I'd suggest the colours of a non-local, but not totally unknown, Navy Battlefleet? (I know this ship won't be able to pretend it's actual IN, but don't the Merchant Fleets /Chartist Captains often paint their ships to match the colours of their local Battlefleet?)

Too late...sadly....

All I can say is that Mojake shouldn't be a Ghostbuster.

I can't wait.

How would you like one to do this? Is Varne already assumed to be signed into it?

You must wait until midnight, then, naked and covered in green jelly, you must brave the rampant wildebeest. If you should survive, ye may apply for this here accord...:pirate: Fail, and we send ye to Davy Jones with yer pants on yer head!

Sounds great, thanks.

IIRC you should be signed up - if not, I can just update the Data thread.

This is a nav question you should reasonably know the answer to....but dies anyone have Navigation (Stellar)? Sounds like a good opportunity to use it...

Sorry, missed this. Do any PCs on this side of the split have Nav (Stellar)? I suspect it might not be a Red Corsair Astartes-y type of skill... can we not ask the ship's officers instead?

Also, I agree if we are a civvie vessel, it makes sense to claim we are part of a RT fleet, we are heading out on a mission to (whatever the nearby system is called) and will hopefully be back in a few weeks.

"Very good, sir. Your paperwork all appears to be in good ord-- hang on a minute! What are these eight-pointed stars?! And why do you have a hundred administratum adepts nailed to the prow of your ship?!"

"Ah, very perceptive, officer. These ornaments represent the eight virtues of the God-Emperor. As for the administratum adepts... The result of an unfortunate accident? Haven't had time to scrape the wreckage from the hull..."

'You mean the NINE virtues, peasant?'

Those are not mine, Officer. I think they belong to Oliver North…:whistling:

Was that the guy who directed Apocalypse Now?

Hmm, this is the response I've come up with for Hagga, if everyone agrees with it, I'll repost in the IC:

Hagga frowned. Telling lies, skulking and sneaking, were not in his nature. The negotiator, Crux’as, might have been useful at this point. Still, he had found that most mortals had an innate talent for falsehood.

He addressed the bridge at large.

“Tell them we are a Chartist ship, currently on contract with a Rogue Trader, and that we are on a private mission to whatever system is close enough to Kataris for us to travel there in the same time frame… but far enough away from it that we will not immediately be connected with the destruction of Nydax’ platform.”

“Make up the names of the Captain and our vessel as you wish. If any of you know of a real Trader House that usually operates far from the Maelstrom Zone, claim alliance with that one. Select a suitable system for us to be travelling to. We are warriors, but you are sailors. We will trust to your collective knowledge of these stars to supply the necessary details.”

Idea being to give the gist of the plan, and leave the crew officers to fill in the appropriate details (which they will realistically know better than any of us). It's also a way to show that while we are in command, we respect their expertise, thereby building morale?

I like it.  Both the post and the idea to involve  the crew.

I mean technically both the Executioners and the Lamenters especially were heavily involved in naval actions during the War and I referred to Cyrandras being involved in RT activities, so the Astartes might have an idea of some Houses near the Maelstrom but we apparently do have a few former BF Maelstrom sailors and they are properly more up to speed

Do any other of the astartes characters have Tech-Use? Varne only knows enough to counter the untrained penalty, and unfortunately it's needed for setting demo charges (apparently he prefers blowing things up from a distance)

Atesh is new and not quite sure who's leading for mortals; he's trying to get his bearings more than anything else.  I'm trying to fall in, but I'll happily just start making Atesh walk around and see what trouble he can scare up.

That's fine, you've all got comm-beads anyway, so can stay in touch up to good distance.

I think maybe we're relying on Adept Magos Kraggan for our Tech-Use needs?

Note that when the time comes to boom-bang-a-bang-a-bin-bam-boom, I will require an Extended Test/s. So bear that in mind. I can let you know that as Marines would understand this is a controlled/synchronous job and all participants would understand the nature of such things.

Right you are, I had assumed Xerxes and Kraggan were both going for 3A but I just checked the Data thread, having Kraggan with us will be super helpful

Yes, I know the Assault on the Space Station has been titled The Space Marines but Kraggan is tagging along with his Tech-Use and his big Axe.

He's also got the most AP!

Seriously, though, apologies, I take your point that a Magos is generally a higher rank than an Adept... but it's also true that anyone who has held any rank in any of the 'Adeptus' organisations can technically be referred to as an 'Adept'.
