Ah, this is what I was asking about earlier, with regard to how many items we can try to Acquire at any given point... I've tried (and failed) for 2, but I've got 3IP, so I could have a go for 1 other thing, right?

Regrettably, it is not. A fusion power plant does not, under normal conditions, produce promethium fuel, good sir.

A Flamer may give Energy damage, but does not use it as fuel.

(happy to have this set up in such a way that I would have to choose to use either the infernus pistol or hand flamer in a round but not both simultaneously)

On my reading, unless you have TWWB then you wouldn't be able to anyway. Still need the prereq to shoot with both hands, and you don't have OHBD in this game. Plus you can't Quickdraw your Inferno pistol because of the cable, so you'd be down to Half-Action, and you couldn't use both guns at the same time regardless, because you can't make Attack; Ranged twice in the same turn.

If you want a Hand-flamer vambrace, by all means scorch your knuckles to your heart's content, but it will have to reload as normal. Note down on your sheet which hand it's getting bolted to, and pray it doesn't get shot. :teehee:

Yes.

In rebuttal, good sir, may I direct your attention to the wording of Power Supply Tampering on p.176 of the BC CRB:

"Power Supply Tampering: The Power supply of the armour has been augmented to provide more power and to output that power into attached weaponry. A character can attach any Pistol or Basic Las weapon or any Pistol Melta, Plasma, or Flame weapon (emphasis mine). That weapon no longer requires reloading, never running out of ammunition unless the power supply is disabled. Additionally, the weapon is connected by a thick cable and may not benefit from the Quick Draw Talent."

Now, I agree in principle and practice that SM power supplies do not, in fact, run off of prometheum, but I just thought I'd point out that it's technically supported in the RAW. I'm flexible either way.

Hmm, let's go for something a little more reasonable... how about a Grapnel and Line, that could actually be quite useful if we need to go clambering around the platform?

Acquisition Test:

Rarity: Average +1 (for Good Quality, increases weight load for Astartes use) = Scarce (+0)

Single: +10

Crux'as mod: +10

Inf30 +20 = 50, Roll: 37, Pass!

I had considered one of those for myself as well.  Might borrow that from you if the need arises.

Edit: How my brain is envisaging Obi & Varne at the moment:

Now does it, you little scamp?

I'm going to grant you your wish.

Spoiler

I do sincerely apologize if it feels like I'm battering anyone, and I do mean anyone, about the ears with the CRB (I can't afford to cover the cost of any concussion treatments or resultant brain damage). I'm just really passionate about and have a deep affection for this deeply flawed gem of a game.

Interestingly, one of the very old wargear bits for Astartes Dreadnoughts was that their Multimelta could be fired on a broad or a focused pattern, counting as a heavy flamer when on the wide setting... if you keep both pistols (but you can't fire them at the same time) you could almost fluff it as one gun with the variable focus...

Or at least that the Flamer isn't firing promethium, but rather super heated air (but on a dispersed setting)?

Oh, I had completely forgotten about that - that’s  really a neat idea!
Double points considering the first box dread metal model with a multi Mehta was the BA one IIRC, so it’s perfectly fitting for our Lamenter!

( Also edited my post - I thought Varne and Obi had taken their stroll earlier… should make more sense now )

Alright gents, if you've posts or placeholders, get them in some time before tomorrow afternoon (1200hrs Zulu - GMT) and we'll kill this Session and wrap for the start of your Undertakings.

Be advised I don't plan to offer much XP for this as it was a bootstrap for the next phase of Part II.

XP and You:

All Players recieve:

  • 150xp

Questions and shouting below as per.

@Mazer Rackham since Atesh is ont he ship loading supplies, he has no real need to hide his mutations, right?  Atesh wouldn't be ashamed of a bird beak, he'd see it as a mark of pride in a 'friendly' setting.  My point being, none of the crew are gonna have serious reservations about mutants?

None whatsoever. You don't have to hide anything on board the Razor or the Dredge.

Banking XP for now

Yup, same. I did have 50 banked already so I could spend 200 on something, but Swift Attack is only 300 now Hagga is Khorne Dedicated, so I think I'll hold off for that?

Alright gentlemen, mission launch is in a couple of hours. Please note if you have not discussed Tertiary Objectives with me by now, it is too late - we can delay no longer. If it's any compensation, I won't be bothering overmuch with complications. The plot is locked in, and since I've heard nothing from the mortals about where they want to put down, I'm going to land them right in the capital, and since Ikka's going with the RT buyer route this would make sense.

We will focus on the Mortal players first since their mission launches first.

Final Acq test:

Acquisition (Reaper Autocannon)

  • Disposition (-10)
  • 3 Infamy Points (+30)
  • Extremely Rare (-30)
  • Single Item (+10)
  • Poor Quality (+10)

Infamy: 30

Target: 40

Roll: 23 (Pass)

Spoiler

Rules Q: Since I passed by enough to not actually need to go Poor Quality, do I find one that's Common? I'm guessing not - made my bed and all that

Honestly, I tried to think of some kind of tertiary for this for Obi and nothing really made any sense.  Sorry.

Seriously don't sweat it. We're still early enough in the game for Player to plot. Some of you have ideas for where you want to go, others don't. TBF, for Undivided, not plotting anything makes more sense character wise.

Having said that - take a look at Obi and have a think about how he would like to progress. Tertiaries can come from anywhere, so perhaps an agreement with Varne about watching his back, or maybe there's someone who represents the face of what Obi hates, he'd like to kill them, that kind of thing.

Afraid so. We shall now dub this mighty new weapon, the 'JamCannon'.

It does not fire fruit preserve, but may the dice gods preserve us all from the indiscriminate injustice it will no doubt mete out. :pirate:
