Ah, so a fixed neutron laser then? I've (poorly) magnetised the hinges so it can move up and down and I'm considering finding a piece to fit the other end to allow it to moonlight as a Typhon. But then, I'm daft like that.

I was halfway thinking about doing something similar, but then I remembered that the Iron Hands some sophisticated chaps and that they wouldn't lower themselves to using no phalic laser tech on their big toys.

 

If I ever get a Typhon, it will be a WE one ;)

I would need some counsel on how to manage my new side project, with is supposed to be a "small" force of World Eaters. I am having a hard time making my mind as to where I want to place my force, and with what kind of background to build on. Competitive edge is no really important to me in this case, and I am looking to run a Wrath of the Angel style of list. 

 

Now, My main contention points are:

 

- Loyalist or Misunderstood. Do I want to go pre-Angron warhounds with a predatory fleet type thing or a loyal company that was left aside or scattered in the wind with Isstvan cleansing?

- If terran heavy or loyalist, make them wield chain swords chain axes or both?

Heresy-wise, I don't see a problem with using chain axes on Loyalists. It's really only after the Heresy that chain axes become more of a Traitors-only thing, IMO, obviously.

I started with a small force of World Eaters, and well, I still have a small force of World Eaters but, apart from the Mechanicum stuff, I plan to have a large force of World Eaters. Honestly I have fallen in love with them, they are simple, a blunt instrument but that doesn't mean you can't take whatever you want (accept snipers, only weapon I can't see them using one they nails got installed). Also once you become one of us a nice man comes round and does a simple brain operation.

Chainaxes?  Really...?  You seriously need to ask ? ;)  Of course Chainaxes!  So much so I even had to model some on my Death Guard (wow how did these get mentioned in here, sorry!) are sporting Chainaxes (modelling purposes only).  I blame Relict, he tipped me over the edge with his 30k WE thread, I blame my Astartes with axes and spiked shoulder pads on the Legion exchange programme!

 

As for Loyalist or Misunderstood... it depends on how you personally feel about their direction.  I'm a loyalist at heart, I like to think my legion astartes had a mind of their own, a brain if you like, not ones easily fooled by the wool pulled over their eyes.  Sure, I feel a bit conflicted about whether I see my astartes as dedicated to their Primarch yet stayed loyal.  Fluff-Justifying a loyalist force of a traitor legion that is modeled around the Isstvan III timeline can easily fall on cliches, so I kind of have several concepts about their background that fit what I enjoy depending on the scenarios I fluff them through.  But the key point being that I sport heresy era equipment bordering on the near unseen until the conflict, I have to justify the list mostly as Loyalist castaways if you like (yes, don't ask how my new Praevian is now sporting MkVI, he just is, blame it on the mechanicum :D ).

I am leaning towards MKII heavy army with a sprinkle of MKIII. In my mind, even if they did get MKIV, they would probably just shrug it off. No one really cared for them, and it took for Lorgar to go out of his way to save Angron.

 

World Eater never got the respect they deserved under the leadership of their primarch and would have probably been dead last to receive new marks. I am leaving the fancy stuff for Lorgar's book worms and the jocks of the XVI.

 

With that in mind, I will definitely mix and match the weapons, and come up with some exotic ones as well.

 

Now comes the tricky part of going loyalist or traitor. I still don't know. I always wanted to take a shot at a more armoured version of Karn, since bare arms isn't what I had in mind.

Go Loyalist. All of the savagery, none of the corruption. Actually, probably even more savage, because they'd be even angrier (is that even possible for WEs?) at their traitorous brethren. 
And if you do go Loyalist, you can make your up-armored version of Khârn your Praetor, we'll call him 'not-Khârn' as a placeholder name for now.

World Eaters should get an axe wielding contemptor, preferably oversized versions of the red butchers' axes.

Well, Slipstream let the cat out of the bag so, here are some WIP pics of my Deredeo. I hated to boat prow so I cut it out and resculted a chest. I now have work on smoothing it out and add some wiring.

I will be slaping on heavy bolters, I just haven't decided how yet. I am currently working on so Looted Ork vehicles for a friend, so my time is a little stretched. I really wish I could post my Xenos work ;)
