I've done some more work on the Screamers. They're still WIP. I need to highlight the blue, finish off the horns and paint the eyes. Once they're done I'll get cracking with my Call of Chaos Vow.

Thanks mate! I'm doing a Lord and Sorcerer for the challenge (to begin with). I'm not sure what kind of configuration they'll be in yet or even which legion (I'm really having trouble deciding on a Legion at the moment) but I'm looking forward to getting started (once I choose a Legion :( ).

Call of Chaos

November update 1

 

Hey Guys I just started working on my first entry in the Call of Chaos today. I've decided to go with the Word Bearers for this project (or at least the Lord).

There is some minor conversion work but overall he is very straight forward. He is still a WIP at the moment and I'll have to do some more work on him before I can start painting. I hope you like him.

The lords shoulder pad is fantastic mate, he looks mean as hell. Im going to have to redo my Chaos Lord now :)

The Lord looks, well, boss! The only minor feedback I can give is the joint from the torso to the shoulder looks a tad long, and couldn't e use reinforcement.

I agree. I'm not happy with how the joints turned out but it was the only way to get the arm at the angle I wanted it and still have the shoulder pad fit. Hopefully it'll look better when its painted.

 

I've given the Lord a trophy rack with a couple of added prizes. I've added an extra skull, flagellant head and Sanguinary Guard death mask to bulk out the rack a bit more and to identify my Lord as a veteran of the Long War.

The Lord is almost ready for painting. I just need to finish off the base and I'll start painting when I get back from the Gold Coast next week.

I've started work on some Word Bearers and I'm planing to use the DV chosen with raptor and possessed bits to build my 'regular' CSMs. I'm hopping this will give them a VotLW look, plus I love the new minis. I also have the DV Lord that I'm thinking of converting into a Sorcerer as part of my Call of Chaos vow.

 

The Aspiring Champion. I was planing on arming my Champions with Lightning Claws but I couldn't resist the opportunity to make a mini Dark Apostle... hopefully he doesn't fight too manny power armoured challenges.

Some great inspiration here. I have been wondering how I could make some cool shoulder pads for my own Word Bearers and I also have a bunch of spare blood letter bits kicking around so i shall have to give that a try!

I've been working on my Daemon allies recently even though I should really be concentrating on my Call of Chaos projects...

Anyway I've finished a ten strong unit of Horrors and plan to start on a Herald and unit of Flamers next.

 

The pictures don't properly show the colours of the units, particularly the purple flesh.

Thanks a lot mate! I've started work on the Flamers and I'll keep chipping away at the Lord. Hopefully I'll have some more updates to share soon.

I'm taking my Daemons to a team tournament tomorrow and I needed an HQ to lead them. I painted up this herald and his disc (screamer) just this afternoon. He still needs some green stuff work and the paint job is a little rushed but he'll do for now... I still have work to do on my flamers...

 

Hopefully the effort will be worth it and he'll zoom around the table tomorrow blasting away with the bolt of Tzeentch to full affect.
