What can I say?

Oops.

@Mazer Rackham, that was amazing GMing.  I think that was the first time, outside of Disco Elysium, that I failed a check and actually felt like it moved the story along and I didn't feel screwed that I failed it.

Question before I post anything IC...

Is the fact that there are people boarding with possessions, including children with toys, supposed to be a hint that something isn't right about our estimates of who is on board the platform?

I mean, if it is a minimal technical crew of repairmen, etc, there aren't going to be many families among them?

Oh no, it's completely dramatic license to enhance the grimness of the dark.

They are supposed to be there with their families, these ones just drew the short straw on having to rota on.

Am I right that we're just walking through the docking arm to get onto the platform? Assumedly we can do so, bypassing our visitors so they don't see all the spikes and skulls..?

You can assume the workforce has been secured before you hurry across, giving you impunity to move about as you please. Whoever is left here, well...who cares what they see?

So, fields on fire and Harville locked down, but the cell is already in/moving to their planned locations. Good to know...

This is over the course of 30-36 hours, giving the team enough time to chat up who you need. I plan to have the Bounty team dovetailed into this window and taking off in the Arvus before they are detained and all traffic is arrested.

To that end, @Lord_Ikka if you could have your next post marry up with the one I dropped here:

We can get this roller steaming. Once the lads have destroyed Opal, and you've gathered basically all you can down here on Bounty, I plan to have you all RV up at Perugia Station for elevenses.

TYVM for your contributions so far gents!

Hey, I’m just checking in with regard to our Compact.

Our Secondaries were:

Quote

1. Destroy all bulk haulers docked;

2. Destroy primary HE3 harvesting derricks (x4)
3. Abrade House Security forces completely (Unknown)
4. Destroy or capture all HE3 storage capsules (x6)

5. Do everything possible to enter and exit system without raising alarm.

1. Are there any bulk haulers docked? They've not been mentioned yet?
2. Progress being made!

3. Well, sort of? Not much in the way of resistance, but we've press-ganged everyone aboard, and stocked up with their guns/ammo, so kind of achieved?
4. I'm assuming we are nicking these? Hagga did mention about salvage teams and included fuel in his list?
5. Ukalegon mentioned about destroying augur buoys on the way out. And we've gone with the sneaky method, so I'd say we're accomplishing this one?

So, are we good? If this is it, it's the easiest 13+d5 Infamy I ever thought we'd earn…  (and more than a little bit :ermm:)

Well spotted.

No, there aren't. Each Compact must have a Complication where a Secondary automatically fails. This is it. Usually there is a way to work around this, but here there's nothing immediate. I did plan on having another ship here to board and seize, but we'll cross this bridge when we come to it.

Looks that way....

Looks about right.

Yes, you can siphon them off, or loot them wholesale.

I'd agree.

Nothing to worry about. :whistling:

Absolutely nothing at all....

*whistles nonchalantly in "sneaky :cuss:hole"*

Next time I'm going to make a personal objective of "doing sneaky stuff instead of just murdering everybody."

Chaos cultist infiltration team:  Right, we are here to infiltrate, gather information and get out before anyone is the wiser.

Psyker: I listen to the voices in my head and set a farming community on fire!

Rest of party: ...

Psyker: I infiltrate a hospital!

Rest of party: That's more like it...

Psyker: I cast fireball!

Rest of party: Does anyone have the Inquisition's phone number?

Well gentlemen, with that false alarm there, maybe you should be about the business of laying your explosives and reaving the facility.

The explosives require Tech-Use to set (I think?) but only Magos Kraggan has the necessary Skill (again, I think?)

I would suggest we should split up to lay the 6 charges, but the chances are at least one or two of us will flub the roll.

Could we take a few ship's Adepts with us to carry and set the bombs, or do we need to work our way around so Kraggan can do each one?

Edit: Varne has Tech-Use, so that's one extra, but I assume we need at least 3 teams - 2 bombs on each arm is the plan, right?

By the way, where on the map are we docked? (Just trying to picture how far we need to take the bombs)

The arm coming out of the main drilling deck is both a personnel gangway and supports a loading funnel for the HE3. It's the only point you can dock, but that's where you're moored.

You can split the bombs up between you, or whatever way you want to play it. Don't forget you've got to arrange plundering the tanks as well. Since the tanks are the six green cylinders, they're technically zero-g so just need a few pushes.

The demo charges require a Challenging (+0) Tech-use Test. Stick 'em wherever Varne/Kraggan think best (on the arms is where Thainn would advise).

Any DoF on the Test merely delays the explosion by a bit. Of course 4+ DoF and they go off in your face. Each charge weighs 15 kilos.
