    Hit the throttle on the Wreckas last week. I've been painting pretty slowly this year all things considered, decided to change that with this project. Finished up free-hand on a few items, got the squigs painted up, did the bases and oil washes last week resulting in a final project I'm pretty happy with!    I dug out some of the leftover terrain bits I had from the sector imperialis/Chalnath terrain. CtA25 - Questoris Knight completed

Hi Folks,   My second CtA26 vow is based on IK. With one Questoris and two Armigers (plus a container).   After magnetizing the arm weapons of the Questoris and trying out a checker pattern on the pauldron, the rest of the paint job was finally straight forward. Most of the skeleton is done by dry brushing, which is a go-fast technique. And armor panels are quite easy with my bicolor scheme once the fancy stuff such as checkers have been managed. Beserks built

Went ahead and got all my count-as Beserks build, including my Berehk. The Ironhead Squats from Necromunda turned out to be pretty darn good, better than I expected. Berehk was built from the Claim Jumper model, which works perfectly with a slight pickaxe-to-polearm conversion, as I didn't really like the back half of the pickaxe and wanted something more hero-y. CtA26 - Second vow (Questoris Mechanicum Knights)

Retro Style Razorback

Modification on a previous work. Changed the Razorback weapons to match the more classic loadout. Was not sure how to do the dual plasma gun. After looking around found the HH Game has two dual plasma gun bitz. The dreadnought plasma gun for inside the power fist, which was only the barrel, and the terminator plasma caster. Went with the plasma caster, chopped off the spare lascannon's connector and attached to the plasma caster. Kind of wish it was a little bigger but it works. Feedback is welc

The Boltgun wielders of the squad. I had not realize I built and painted two marines exactly the same until these final photos. Only difference is the base grass. The varnish is a bit off. I had used to much of a satin varnish making them look to shiny. Tried to off set it with a dull varnish which made them look rougher and faded. Also makes the light weird when photographing them. But I was not going to redo the entire squad, at least no time soon.

Had to completely strip and repaint the model after a rather horrible varnishing incident. Gave him the older mk 4 power sword as it had a more RT tech look than the more gothic looking power swords. Also gave him a wrist mounted bolt pistol from a blood angels kit, to make him look more like the cover art on RT book.

Tie miniature to a base

I don't know who this can help, but still I have used several ways to tie a miniature to the base.  First and most common is a weathering.  You use same color/pigment to weather base and lower part of miniature.  It's easy and work nice for most cases. For example my plague Marines, I use their grime and liquids to tie them to base.  Except you don't want dirty miniature or it's on flying stem.    Second one is a miniature's  falling shadow on the base. Work has been a little busy, so no detailed battle reports. I have been getting in games at both the local Warhammer store (they host a semi-weekly CP day) and my FLGS. All against new players, which I did get to see the balancing of the different patrols. I faced both the Assault force and the Vengeful Brethren CPs. I used the Bane-Slayer Bulwark, Vanderghhast Swarm as well as did mirror matches. I did win both mirror matches, which I buck up to experience. Both opponents were a little disheart

Plague Marines: caster

To be honest, I don't really like this miniature; something feels off. I tried to make the metal dull and added dirt and grime. But I'm not sure how well it turned out.  I'm generally not a fan of dirt on miniatures, as it usually obscures the model itself. Here, I tried to make the dirt visible without obscuring the main paint job.

Death Guard

I painted this guy not too long ago. I've had a bit of a love-hate view of the Death Guard. I like the body horror elements in spite of not actually being a "body horror guy", but I really don't care for the cartoonish dancing Nurgling vibe. Thus the slight compromise of painting the Marine minus the over-meme'd Sassy Nurgling. Anyways, here he is:

Angels of Death: Done

It was wonderful. Everyone loves to paint yellow... Finished painting the sniper. He's another unusual character on the team. According to the attributes on his armor, and this is Crux and instead of the seal of purity, a skull in an iron halo, he is at least lieutenant. Knight Destrier finished, Word Bearers incoming, and soon Votann Beserks

Well, been a busy couple of weeks, so I haven't updated in a while. I managed to finish off painting my Knight Destrier in time for my painting comp (didn't place, but didn't expect to given the high level of competition we have there) and finally figured out how to do Ironkin Beserks.    First up, Destrier of House Romlas-      I'm pretty happy with him, fits in well with my other Knights and wasn't too much of a pain to put together or paint.

Angels of Death: Intercessor

So next one is ready. It's a simple intercessor and I leave him unscratched. I tried to make his yellow as pure as possible. I also managed to find the right colors for the bags and holster.  I made it completely flat matte and painted all the highlights myself.  A very funny experience.  As for gun I use same approach as for dreadnought gun. Every time NMM is easier and easier. Now I wanna paint something like very shiny knight or space marine or knight - space marine
