I'd say you're spot on about the base. Plenty of other ways to get that effect without the textured paint though.

 

Could do with some areas darkening though, around the stones and the feet.

Did I miss something guys?! :P the base is actually from a miniature company called Dark Arts Miniatures! So no texture paints and rocks used I'm afraid! :D

 

I pm'ed Red Skullz about the paint recipe but now I see what you meant ^^

You often see tanks that are painted and look like they're in normal daylight. Then have these full beam headlights and vision slits glowing as if it's night.

I know it's a trend but it makes me want to smash my screen lol.

I'd totally buy tickets to that.

hmm havent really tought about that, thats assuming you mean converting the forgeworld model? or did you mean building my own Horus?

 

the forge world model is awsome, so i rather like that the way it is, and i tought about building my own, but this weekend i ordred Horus and other fun stuff ^^

while waiting for Augustus to respond i thougt ill share a teaser pic of some of Abaddons basing matrial, mind you its not done yet, still need some battle damage

and once i have time ill do a project log on my youtube channel just dont have time to edit the videos yet maybe in a few weeks

Ah, Abby and the Blood Angels, best love story ever XD Can't wait to see him finished he is by far my favorite mini in your army^^ (And that say a lot considering the quality of the conversion and paint on the rest :) )

working on it, been very busy need to be ready for the deadline

thanks, had alot of fun with the freehands, will try and get some pics or movies posted soonish, problem is i have another deadline back to back with this one if i am gonna be able to compete in best in show in the tournement.

 

and ontop of that call of chaos will start!!
