Also, I won't be available to post now until Sunday, but I can check my phone a couple of times tomorrow @Mazer Rackham to try and drop you a private message on roughly what Varne would do if that's okay? Or you can bag-of-holding him. At an event all day just as things get spicy

Not a problem either way squire, just drop me the note. Appreciate the heads up - hope your event goes well and you have a good time!

Ok,  reposting this as I couldn't find it in the thread:

Ok, if we are starting from the light grey arm, we only need 2 teams. We've got to plant devices on Arms A and C, but either group can do Arm B on our way back to the ship?

So I'd suggest Kraggan and Varne on each team? Otherwise, split the rest of us up to guard them while they work?

Will the green tanks fit inside our ship, can we just take them? (I'm still a little unsure on scale)

Yes, they're about the width of an Imperial torp, but 2/3rds long. You could detach them and the Razor can swing around and scoop them into the launch bay. The teams of crewmen can take control after that.

@FabiusV4lcoran which way are you wanting to cheese it, chap?

  • North will take you into woodlands, a river and the foothills
  • West will take you into fields and eventually loop you round to Harville again if you keep to the river
  • East will take you into Marchant Vale.

@Lysimachus when it comes to placing the det charges, I am of two minds:

1. We can split up Varne and Kraggan, with Ukalegon carrying the tech-priest around for an EVO to get the work done more quickly.

Or

2. Varne and Kraggan can work together as a team with one providing a +10 tech-use bonus to the other, reducing our chances of failure from one charge placement to the next.

The rest of us can spend our time "setting the scene" and generally stealing anything not nailed down, followed by anything nailed down, and then the nails.

So the fire is West, correct?

Please remind me of Marchant Vale's significance?

Excellent point, Varne is only hitting 40 as a target for Tech-Use, so might be better off providing an Assist?

And the rest could assist the salvage teams looting stuff, (edit: and be there in case anything suddenly goes pear shaped!)

Good call!

South. For the moment.

It's a trade route which is suffering a lot of local bandit raids. Moreso than usual in competence and frequency, meaning PDF sometimes go out there to roust the blaggers out. Obviously the PDF are going to be busy elsewhere...

Well gentlemen, with that false alarm there, maybe you should be about the business of laying your explosives and reaving the facility.

Hagga will move across and investigate the A Block, maybe check out the command centre and armoury.

Just to check, if there are hurricane force winds across the arms, I'm assuming each arm has an interior means of crossing the arm, like a tunnel or corridor or whatever?

This is the Imperium. The workers are expected to use magboots or a deadline. I should have specified that it's 'occasional' hurricane force winds wrack the platform. During those times the workers do not cross. The derricks aren't lowered so the profile is a little gentler at the moment.

I wouldn't go jumping without a deadline or attitude pack/jump pack, though. You should be safe enough to do whatever you need to as long as there's no horsing about.

For direction, the wind should be a powerful push against you. Vox within 30m should be no difficulty. Over that, partial distortion, triple that, lots of distortion, and quadruple that, it's static or gibberish.

If someone does use a JP, it's a Hard (-20) Operate Test. 4 DoF, and you're a kite, right into the teeth of Upsilon's storms. Dead.

EDIT: Who's left on the bridge?

Me.  I'll oversee the operation.  I'm not saying you're going to throw us a wrench, but if you do, having a PC on the bridge is probably a good idea.

Practical and pragmatic, things I appreciate.

However, I must warn you now, I have yet to check my Easter Egg pile. If I do not have a Rolo Easter Egg, the chances of you catching a spanner are increased by manifold absurdity. :pirate:

@Iron Father Ferrum

if the signal is coming from the miners we brought aboard (not sure how as they were disarmed, de-equipped and auspex scanned?), then don't forget they were put in a hold that could be vented at the first sign of trouble...?

Sooo- looking like Crux'as will be able to finagle some more fighters for us if everything goes to plan, we'll just need to provide some upfront costs to support an attack. If everything goes well, I think we can hurt Bounty in a couple of ways on our return, dependent on what other intel we get:

1- Use Astartes to assault PDF/Arbites armories, possibly aided by Vale dedicated fighters. Or, possibly sneak in and steal arms, if we get some more information.

Allows us to get more weapons to the plantation fighters, who can then be used to tie up the Guard response.

2- Once Guard is neutralized/busy, full strike on foodstuff Kontors to loot/destroy/poison what we can.

3- Select missions to raid other areas if we think they are viable: Medicae, AdMech, etc...

4- Retrieve any and all plantation fighters we can to use as our personal cannon fodder, try to get Vale fighters as well. Maybe snatch up Arbites prisoners if we have the chance.

I don't think I have any specific things that we need Crux'as to ask Tyro. but if anyone else can think of something let me know (going to go to sleep soon). My first thought would be to have the sisters try to get the compromised PDF officer on rotation for guard duty when we return by blackmailing the commander. Then we just bribe the officer to look the other way while we do some pilfering. Another option is to figure out a way to cause issues with the PDF by using the commander's affairs to stir up trouble between the PDF and noble families and/or the subordinate he's boinking. Thoughts on this plan?

Other than that, I think that Crux'as has pretty much wrapped up his particular section at this time (aside from going to meet the Vale warriors). I don't think that getting more info about the kontors will help with the nascent plan, but again, any thoughts are welcome.

++Is there any knowledge of which point of origin the Station Crew come from? ++

Seemed like OOC was the best way to go in answer to this - the crew are from all over the station. Every block.
