The Eagles Spire - Semper Fidelis Eagles Eternal

Recommended Posts

You guys can do the successors however you like, but I know there's chapters out there that use the same icon's as their parent chapter. So feel free to use the EGA, of course if you want you're own badge, feel free to make whatever, it's you're chapter.

As for some of the shoulder pads, stand by for a few.

I'm gonna have to figure it out myself.... I'm thinking it might be easier to do a sort of hard transfer that can be applied to a blank shoulder pad. I can't find the relevant post right now, but From the Warp has some excellent tips. Too bad Ron's life got a bit too hectic for him to continue his blog.

War Lord Krunn walked through the dying smoke from the burnt out Chimera transports looking at the the shreaded remains of the traitor guard. Sentries for the colum had been gutted were that had stood quickly and unheard. The troops had been hit by mass reactive rounds no imperial guard unit would be issued in the numbers required for this much carnage. Marines had done this but none had been reportedly seen. Shades and unknown reapers were all the warlords men jabbered about over the radio comms till they went silent. No survivors had been found. The Warlord snarled in fury before sinking the barbed end of his power scythe into the ground. The reports of butchered Orks by his troops in this manner had been brushed off as his veterans of the 7th legion having fun. Witnessing the carnage on his on troops could not be done as much. the reports of the Imperial Marines retreating as the Ork rokks entering orbit had been misinforming the Magos would pay as such. Conquering the system from the orks would have been simple enough but These Specters would be a diffrent Matter entirely. Taking his Scythe back in hand the Warlord growled his unhappiness and returned to his raider surrounded by His Bodyguards. as the Noise disappeared in the distance Two shades seperated from the shadows of the surrounding wreckage of the urban sprawl. "Eagle Four, target identified. Shadow Six moving to debrief Zone Seven." With a Nod of Affirmitive replied Shadow Six Quietly disappeared Back into the rubble Blending into their surroundings using the Camoflauge of their armour to break up the outlines. The Snake had revealed its head, The Eagles of 4th Company would soon remove it...

Really? Ok. Well I've kinda worked a theme of "squad pride" into my models, but I've always thought that space marines don't operate in squads like current military. Think I how we fight wars now compared to during the revolution, well that's how we are to them. A single squad probably covers four city blocks lol. But maybe the squads operate with the other squads in a type of fire team platoon?

Idk, I'm just thinking of it as in the sense, if we both played a game together, we wouldn't start swapping models to have our squads intermingled ya know? But if we want two Tac squads holding a flank, we could assign a squad from each chapter. How's that?

Thanks brother sanguine, I'm gald I pointed you here.

Seeing as its vow posting day, I have a question for all. Should I post my vow now? Or wait till later and see if I've gotten some more done?

My mother in law is visiting, so my wife has been distracted and I've got a lot to show for it. :)

Final question, is there still a painting challenge going on that I can get in on? Now that I'm at the painting stage once again I feel comfortable in throwing my hand into it and not worrying about still making the Marines I want to paint lol.

this part isnt an update, but im wondering what you guys think about this look. i think the MKIII shoulder pads on the newer Mark armor looks a little odd. so give me youre oppinion. i realise now that i woulnt be able to give all of the vets a pair of these, but i could give all of them the left shoulder pad. at least

heres the meat of the vow, after spending hours making sure i was done with the GS, i decided i was ready to prime. while waiting for the models to dry i cleaned up my workstation, which was cluttered with sculpting tools, bits, molds, casts, files, and other models. now its just got the essentials, (a thunder hawk and the paint station).

heres the three colors ive managed to put onto the squad.

and two individual shots

i still have a little more white to finish my base, which i was waiting to do until i got the rest of the colors put on. im debaiting on weather or not to do the Sgt's Company marker on his right leg in gold, or have the number and trim be red with a black fill. i would love some comments on that. you may also notice that ive done the purity seals in gold this time. i thought it would add to the fact that their veterans. im also thinking that it resembles the USMC more than red seals. looks more like a real medal. i may do that for all my Marines.

so, there it is for now. i know its still WIP but i'd love some comments and to hear youre thoughts.

oh, suggestions on how to do the Lightning claw?

I like the MK III shoulder pad I agree maybe just give the one? Maybe the left pad that way it's the chapter icon pad, so it seems to be passed down from veteran to veteran....also on a side note war angel what are the models standing on plastic squares? What are they? They seem a great temporary base idea
