The way Age of Sigmar handled its refreshes, Kill Team in general and the past 10 years of Warhammer 40,000 should have already clued you in. Welcome aboard, Man Who Just Started Paying Attention.

Yes, I know. This has been in development for a while. I certainly noticed when they retired a bunch of basically brand new sigmarines. One would have just hoped that they would have been more careful with their main game.

This is kind of good news for me.

Now all the infantry, less Dark Angels Characters in my Battle Company will be Legends, so rules all in one place. Winning.

The bad news is there will still be the vast majority of my 23 rhino chassis vehicles in the codex. Cummon GW, get them gone to Legends and keep life simple.

Pretty sure the ATV going will be because of low sales, nothing more.

Fitting that the worst miniatures in the history of miniatures (maybe ever)

Coteaz and the new Sanguinary Guard are both worse. Like the suppressors are terrible, but not as bad as some of the absolute stinkers 2024 gave us

I'd say inceptors and desolation marines are way worse than suppressors.

Akimbo dumpy plasma cannons looking like they're floating like Baron Harkonnen from David Lynch Dune.

And Desolation marines with the underslung, belt fed, revolving rocket launchers.

I suspect the ATV and Turrett are going to the legends farm upstate cos they were selling like grox poop

Turrett largely due to rules, ATV is so ugly (how ugly is it?) you could use it to scare zoo animals

Good news is therell definitely be a new attack bike, maybe alongside multipart outriders,  and the Khan,  and...a new Calgar

It’s a crowded field for terrible models in the current Space Marine line.

Greatest example of a flubbed reimagining in modern gaming history. It was like giving Jedi tactical lights on pool noodle lightsabers.

Match play terrain layouts don’t favor ATV use?

The ATV was a classic example of a unit that was too good in one edition paying for its sins in the next. When first released, the ATV had some teeth, despite the unpopular model. The OGC could rip through infantry and the Multimelta was one of the best anti-tank guns in 9th edition. Plus they had the absolutely broken mechanic that they could be brought back to life by an Apothecary (swiftly errata'ed).

Then 10th reset everything and the ATV came out poorly. The OGC lost it lustre and was reduced to fishing for 6s to snag Mortal Wounds. Melta weapons got significantly nerfed and needed either numbers or special rules to be reliable (e.g. Eradicators). Marine units rolled a D6 to see how well they handled the move to 10th edition and ATVs just rolled a 1.

I just want to express how happy I am that ATV and Suppressors will be gone., because I hate both. Now, could we do something about heavy stubbers and calf thrusters?

Some of you were not around for the horrors of the first chaos Possessed models and it shows. :P

Crazy part is that some of you think the Suppressors look worse than the Humpty Dumpty Centurions(no matter the flavor).

Oooooo I feel bad for anyone losing use of models.  As someone who owns a few too many ugly aggressors I would like to offer those uglies up to the  altar in order to lessen bloat.   Maybe roll em into a Termi load out.

The primaris/cawl  stuff is close to looking nice.  If the vehicles would have been tracked and a few less great value Sci fi infantry models I think we wouldn't be losing models now.

It's not a contest. Suppressors would look good if they were firmly planted on the ground, had the same legs as Intercessors and the same jump pack as Shrike. Right now they are pretty rubbish. As for the Centurions I never bought any because the 3 man box messed with any sort of Codex compliant build and they were just ugly.

It's kinda sad if this is derived from sales dropping off due to rules.

If powerful rules = sells more regardless how it looks, then how many amazing looking minis might we lose in the future because of peoples wanting to win too much?

It's rumors until it happens.

If Suppressors are binned, then I expect they could be used as proxies for the new Gravis Heavy Bolter squad.

I like Suppressors even though the rules team admitted they didn't know what to do with them. At this point, making their anti-grav into Deep Strike and ignore vertical distance for movement would be quite nice.

The ATV's demise may be a mix of both it's poor sales and ugly model, AND competing design/shelf/codex space for the refreshed Land Speeder.  The Land Speeder and its variants are currently Legends, and it's going to get at least one datasheet when it comes back in the 11th launch box.  The speeder and ATV's sheets are far from identical, but you can draw some parallels (MM = MM, twin bolt rifle <= assault cannon, both tougher than infantry but not quite as tough as a real vehicle, both fast, etc) and their costs are at least in similar neighborhoods.

If the Land Speeder, as the new hotness, gets rules and point costs that push it further than the Legends datasheets to move more models, then I can see the ATV being entirely overshadowed by it.

They can't get rid off the ATV! How will the Space Marines be able to play Mario Kart without it?

Like seriously, why haven't we had 40k-Kart yet?!?  We've got so many Mario-kart clones out there that a 40k version should be a shoo in!

Don't worry.  Amazing looking models will still sell well to collectors.

Poor ATV. I have two unpainted but converted that the gunner is also failing a chainsword around cause blood angel does what blood angels do...

This irks me especially, because I don't have an idea for a second life for this model. I can clip off the tires, stick in on a flight stand and call it a speeder... At least tacticals can proxy as intercessors easily.
