Battybattybats
I like it so far very much indeed. I like the demonic face very much and I agree with your faceplate choice. It, especially with the horns at that angle, convey a cold murderousness which suits very much.
Augustus b'Raass
I love it. The groin/faceplate thing works really well. You should at least try to make the lower teeth less stony, but I agree that if you're endangering the build, the paint should speak for itself. Also: I'm stealing the helmet and horns idea for my legged Lord of Skulls.
JeffTibbetts
Not bad at all, except those thigh plates. I don't like the way they fit right now. They just look like they're shaped to fit something else (which of course they were). I dig everything else, including the tusks. They work well with the helmet. Do they look goofy turned upside down? It might look cool to echo the sweep of the demon-face tusks below with helmet tusks above. At any rate, they mirror it now which is almost as good. :DÂ
Skrundle87
The beast is coming along amazingly mate, really loving the face on the guts, really cool how the two tie together, with a bit of paint it'll seem it's meant to be like that, making me want to redo mine or make another haha Also the risk do look sweet, I agree with Jeff I'd be curious to see them turned up though Edited July 10, 2014 by Skrundle87
KrautScientist
Again, thanks for the positive feedback, everyone! That surely motivates me to keep my focus on this rather huge project ;)@ JeffTibbetts:Those fiend armour plates are slightly frustrating because they perfectly fit the legs just up until the point where I had to attach the legs to the pelvis area and add the leg pistons. They now sit at a rather awkward angle, unless I cut out a significant amount of plastic -- and I'm not quite sure I'm up to it yet ;) Â @ skrundle: Cheers, mate! Your opinion was especially important to me because your own Knight has been such a wonderful source of inspiration! Glad you like my version so far! :) Skrundle87 1 Back to top

Biohazard
Loving the daemon face on the torso mate. I'd maybe look at cutting the top eye away as well to make it look more like a fitted armour plate. As for the leg plates I have to agree with Jeff that they need a little work. Instead of cutting is there no way you can maybe bend them more to shape? Borrow your partners hairdryer and have a go. It may just help a little. Â I should add I have yet to see one of these kits in the flesh so have no idea of the layout at the top vs the fiend plates. Just throwing some ideas your way. That means alot man, cheers, can't wait for the rest   Nothing but the truth, 'squire!  @ Biohazard: Cheers, buddy: The curvature of the armour plates is not the problem here, though: In principle, those armour plates fit onto the legs almost perfectly. It's only when the leg pistons and pelvis area get in the way that the problem starts...  That said, I did buckle up in the end and shaved off quite a bit of the armour plates. They now fit much better, I think:  http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2014/7/12/629333-Chaos%2C%20Chaos%20Knight%2C%20Chaos%20Space%20Marines%2C%20Conversion%2C%20Harrowthorne%2C%20Imperial%20Knight.JPG  As you can see, I also cut off the lower part of the "crotch plate", because I wanted the slightly chaotic decoration on the banner to be visible.  I also started assembling the Knight's chainsword arm. While this may be disappointing to some of you, I'll definitely stick with the standard weaponry that comes with the kit because the combination of a cannon of some sort and a huge chainsword is such an iconic part of Knight Titans for me. That said, both arms will of course get decorations to make them look more chaotic. Oh, and let me also add that the construction of those arms is extremely clever, making them very poseable and easily attachable to the model without a drop of glue!  Anyway, here's the Knight as it stands right now:  http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2014/7/12/629336-Chaos%2C%20Chaos%20Knight%2C%20Chaos%20Space%20Marines%2C%20Conversion%2C%20Harrowthorne%2C%20Imperial%20Knight.JPG  And, as suggested by JeffTibbetts, I reversed the direction of the tusks on the faceplate, in order to make them mirror the look of the tusks on the pelvis armour -- what do you think?  http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2014/7/12/629335-Chaos%2C%20Chaos%20Knight%2C%20Chaos%20Space%20Marines%2C%20Conversion%2C%20Harrowthorne%2C%20Imperial%20Knight.JPG  The other thing I did was to tidy up the conversion work on the model for Baron Harrowthorne: He now has a left arm (and I also attached a small console on his left armrest in order to actually give his hand something to do). Take a look:  http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2014/7/12/629341-Chaos%2C%20Chaos%20Knight%2C%20Chaos%20Space%20Marines%2C%20Conversion%2C%20Harrowthorne%2C%20Imperial%20Knight.JPG  http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2014/7/12/629337-Chaos%2C%20Chaos%20Knight%2C%20Chaos%20Space%20Marines%2C%20Conversion%2C%20Harrowthorne%2C%20Imperial%20Knight.JPG  http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2014/7/12/629338-Chaos%2C%20Chaos%20Knight%2C%20Chaos%20Space%20Marines%2C%20Conversion%2C%20Harrowthorne%2C%20Imperial%20Knight.JPG  http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2014/7/12/629339-Chaos%2C%20Chaos%20Knight%2C%20Chaos%20Space%20Marines%2C%20Conversion%2C%20Harrowthorne%2C%20Imperial%20Knight.JPG  http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2014/7/12/629340-Chaos%2C%20Chaos%20Knight%2C%20Chaos%20Space%20Marines%2C%20Conversion%2C%20Harrowthorne%2C%20Imperial%20Knight.JPG  The next huge task will be to actually construct the cockpit for the Knight's interior and somehow fit the Baron in tere, if only temporarily. I am currently waiting for a bitz delivery before I can finally tackle that part.  Anyway, let me know what you think!  http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2014/7/12/629334-Chaos%2C%20Chaos%20Knight%2C%20Chaos%20Space%20Marines%2C%20Conversion%2C%20Harrowthorne%2C%20Imperial%20Knight.JPG Edited July 12, 2014 by KrautScientist Biohazard, Battybattybats and daemonclaw 3 Back to top

Teetengee
Armour plates look great, but I prefer the tusks facing down to be honest. Although I don't know if they would interfere with the movement of the legs.
Battybattybats
Looks great!Think i prefer tusks pointing down... but i think i'd need some quarter-side-on angle pics of both to be sure, either way both look good i'm just not sure which i think looks best. The work on the baron's arm is excellent, the pose really strengthens the feeling of his personality. High Marshal Sigfeird
Very cool I had a similar idea but game wise what do you use this as a lord of skulls ? KrautScientist
Cheers, guys! :) Â @ Teetengee: Oh, I was only referring to the tusks on the faceplate! The ones one the groin plate will definitely stay that way because turning them around would a) probably be pretty hard to pull off and b) indeed make them interfere with the legs. Â @ High Marshal Siegfeird: Hmm, if this guy does ever see a gaming table, I'll probably ask my opponent whether I can actually use him as a Knight allied to my CSM force (ignoring the allies matrix in the BRB). That said, using the model as a LoS would be an option as well... The throne was build from half a Space Marine Landspeeder cockpit, btw.

Teetengee
You are allowed to ally the knight, it just has to stay 12" away from the rest at the beginning (and will suffer from one eye open).

KrautScientist
Thanks, guys! :)  @ Teetengee: Yeah, I know. But seeing how so much of 7th edition seems to be all about customising the game to fit your taste, I would probably rather ask my opponent whether I can use the Knight and/or my Traitor Guard as regular allies without having to follow the, frankly rather arbitrary, official allies matrix. Then again, I am only ever playing friendly games, so it shouldn't be much of a problem.Work on the Knight continues in small but important steps. Here's what I managed to achieve yesterday:http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2014/7/13/629505-Chaos%2C%20Chaos%20Knight%2C%20Chaos%20Space%20Marines%2C%20Conversion%2C%20Harrowthorne%2C%20Imperial%20Knight.JPGhttp://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2014/7/13/629506-Chaos%2C%20Chaos%20Knight%2C%20Chaos%20Space%20Marines%2C%20Conversion%2C%20Harrowthorne%2C%20Imperial%20Knight.JPGThe most noticeable addition is the use of etched brass: A small Khorne rune for the face plate, a World Eaters legion badge for the heraldic tilting plate and a bigger Khornate symbol for the hatch leading to the cockpit:http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2014/7/13/629507-Chaos%2C%20Chaos%20Knight%2C%20Chaos%20Space%20Marines%2C%20Conversion%2C%20Harrowthorne%2C%20Imperial%20Knight.JPGYou may also have noticed that, after going back and forth about this several times, I returned to the downwards pointed tusks on the faceplate -- they simply look more balanced that way. I also tried different tusks and horns in several configurations - among them two different pairs of horns from that huge WFB Beastman monster - but bigger horns only ended up looking silly. I am really rather content with the tusks as they are now, because they are big enough to be noticeable but not so big as to be distracting or ridiculous.Oh, and I also worked on the left shoulder pad. Here's what it looks like now:http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2014/7/13/629508-Chaos%2C%20Chaos%20Knight%2C%20Chaos%20Space%20Marines%2C%20Conversion%2C%20Harrowthorne%2C%20Imperial%20Knight.JPGWhile I always liked the Knight model per se, it's now actually starting to feel like this could indeed be a pretty awesome centrepiece model when finished. Wish me luck! ;)http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2014/7/13/629509-Chaos%2C%20Chaos%20Knight%2C%20Chaos%20Space%20Marines%2C%20Conversion%2C%20Harrowthorne%2C%20Imperial%20Knight.JPGAnd, as always, let me know what you think! :)http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2014/7/13/629510-Chaos%2C%20Chaos%20Knight%2C%20Chaos%20Space%20Marines%2C%20Conversion%2C%20Harrowthorne%2C%20Imperial%20Knight.JPG Battybattybats and Ammonius 2 Back to top
