Magnus is looking awesome!

 

The wings really catch my eyes. The colors look great so I cannot wait to see him finished up.

Exactly! There are some amazing renditions of Magnus popping up around the internet but almost all of them follow the GW scheme with maybe some minor variations on the tone of the red...

In case anyone thinks I have forgotten my Thousand Sons, may I present my Scarab Occult. Complete with missile rack and soul reaper. These were done as part of my Squaduary event on my website. I might try some decals on them and all.

Thanks I stumbled on that idea quite late in the process, I wanted them to look like properly ancient.

Darn autocorrect thing on the iPad! I meant to say "for not jumping..." in my earlier post! Although I do think I'd rather be one of those sorcerers who remained flesh and blood ;)

 

I had a small TS force being built up and BOOM, Burning of Prospero kicked out followed by the sweet Thousand Sons revamped line. And I stopped working on them to concentrate on my EC. When I go to the GW store and see those new plastic Sons, Ahriman, the scarab occult, the man himself: Magnus I get weak in the knees.

Magnus is a bit of beast, great model. I have finished mine off and not shown pictures of it yet actually, I should get around to that.

 

I cannot afford to buy new Rubrics, keeping my old conversion kit ones.

Now that I am looking at it again I quite like it. It makes me think of the Sanguinary deathmasks.

I am still back and forth on it myself, some folks have pointed out the Imperial Fists might go for something less blinged out. So I might try another option and compare the two.

Is that one of the evil kraft minis? *that makes it sound like a brand that makes evil Macaroni and cheese. Whatever that brand is they do make some cool looking bits. I think they have jump pack assault marines who look phenomenal as well as their versions of the Havocs.

 

Love the Iron Warriors! It's crazy too because I have the plastic cataphractii squad built similarly and they are getting prepped to become Iron Within.

Good call. I think the cataphtactii work very well as Iron Warriors, they are just so very solid looking. you can well imagine them weathering a storm of fire to advance on the enemy.

This is just me, but I don't personally think the death mask is fitting for the Imperial fists. They are more into the knight looking helmets. Again, that's just me

That is fair and I get that, there is a lot of back and forth about that helmet to be honest, partially the reason I haven't painted it yet.
