This I may try some freehand on. Plenty of areas to try in too. But no, I won't be putting any big totem-pole type things on it. Partly due to storage but also because it doesn't make sense to me to have something drawing more attention to where things are and could cause issues like driving under power lines. In Fantasy I'm all for benners etc. But not so hoy on it for 40k.

So, SlaveToDarkness said "pix or it didn't happen" when I said I'd finished the gold areas. Well...here's the proof

As you can see, there's not too much left to do now so a second vow should be possible. Also, I need to work on taking photos. Shame I'm having to use my phone. Oh well.

That is the first time I have ever completed an ETL vow! So what's next for the painting treatment...

2nd vow time. One Stormblade for the Divine Flayers and one Khârn because, well, it'll be something different. Only one month though so better crack on.

Aboslutely stunning work. Those pics with the background are really well done.

 

The Ahriman Sorceror conversion is still my favorite  and I've begun working on my own. Will post pics once it looks somewhat presentable but its more of a side project and very rough WIP right now.

Well the plan of airbrushing the Stormsword is well out the window. Had to get a starting point though so out with the large drybrush and the old wall tile.

VMC black grey/dark blue grey mix with a bit of glaze medium.

Unsure whether to add some camo marks by mixing olive green into a grey. Trying for ash camo after all.

Don't panic. There will be Divine Flayers colours on there. They've not had it long.

Thank you for looking at my Divine Flayers thread when I add various ramblings. 

 

I'm changing how I use this particular thread after the recent layout changes to B&C (which work pretty well personally). I'll not be including my ETL III WIP updated here. Only completions. This is due to me having THIS THREAD for my ETL progress in the Chaos forum already. I'll still be keeping my WIP thread full of all of that too.

 

Once the ETL is over this will be my 'everything Slaanesh and Divine Flayers' area in the Chaos realms.

Nice forte. You need bikes though. Bikes converted into glorious choppers.

They're in mind. Though I don't like the chopper look personally.

Crotch-rockets*, kind of Dark eldar/racing style I think would be the slaanesh version. Bikes that can go to the extreme, not some lazy chopper.

It's that time again. Time to deal with some more Chaotic and brightly coloured miniatures. You really don't know when the Call will come so it'll be good to be ready when it happens.

I've thrown the idea of building an actual army for gaming out of the window as I find I get too caught up in what I still need to paint rather than looking at what I want to paint. So there's a high chance I'll end up with a mixture of squads and HQ models which may not be the most effective on the table top. But you never know, the colours may put opponents off.

So then...how far have I actually got. Well, being honest, not very. I've recently started a new job after being unemployed for far too long and as most people know, a bit routine change throws you for a little while. But what I have done is to got through bits and sprues to find the main parts as I'll show here...

Noise Marine Squad:

This member I started a while back and is the closest to gaining paint. Just a few green stuff details and a re-basing as I no longer like the base I originally made so I'll do the whole squad together.

One Champion with Power Sword. Planning to remove the star and chain from infront of the cloth and maybe figure out a Doom Siren to magnetise for Kill Team.

And the rest. May magnetise the two bolters that are held two handed too and make a couple of Sonic Blasters, also for Kill Team options.

Daemon Prince:

Yup, it's the metal beauty with plastic wings. Going to leave the shoulder armour off for a bit more skin and I have some other things in mind too. As for the hands though, I have a couple of options:

The left claw hand will happen either way.

There is also a Chaos Spawn in mind which has been on the cards since last years Call of Chaos. Got to have a good look and play with the ol blue tac fr that though.
