You just keep playing them. They aren't being removed from the game.  One weekend a month you can't play then at an RT and then you go back to your normal play and use them if you want to.

Wow glad I sold the 3 ATVs on sprue I got cheap when it was on the magazine. Have been thinking of selling a chunk of my painted Ultramarines. Guess several of the units are now worth a lot less (I've even got a turret. Think I used it once...)

This irks me especially, because I don't have an idea for a second life for this model. I can clip off the tires, stick in on a flight stand and call it a speeder...

I know what you mean. When the Attack Bikes went to Legends, I proxied mine as ATVs until I got the real ones from Combat Patrol. Now they are just stuck there.

I wonder if the new Landspeeder will be any good. The Stormspeeders suffered from being too pricey to use as support pieces but not killy enough do heavy lifting by themselves.

If true, it probably does set an uncomfortable precedent for "better hope you only buy the more popular Marine kits or they could be Legends'ed in a couple of editions."

I know people joke about GW being squat happy, but in the grand scheme of things it's relatively rare - except it seems in the case of their most popular armies (LSM and Stormcast respectively).

*Obligatory Legends is not the same thing as being squatted but they're ultimately still one foot in the grave due to presumably going out of sale.

There has been rumours about multpart outriders. Hopefully they’ll be accompanied by a new attack bike or some such, which the ATV can be proxied as.

Though personally I have always hated sidecars and even though the execution of the ATV was flawed, I think it was conceptually better than the attack bike.

This is intresting idea. Which kinda attack bike would be best concept?

Sidecar version? Tandem kinda? Turret on back?  One marine with servitor turret?

Alot possibilities really, but we know GW propably makes something with current outriders kit that connects to it

Imo, the attack bike is one of very few things from the Marine range that is more stupid and ridiculous than the ATV lol.

I never want to see that thing return.

I do like how a full Ravenwing Squadron was 6 Bikers, 1 Attack Bike, and 1 Land Speeder. I would like a redone ATV with only two Marines manning it. Kind of like the second picture @Jukkiz showed us, but with it being a trike bike andthe back Marine standing between the back wheels.

That's the current one but with a wheel less?

Kind of? If it were me, I’d use removing the 4th wheel to also slim the model down so it’s not three bikes wide.

Maybe put some grav-skids in the front to make a wheeled bike with a skimmer sidecar?

Nah I'm in the "side car is silly" group on this one. A rear gunner seems a lot better. Or just simply have a heavier bike with 1 rider and a heavy weapon in the nose.

I think the best concept is actually just to give the bikes themselves some better shooting options, potentially at the expense of their chainswords. Eldar jetbikes used to be 'twin catapults only', but they languished through some early editions until they got their current kit which gave the whole unit cannon and scatter laser options.

I never bought an ATV because it just looks bad. Rules are kinda indifferent for me; I prioritize the look of thing, and I'm just not interested in the ATV. I did 3 stormspeeders and 2x3 Outriders as a Scars Successor, and I've done Suboden now as well, but I'm not getting any more Outriders unless I can add a 'shooty bikes' option, and I think the easiest way to do that is just straight swap the bolters for either flamers or meltas just like the OG chaos bike metal hardpoint mounts. All that's to say I think it's safe to retire the 'special 2-man bike/trike/scooter as the 4th bike' framework and just focus on making some choices available within the base unit box.

FTR I like the third version best, though.

Cheers,

The Good Doctor.

I suspect the ATV and Turrett are going to the legends farm upstate cos they were selling like grox poop

Turrett largely due to rules, ATV is so ugly (how ugly is it?) you could use it to scare zoo animals

Good news is therell definitely be a new attack bike, maybe alongside multipart outriders,  and the Khan,  and...a new Calgar

I wouldn’t hold your breath for a new attack bike with the new light speeder. At least this edition.

The Attack Bike was one of those things that, whilst very silly, was the right kind of silly and quintessentially 40K. The ATV always seemed like a half-hearted attempt to make an XTREEEEEME version of the same basic unit, and the design looking straight out of Mario Kart: Double Dash* didn't help, nor did the hollowed-out underside. Can't say I'll greatly miss it. Tacticals and Devastators being sent to the Shadow Realm though, that sucks. Especially as both are great sources of bits to graft onto bigger bodies to make nuscaled real Marines.

*The best Mario Kart, in my opinion, so it's got that going for it?

Suppressors always felt like they needed a proper kit to be "fixed" but they're just getting binned instead.

Also the ATV getting legends is :cuss:, especially since it seems people think it's justified because it looks bad. That's 50% of the generic Mounted units left gone with no assurances there'll be a replacement. They had better send some of the ugly as sin Dark Angels bike units to legends as well to even the field if we're deciding what goes based on appearance.

Also good riddance to Tacticals and Devastators. They held on far longer than they had any right to on nostalgia alone, so maybe once they actually go people will finally shut up about Firstborn and realise that by now the original Primaris wave predates GW's current target audience, so them going was inevitable and not GW shoving "new" Marines down their throat.

It just occurred to me that an all Firstborn army could be played using the Leagues of Votann rules. Even the heights line up.

Firstborn diehards would never do it. They'd have to acknowledge favorite space marine's defining characteristic is being shorties.

I remain convinced  the ATV was designed as a joke, to see how just how bad a primaris model GW could get super fans to buy and convince themselves it was "actually not as bad as i feared now i've seen it in person, honestly I totally don't mind it"

Every model that I've ever hated from photos, that I have been told that about, it has never once been true. It has occasionally been not AS bad as the promo photos made it look, but its never once been by enough to turn me around on a model.

Throwing Tacticals, literally the cornerstone of GW into Legends is some kind of blasphemy.

Newish kits going in too?

LOL if you enjoy being on that particular treadmill? Buckle up.

I am still hoping GW does a sly rename of the Intercessors kit into the new Tactical Marines now that they are including more armor marks in the kit. Getting rid of Tactical Marines altogether is wild.

And yeah, getting rid of newer units is pretty crazy. Just another mark in the "why would you play with modern rules" column.
