The New HH Box (Highly Likely to be Prospero) - Happy?

Depends when it comes out. The hobby funds took a hammering recently with stuff at home needing sorted out, so I am going to have to make a hard choice between getting Russ or this, if thy come out at around the same time.

 

beyond Atia saying it is coming out very soon, I there anything more concrete, or are we still wish listing what we want in the box?

 

Also if it is Wolves vs T-Son specific, anyone want to swap their Wolves for my T-Sons?

Still just wish listing. Don't know if it's Legion Specific or not. We're just going to have to wait for pics.

Aye, I'm hoping it ends up being generic as well. If it ends up being Thousand Sons vs Space Wolves specific, I can't imagine it being quite the hot piece that BaC was(and is) for kickstarting and/or beefing up a 30k force.

Now, A Legion specific character or two wouldn't be too bad, but, the general marines should definitely just be generic...Preferably Mk.III generic. Plastic Mk.III is at the absolute top of my wishlist.

Agreed. My local GW store Manager suggested Tartaros terminators being included, and also a Tartaros character. I wouldn't be thrilled to discover they are Legion-specific, as I wish to theme my Pride of the Legion Night Lords around that armour design.

And I basically visit this thread daily looking for leaked images. I can't wait.

But I don't like how Wolfy McWolfface the GW kits became, I definitely preferred tbe old kits which were standard marines with a few bits here and there and diluted my Wolf Packs down heavily, I reckon one or two boxes of those will do my two copies of B@C with a couple of the Torso kits from FW.

 

Let us choose just how much of a particular Legion flavour we want to add.

I believe the release will coincide with the new HH rulebook for kSons and puppies so this one could be more tweaked towards these legions... and I have this feeling they will both be very popular.

Oh, I need plastic Tartaros. Ten or 20 of those in addition to the 25~30 odd Imperial Fist Terminators i have already would be glorious on the TT. I really do hope the box is at least somewhat generic.

 

... I also need Mark II and III for something I'm making for Dosjetka. While I obviously can order it all from Forge World, I'd rather not if I can help it. :P

Lets be honest, it's got to be a generic set which will then break down into smaller boxes to add to the 30k Horus heresy line.

If they don't, why would they create that line just for the BaC units?

Mk3 will be an interesting addition and will make good line Astartes. I think box composition is likely to be 30 Mk3 marines, 5 Terminators of a flavour, 2 characters (probably not the 1k sorcerer, again so it can be generic) and then something big and shiny.

The reason I don't think the 1k sorceror will be in the box, is because they usually only include that type of character frame in special boxes - Shield of Baal, Death Masque and the other campaign boxes (Broodlord, Wolfy guy etc) with a proper release later on.

if we have generic characters and units, they can be used to switch sides (like BaC) they can be mass marketed afterwards (at inflated prices) and they're much more marketable.

I dont know, I think that's exactly what they're doing.

 

Some of the older rumours claimed that this box was finished by the time B@C was released. That's a year of production time which seems pretty solid.

I think there has been a lot of stalling on both fronts (GW and FW) to ensure that these releases coincide. From a sales point of view, that would be very smart.

 

Again, I have no inside info or proof on this. It's just some educated guessing and it's what I would do if I was GW.

Ftr I don't have a problem with SoS or Custodes being in plastic/being in the next B@C box. Plastic means I'll have more real world money for more real world things.

FW said not Bjorn. They didn't say no Space Wolf Characters: they're just going to focus on the characters that actually are important to the Space Wolves Legion as a whole, at the time of the burning of Prospero.

 

I don't have a mega problem with Sisters of Silence or Custodes. Having both of them in (I suspect one Custodes max, possibly 5 Sisters, more likely 3) means that they'll have to seriously limit the number of Space Wolves compared to Thousand Sons. Having the cadre of Sisters vs. a Legion-Castellax (from the TSs allied Forge World) would probably have made more sense from a balance perspective imo. We'll just have to see how this goes.

Problem is that so far there are no important Space Wolves characters to date.

 

Most are passing references or die or are not mentioned on Prospero.

 

So even though Bjorn is not a captain or what have you he is about the only wolf character with any continuation within the Heresy setting.

 

Hope yhe plastic is Ahriman and Hathor Maat or Phosis T'Kar get the resin treatment.

 

Ahriman was not that omportant during yhe HH as his psyker powers were waning while other castes powers were on the ascendancy.

 

Dick move by FW would be to give SW Lord Gunn as special character because he dies immediately sfter Prospero so it is a dwad end character and cant be used in a progressive manner such as Abaddon Polux etc...

Aun HelWintur, Ogvai Helmshrot, and Amlohdi Skarssensson would all make solid choices.  They've got important places within the legion as of Prospero and they continue to hold those offices through the war.  Gunn and Wyrdmake do both die reasonably early, but we've got a Ferrus Manus model so who knows?

Sad thing is I'm not sure which one is the dick l, as I thought they both were.

 

Then again, most of Wrydmake came from A Thousand Sons, which I thought was a pretty poor novel.

Most of the unique characters in the Heresy were created by BL.  And a character doesn't have to live through the whole war to be important.

 

And Saul Tarvitz has rules, so being dead (or at least he better be dead) and in the books isn't just reserved for primarchs.

Guys, I really don't think it matters if the new set is "marked" or not and it wont matter either way as long as the models are not press fit single molds like DV units are. If the shoulder pads are marked it's easy enough to get access to MKII or III shoulder pads (whichever they are going to be). 

 

I wouldn't be surprised if it was the Characters only that had markings on them.

What would be nice is a set of MKIII with options for assault squads and tartaros termies. The assault marines work well for Wolves, and the termies could be painted up as TSons pretty easily by GW.

Gotta say, a plastic Valdor does sound pretty awesome......but I'd prefer FW handled the Custodes.
