I think that the pelvis would work, you just have it at the wrong angle. It should be at about 90 degrees in the relative to the spine - in a bird it tilts downwards, in a human its roughly horizontal and in a dog it is nearly vertical.

Currently as you have it it is at about a 135 degree angle relative to the 'spine' if you tilted it more towards the horizontal I think it would look more anatomically correct

I think I mentioned before about having a bit of a painting bug and most of that itch is well on it's way to being scratched thanks to a bolt action project me and a friend have been doing.

But the good news for this is not only have I had a play with some water filter beads on the plague marine that the desire to do more building and converting is now becoming an Itch that will need scratching (maybe even a little bit this evening.)

However for today you'll notice I've renamed this thread to a plog so I'll be covering more of the bits and pieces I have on the go including some demons and other bits as I try to get some more units painted up for my Black legion. Still going to be a bit on and off as I have a couple of Master's degree modules to do and a diploma for work.

For today though I've been looking at the plague marine and not realy happy with the bland lack of focus points. A water filter cartridge later and a few inspirational web searches (link appear to now be dead)

I came up with this.

Depending on the kids getting to sleep before 9 tonight I'll probably grab my working boxes down and set up to add the boils to the rest of the Squad and have a play with the knight.

What do people think to the changes?

So I find myself once again away from home for work, but this time it's in the UK and I have a hire Car through work. That means boot space which was unloaded earlier as can be seen above.

Now there are two things to note, yes that is my knight standing on the miniature box from Dark imperium, however the plague marines have been left at home for a number of reasons, including;

a) me being a Black legion player and needing to get my stuff in order and see what I can use on the table.

b.) Wanting to get some additional stuff (blightkings for instance) to make a suitable size balance between the old models I have and the new.
c) The daemon Knight is for the blood god so I should really work on them as well.

So I've set myself a challenge while away for approximately 3 weeks in Falmouth and as

I don't have a 'good guy' army with Chaos, Nids, Orks and some Dark Eldar in various stages of usability, yet most of my mates play Imperium or Eldar.
I've wanted space marines for some time (since playing Chaos Gate way back when) and have numerous kits ready and un assembled.
I keep buying box sets and they get packed aways to barely see the light of day.

So my plan is this,

1) Between now and heading home on friday for the weekend to build and convert up the contents of Dark imperiums Primarius marines as Storm Paladins a home brew chapter that will combine old and new and play with the friction between these new boys and the old marines.

2) Spray undercoat the lot at the weekend

3) On returning next monday start to paint up the primarius marines with a mind to have them finished before heading home on friday the 14th of July.
4) Not fail utterly.

5) do some more sculpting work on the knight and do the primarius while the GS hardens.

so 21 models in 21 days wish me luck.

Yup UK born a bread it's just my last few work trips have had me off to south Korea so limited by plane baggage. This time I drove down and filled the boot with kits.

For the Marines I've always wanted to do a very Paladin/Knight chapter with loads of heraldry and so this sprew here will be donating some parts.

I've just clipped my first Inceptor off the sprue and and have a small pile of cleaned up bits in front of me.

Since I came back the apartment a little early to let some files download to use tomorrow I'm going o send some emails and then dive out to get food and get some Blu Tack so WIP pictures can achieved.

Right first tacked together model.

med_gallery_88567_13346_296994.png med_gallery_88567_13346_396321.png

So I've now glued the legs and arms with the head seperate when I paint and the backpack will also stay tacked.

It took me a while to get the photos uploaded as I'd forgotten to resize after cropping and didn't notice the file size was 2.09mb so while cursing at that I actually worked through on the next two which I'm just about to photo now.

The next two are basically done with the whole unit now mocked up.

The heraldic helmet crests are still tacked on but I'm liking the look of them, the jump packs will be tacked on until after painting as will the MK3 helmets otherwise everything else is glued.

More work tonight and I've done an Intercessor Squad, the ancient and lieutenant with bolt rifle.

It's too late to go through and Sort all the pictures so I have a couple here for to tide over till tomorrow.

med_gallery_88567_13346_385896.png

I'm going to have to start to come up with names soon as well.

Your wish is my command.

med_gallery_88567_13346_119967.png

Lieutenant with Auto Boltrifle, A former meber of the captain's command squad and marksman, wounded during the company's journey to find civilisation after the events of the gathering storm he was one of the first Storm paladins to undergo the procedure to a Primaris saving his life though extensive facial reconstructions was needed.
His heresy era stud bonded let paldron deflected the shot that ruined his face saving his life, though destroying the Mk2 relic helmet. In recognition of his wargears sacrifice the paldron was repaired and incorporated into his MkX armour along with the a crest on his helmet.

Any my ancient with a new and more Knightly standard. I'll be doing some greenstuff work on the pennants and making the attachment point to the pole better.

Anyway as alwys let me know your thoughts, I'll be naming all of the models in my force so suggestions are welcome. (Just like Augustus b'Raass and his amazing Imperial fists.)

Loving the toy dinosaur addition, you've fitted it well.

The only worry I have with the pose is that he may start to look like his falling over, not charging. I imagine that will be down to the position of the head? He certainly looks mean from the front.

I think you may have missed a page or two Mike he's had a significant repose since the charging pose and He's now ripping a Wraithknight corpse apart. with the extensive Greenstuff work it got a bit to heavy for only one leg down on the base.

I did get some more sculpting on him last night round the hips even if it was only a little bit.

Yup just the blutack it falls off without.

Fluff wise I intend a lot more and will flesh it out as I paint them.

Basic Idea is that a company of Storm Paladins left in search of aid during the warp storms.

Bad stuff happens and they got a fair bit of a mauling but eventually reach parts of the Indomitus Crusade many of them are badly injured and some are put through the process to become Primaris and in the process recovering a number of them from their from Sus-an hibernation who may have had to be interned in dreadnaughts or eventually die.

Once the Captain recovered from his transition and injuries he meets with leaders of the crusade force and finds out what's going on before accepting the Primaris technology and intends to set out to join his Chapter, turning down large reinforcements of Primaris a number of them are accepted to help them return home. These are marines who have formed a bond with the chapter during their training and assisting those who didn't go through the process while their captain was out of the loop.

One such sargent and his squad is my next built unit, they have accepted the chapter badge on the right pauldron and the sergeant has been gifted with a sword of status but they haven't selected their heraldry yet.

med_gallery_88567_13346_865458.png

I'm about to head home to essex for the weekend before coming back on monday, I'll be leaving the part built models here as I;ve got blt action stuff to paint up and finish if there is any hobby time.

Plan is to finish the last few guys early next week and get spraying wednesday evening if possible.

Just need to work out something for crests and heraldry as I only had the one box of bretonnians so I had a limited supply and now they are OOP I'll have to see what's best for future models.
