, but I think that it wouldn't look good as a whole, especially since most of the other details (eyes, gems, etc...) were in yellow. It would tie it all together, at least in my mind.

And maybe you could try NMM and see how it works out. If you need, I may have an old tutorial in a WD on how to paint gold fabric. If I find it, do you want me to do a scan and send it to you via PM?

If you could find me that article I would be much obliged. No stress though, I can always try to wing it.

Call of Chaos update: 2/2 January

A quick update to my Call of Chaos vow. I've done some more work on the cloak and the axe.

Thanks for looking ;)

Thanks guys! I'm pretty happy with how the NMM turned out. There is definite room for improvement but its not too bad for my first effort with the technique.

Call of Chaos vow Completed!

The Sorcerer is finally finished! I rushed through the final stages of the paint job today because I wasn't aware of the extension to the completion date. Any way here he is, the Despoiler's sorcerous envoy to my Dark Host.

I say again mate, outstanding work. :smile.:

Thanks a lot Bio! Great work on your Raptor and the Landraider is starting to look pretty awesome!

Really great work in this thread - incredibly high standard of converting and painting, I can't pick a standout model/unit. Great work all round!:cool.:

Thanks mate! I've always been a big fan of you Legion of Taurus. The Decimator is looking great with the downturned horns. Good luck with the CoC, can't wait to see your finished work.

Now I just need to decide what to paint next. I'm thinking of building some more Word Bearers but I can't make up my mind...

Whatever happened to the Sekhmet? They were looking pretty promising :smile.:

I'd love to get back the Sekhmet. They're quite a lot of work though so I'd have to ease my way back into them. I've got a fully assembled Terminator waiting for painting so maybe that could be my way back in. One of the other problems I have is which Codex I should use. Grey Knights seem like the best fit for the Sekhmet Terminators but I'm not sure how I can justify regular (powere armoured) Thousand Son marines with force weapons and stormbolters. Maybe I should check out the new DA codex or even go with the CSM codex?

Have you read the HH novel A Thousand Sons?

From my understanding, all the 1K sons battle brothers are capable of weilding psychic powers during the time in which this book takes place.

This is most evident when the Puppies make planetfall on Prospero and the 1K sons are killing them at range without the use of conventional weapons.

It also describes every battle brother having a psychially tuned combat weapon and access to tutelaries...

I think GK could suit perfectly fine, with the exception of Storm Bolters, given the manifested powers above.

Yeah I read it when it first came out. I'm not too sharp on the details as that was a couple of years ago... so I could be entirely wrong.

I'm not sure that all the Sons were able to wield psychic powers. The non-psychers would become Rubric marines after Ahrimans great spell.

I think the perfect answer to my dilema could be the allies system. I could Allie my Sekhmet (GK) with a more conventional PA codex.

While trying to come up with inspiration for my next mini I thought back to when I first started collecting CSMs. The Legion that originally attracted me to chaos was the Emperor's Children. The first 40k minis I bought were Noise Marines and I've returned to the EC for my next mini.

Hopefully this guy will end up leading a unit of Noise Marines. I'm also feeling inspired to try a EC Lord on bike or steed of Slaanesh now. I think I'll paint the head as a death mask but I can't decide whether it should have golden hair with a silver face or vice versa.

Emperor's Children Aspiring Champion.

Thanks for looking

I just... came. This is so incredibly beautiful!

Might I ask where you got the shoulder pad from?

Haha, thanks mate! I assume you mean the shoulder pad with the wing? Its just a regular Shoulder pad from the Raptor kit but the wing is from the Death Company kit and the gem is from a High Elf spearmen banner.

Now thats something! He looks great, I dog with a gold mask and silver hair. Ho ware you panning on painting him? will you be going the really bright pink or the more regal purple? Or something completly different.

Thanks Bio! I was leaning towards the golden face but I'm not sure if it will blend in too much with all the gold trim that he'll have on his armour. I'll be painting him in the purple colour scheme, I'm not really a fan of the pink scheme. It probably won't be the royal purple scheme though something closer the old 'Warlock Purple' paint. So a bright purple.

Gorgeous work, Kizz. Love that hair, and how its shape flows with the rest of the mini.

Thanks mate! The hair was one of my more ambitious green stuff attempts. Usually I'm more of a gap filler rather than sculpter. Hopefully it looks alright when its painted.

Thanks again guys :)

Well the B&C is back up! Thanks so much to everybody who worked so hard to get the board back up! :)

I've done some work on the Aspiring Champion. He is still very much a WIP but slowly getting there.
