Today in the hobby I....

Spending time organizing bits into my new 64 bin organizer (a step up from a beat up old tackle box); as well as magnetizing bits and pieces on various vehicles.  Not the most exciting hobby day; but always good to get the boring stuff out of the way once in a while.

Built the last 25 marines for my battle company.  5 assault marines and 20 devastators now mean it's completely built....apart from the fact I want to swap out 2 of the tactical squads and use the ones I have as donors for my Crimson Fists (one squad was AOBR so makes sense with the markings)

Just as I thought my next investment would be to get the armoured support complete, rumour say GW have Knight Titans coming.....so there we go - next army sorted!

Today I proxied an Imperial Knight in my Carcharodon list in two games using my bipedal soul grinder against Templar and Tau.

It was awesooooooome.

Oh and I bought the pinning kit and finished modeling my converted Fire Raven, going to start painting it tonight.

I'm going to make it extremely war-torn because reasons and other reasons.

I think I can bring it back from the above. Already put a lot of time into might as well go all the way.

Also just buy the actual Fire Raptor. Trust me.

Today in the hobby I finished all the tendril conversions for my Warpsmith turned Master of the Forge and found an elegant solution to the fugly old power axe in the form of a thunder hammer.

...I sculpted an "Iron Man" helmet for the Blood Angel that will feature in my Terra/Prospero thread. I first saw the helmet type in Collected Visions and always thought it looked pretty cool. It didn't turn out too bad and I could see doing a bunch of them for a BA squad.

Drafted a brief background piece on a mysterious chapter in the segmentem obscurus, with a history delving all the way back to the Horus Heresy itself, and then decided to reverse things, and start with the Heresy-era force, and work forwards on the modeling side...

And thus, I enter the world of 30k.

I started building a LotD squad with a plasma cannon, plasma gun, plasma pistol on the sergeant and plasma bolters for everyone else. It's your basic plasma unit from Hell.

Did I mention that it has plasma too?

Today in the hobby I went to collect my son when I finished work from his friends house, whose dad runs a newsagents, apparently GW contacted him with a sample box to see if he's interested in stocking their products (he's not) so I walked away with a DA starter paint set and a full box of new tactical marines. All in all I consider that a good Friday evening:thumbsup: .

I thought your son would be worth more than a DA starter paint set....

Read the original post I also got a tactical squad, jeez you dont think I swapped him for just the starter set. I mean really, some people:no: .

You're supposed to haggle ;)

Firstborn are usually worth a battle force at least. But like cars, their individual parts are worth more than the whole...
