So am I back from Indiana. I have to head back to move In-Laws into a Retirement Center, in a few weeks. And of course everything goes sideways at work moment I get back. So hobby time has been non existence. Silver Lining is LGS not get Saturnine until Monday, so I can get everything I need to do first i.e. my XIXth Legion and Exorcists Call to Arms Vows, that I have not started. And won't have time this weekend.
I did start on building one of My XIVth Legion Commanders, not sure w
Hit the throttle on the Wreckas last week. I've been painting pretty slowly this year all things considered, decided to change that with this project. Finished up free-hand on a few items, got the squigs painted up, did the bases and oil washes last week resulting in a final project I'm pretty happy with!
I dug out some of the leftover terrain bits I had from the sector imperialis/Chalnath terrain. I put a fine terrain paste around those bits and then put in some sand to act as larg
The Resistance have finally captured the war machines they believe they require to make their stand.
Brutus, the Malcador, reliable, dependable the spine of their battleline. She will not fail them. She will hold the line, her battlecannon roaring, her sponsons blazing as she paves the way for the Resistance's advance.
The Iron Duke, his twin Earthshaker cannons blasting holes in the enemy's fortifications. He guards those retreating and the wounded behind his massive blast shield
Hi Folks,
Today’s blog entry is a little bit specific as it deals with something different from my usual inputs: instead of reporting hobbying progress, I will talk about a trail I did for a new technique (à la TITH – i.e. something that is not new in general but new for me).
The technique is often reported on purpose of adding details and create battle damages or war-torn marks on miniatures. But beyond painting damages, the sponge might be used on purpose of
And here is my first vow for the Xenos Stronghold.
The equivalent of a Patrol box, changing the Wraithlord for a skyrunner Warlock.
Primed and assemblied, except the Wave Serpent that will be painted hulls and chassis separatly before being glued together. But where did I put the canopy???
All minis are ooP ans have seen for some of them conversions or modifications/swaps:
- Wild Riders logo from Dark Elf shield sprue (WFB)
- A Dark Elf (?) pol
As a new blog entry into the road to Call to Arms 2023, here are some tests for prospective basing.
As I am a little bit feed up by tanned earth and plascrete type of basing, I wanted to try something else.
My attempt to swampy bases as not been to my taste, but as my Wraithlord was getting quite a good contrats on its white primed base, I wondered: Why not stay like that?
Huh. "Stay like that?", really? Well, not really: I will try a Iced World basing. Maintaining the red
I joined B&C during the BCK Vehicle Challenge in 2022. It has been a great source of motivation in order to stop procrastination and reboost my modelling and painting.
The Call to Arms challenge will be another motivation to refuel the dynamics, which has slowed down a little bit lately.
My first objective is declutering of some Aeldari minis I have in a crate for 20+ years, barely assemblied and primed. At the time they were Eldars, not Aeldari...
My first vow will be
Thanks, I've generally always done wet blending before, but that starts to get a bit rough on large flat panels, so giving it another go... the first panel was a bit lumpy as I rushed it a bit, but my next panels are looking better!
You'll be able to trace the path i took painting this and the last panel will look perfect
Thanks for the kind words! Yeah, turns out my model pile of shame isn’t too bad, it’s all the old rulebooks and supplements from 5th edition onwards that I’d completely forgotten about. Once we’re in the new house, I’m planning to convert the garage into a hobby space, so I’ll finally be able to have everything together in one place.
