I’m not certain, given the day he has had, but I have a feeling Brynjarr would be honour bound to intervene if you tried to kill Mathias at this point.

So erm, don’t, please.

What kind of monster do you take me for? :unsure.:

Would you really want to rob Vesalius of someone to operate upon?

Assuming, of course, that we're not dealing with a Callidus assassin or a genestealer or similar.

Operate out of curiosity, yes, out of necessity for the operatee, no.

Post mortem, err, could go either way, did he die deserving of a honorable funeral?

Edit: Realized on reading this back that it is more than a little ambiguous. so for clarity he would try to stop operation that are unnecessary for the health of the patient.

Care to donate some Marines Errant gene seed?

If I had some in a handy container, maybe. :tongue.:

Brynjarr, on character creation, used Marine Errant rules as a template on account of the Void specialization, but he is not actually of that lineage.

One who has secrets to hide, and might not want to be saddled with someone who could makes this harder???

@Mazer - What type of Monster do we believe Orphiel to be? Hmm, a stone cold killer, a calculating scheming Dark Angel kind of monster probably.

@Necro - Watch it those words could describe Draak's lineage. Better than he was, Stronger, Faster.

@Trokair - Oh well back to the Chapter guessing game then Frater.

Anyway I hope that the story doesn't get all sickly nice with this kid. If he's heard the legends he's probably also heard of the Iron Gods too. We're hard nuts and we will deliver him to Talek Varn who will put him with his other initiates that he's been collecting. The juve is then just one more to the grinder. We all know the score hundreds of initiates go in one end and a handful go through the training and become Scouts.

(Edit: typo)

If he dies in training because he is not good enough that is his problem.

Right now it is a combination of the audacity, courage and desperation of what he has attempted that would have earned him a little temporary respect, so it be a shame for him to die on a whim.

I mean his doctor would be Vesalius, who has a track record of wanton cruelty, so it wouldn't be all sunshine and rainbows. Not to mention also that despite being a sweet bro, Talek Varn is probably not above using child soldiers and committing war crimes.

Edit: war crimes by our stodgy modern standards.

Edit 2: Is Talek Varn a sweet bro despite or because of the war crimes?

This 40K where everyone is the Bad Guy even the Good Guy

@MR, as a father, I deeply appreciate your latest post in the IC thread. Kudos!

Couldn't agree more (mine's 15 and just about taller than me already!), that was a superb post MR!

In line with our GM's most recent post, should the position in the pillbox be overrun, I think it would be smart for those stationed there to have a plan to fall back to the convent with covering fire provided by anyone stationed on the wall.

If anyone has anything they would like to add, now would be a good time? It was not my intention to dictate what the squad does, I was just offering my suggestion for a course of action. As @CM is piloting our intrepid squad-leader, would the Traveller do anything differently in this circumstance?

Okay, other than booby trapping the bridge, I have a plan. How feasible is it for Svelk to hide on the underside of the bridge or on the wall on the opposite side of the canyon from us?

Also, is the bridge being mined, or sabotaged so that the supports collapse? I'm assuming the former.

Yep, either should be ok? I see it as a single span arch bridge, so no central supports/pillars, just plasteel supports built into the face of the chasm at either end of the bridge. So Svelk could hide beneath it at either end, but at the centre the arch is probably getting a bit narrow to hide a fully armoured (and jump packed!) Marine? Or he should be able to find a ledge on the chasm face on either side?

Necro has it right, anti-tank rather than anti-bridge, but when we start the battle I'll handle the booby trapping in the set up.

Hmm, good point, although I think most of the team are ok for FP (several are on full?) Vesalius was down to 0, but I rewarded Necro with a couple more for a nice bit of RP so he's back up to 2.

The Traveller is down to 1 atm though... tell you what, I'm just going to post a bit of a key development for his side plot. EDIT: Done! Write me something nice in response and I'll rain down copious showers of FPs upon you!! ;)
