Kizzdougs bout to break the internet.

:tongue.:

But seriously, it's an awesome model and you're giving it a hell of a paint job, as always, dude.

Really incredible stuff!

Sorry if one has been posted but would love a little tutorial on how to do metallic armour but in black? I always feel that black marines while awesome look a little flat without some potentially disastrous highlighting

Thanks dude! With regards to the 'metallic black', are you referring to one of my paint jobs in particular or just in general?

The Herald is looking great buddy. Is it a 30k XVIII trooper you'll be building? I'm sorry for my ignorance of the Legion thing.

Yeah, the XVIII Legion (Salamanders). I need some ideas regarding what kind of marine (ie. speciality, rank etc.). I might end up going for a fairly simple and basic tactical marine and rely on the paint job to make him stand out.

Are you going to use the cannon in both games even though it is on the "wrong" base. If so, I imagine you are fine to post it. Plenty of people use nonstandard bases.

Yeah I am. You're probably right too. I'll post some pics later today and the mods can always remove them if they feel that the square edged base is just too heretical for the hallowed B&C.

Hahahahaha... That is amazing!!! I don't know about breaking the internet but it nearly broke my mind :laugh.:

I've done some more work on the Herald. The skin has been given its final highlight (I'll be adding one more highlight to the scaly areas at the very end) and the brass armour is completed. Next up I'm hoping to get the hellblade and trophy/carcass finished tomorrow.

And some more Daemon booty!

I also thought that I'd share some pics of the Skull Cannon, even if it does have a rectangular base. The mini is intended for both systems after all...

Hopefully the last few images aren't too heretical.

Thanks for looking ;)

Those are some lovely looking daemons Kizz. The painting is amazing.

Thanks bro, much appreciated!

Great work on the Herald so far, the skin looks particularly awesome.

Thanks mate, I had fun doing the skin so I'm glad you like the result :)

BEAUTIFUL.

Also, would you consider making a fallen Salamander that is basically a dragon or dragon like?

Thanks! Well, the Salamander needs to be Heresy/Crusade era, so I'm not too sure how mutated a fallen Legionary could get in that time. I could always model him as a possessed though...

Time travels, differently, in the warp.

So there's a Grond-sized gun in the works, right? Being pulled by four Juggers...?

I wish the answer was yes, because that would be awesome! Unfortunately said cannon is not in the works, but you've planted the seed in my mind now...

It does indeed. I'll have to see what I come up with :)

The Herald is now complete

Thanks for looking ;)

That is some absolutely gorgeous work there, my friend. Truly.

The only comment I can think to make is the corpse doesn't seem suitably gory. Now, I'm not exactly someone who likes an excess of gore, but I think given the situation of the body, it seems that some 'Blood for the Blood God' technical paint is in order.

That skull cannon thought, that is amazing. Almost makes me want to get one of my own.. >_>

Some lovely looking deamon booty and other stuff.  Where's the dead guy from that the Khorne herald is holding please?

Hahaha, thanks dude! The dead guy comes with the Forgeworld Herald (this mini). The Heralds wrist fits into the corpse's stomach.

Yeah, I can totally see what you're saying. I was intentionally being minimalist with the gore so that it wouldn't obscure the detail. However, I was probably a little too frugal with it. Thanks for the 'Blood for the Blood God' tip, I hadn't even considered it (I might have to get myself some next time I'm at GW). :)

I love the sword! What made you decide to paint it that way? Also I second both comments about that victim

The style of the sword was something I had tried on one of my other minis and I wanted to promote some uniformity between the mortal and daemonic elements of my force. Plus it contrasts really nicely with the red flesh.

Wow. Looking classy

Thanks bro :)

My work here is done, but yours is just beginning. ;)

Booty Daemon is magnificent, really great work on the corpse, too. I think a minimalistic approach to gore was a good plan, what with all thr red on the mini. What did you do for the dead skin, is there purple in there?

Also: base or not, more pics of the juggernaut pulling that skull cannon please! That thing looks amazing, I've never seen a black juggernaut quite as visually striking as that.

Very impressive. Are those little skulls on the sword? The whole thing together just looks excellent.

Thanks dude! Yeah, the sword has those little skulls sculpted onto it. A nice little bit of detail :)

Thanks mate! The skin was Kislev Flesh washed with Agrax Earthshade and then highlighted with various mixes of Kislev Flesh and Ceramite White. I did use some Druchii Violet, particularly around the face.

Unfortunately I don't have a better picture of the Jugger pulling the Cannon and I can't take another right now because my entire WoC army is on display at my local GW store. I'll pm you some pics of my Skullcrushers, the Juggers are painted the same way :)

I've finally done some more work on my Talos Valcoran mini after starting him about four years ago... :P

I needed a distraction from all of the Warriors of Chaos that I've been working and a dust covered Talos seemed like the perfect candidate. He is still very much a WIP and I'd love to hear any ideas or suggestions from people as far as finishing him off is concerned (I need to decide on the design of the rune to paint on his helmet). I also need to decide how to base him (considering a industrial/starship theme). At this stage I'm planing to pick up some 32mm bases as they are a much better fit for the upscaled marines.

He's looking absolutely fantastic! You're not exactly making Augustus b'Raass' job any easier, you know...

All the important visual cues are there, obivously, but what I really like more than anything else is how the spikes on his backpack actually seem like a helmet crest if seen from the right angle -- that is very clever.

A gorgeous model all around! One down, five to go

EDIT: Excellent update on the previous page!
