Thanks very much. I’m having so much fun making this army. It’s an opportunity for me to reference and pay homage to all the things marines have ever meant to me, and do it with my favourite chapter.

Servo skulls. I’ve always hated he scout models and lore and even the black Templar neophytes don’t do it for me. So instead my blood angels will have servo skulls, an iconic part of 40k since very early on. I’m just sketching them out right now. The skulls from the box are pretty tiny, so I’ll have to use lots of guitar wire and gubbinz to make them work.

Another five blood angels base coated. I’m not fully decided which colours these will have yet. There is a sanguinary priest and maybe a silver boy in here to pay homage to some old artwork

one of them is an homage to the silver chaplain from an old art piece. If anyone remembers where it first appeared I’d be much obliged. I imagine him as a sort of novitiate into the Reclusiam 

 

the sanguinary priest needs some blue tones to distance the mini from its death guard origins

Reclusiarch. I added some scripture to his shoulder pad. Now I need to go back in with liquid metal gold so he stands out from the death company

Yesterday I started some work on a standard bearer. It always bugged me that the sanguinary guard kit had a vertical gonfalon instead of a horizontal standard. It would be a nightmare with a jump pack. So I made one out of a wine foil. Just blocking in shapes for now

Outrider sergeant more or less finished. I haven’t done the last weathering yet as I’m thinking of changing the bases for the army

Back to work on a landraider for the tactical marines. I took a break from it after I was happy with the base colour. Now I’m adding heraldry, inscriptions and graffiti

It is indeed. Although incredibly frustrating. I had to redo that panel three times to make the lines even vaguely straight
