I've had my mate's Blood Angels sitting at my place in various stages of paint for more than 2 decades. I've periodically gotten back into the hobby, the last time during 5th ed. It doesn't help that I keep starting new stuff and adding more minis to units. Determined to finish these guys and ship them to him now! (Bike squads are just a very small element of this army. Just what's on the painting table now)

I optimised my "Turn 2 Champs"-List. I think, Hands can get more mobile and need some distraction and make Chaplains work turn 1, "everything" works turn 1. Toughness 8 Sicaran, 2+/3++ Bikes for 2 CP and two units ignoring this -1 to hit. I do not spam units, since it is always harder to take care of your unkillable sheeps without our shepherd Feirros. I personally would go turn 1 or 2 for the Calculated Fury and from turn 2 or 3 to tactical. Hear me out, buffing infantry/bikes with psysteel armor or chaplains is a bit seldomly used. I really favor +1 to hit instead +1 to wound with Chaplain. In tactical doctrine I would have pseudo heavy bolters. Heavy Bolters often were good working weapons. Be it aginst e.g. quantom shields or the mirror match against hands. "Mercy is Weakness" is so good on so many targets. So my question is, why dont we think about going down to tactical doctrine at some point? I do not want to be outplayed by other factions, how do you stay mobile to play the mission? Here is my list: + No Force Org Slot [13 CP] + ++ Battalion Detachment +5CP (Imperium - Space Marines) [53 PL, -4CP, 965pts] ++ **Chapter Selection**: Iron Hands Relics of the Chapter (1 Relic)[-1CP] Stratagem: Hero of the Chapter [-1CP] Stratagem: March of the Ancients [-1CP] Stratagem: Chapter Master [-2CP] + HQ [11 PL, -3CP, 247pts] + Chaplain [5 PL, -1CP, 99pts]: Canticle of Hate, Stratagem: Relics of the Chapter [-1CP]: The Ironstone, Jump Pack [1 PL, 18pts], Recitation of Focus, Power fist [9pts] Chapter Master [6 PL, -2CP, 148pts]: Combi-melta [15pts], Jump Pack [1 PL, 19pts], Thunder hammer [40pts](Master-Crafted Weapon), Stratagem: Chapter Master [-2CP], Student of History, Warlord + Troops [12 PL, 177pts] + Scout Squad [4 PL, 67pts] . So I love the new Custodes Jetbikes and have just built my first one last night, but being completely honest the Custodes lance really puts me off. It got me too thinking of putting a Primaris marine on top, if possible and using them as counts as white scars jetbikes. My question really is would this work well if I fill another detachment with Primaris Scars, how well people think this army would work, and how hard the conversion would be in the first place? + Edited for tags and grammar +

I had been a long-time white scars player, with a focus on bikes. However the few times I tried them in 8th, they felt clunky and overpriced. With the release of the newest codex, even with the improvement in points, the entries removed filled me with dread. Sure enough, Only the Captain and Khan on a bike is still listed outside of Legends. A quarter of my army has been sent there, and it seems likely that the remaining bikes will follow in due time. While I can't state it specifically, I feel like the release of legends killed the morale of the WS community here. While this has always been one of the slower communities, the revival in posting after the release of their new codex and supplement died upon the release of the legends pdfs. There has been only 10 posts since then, 1 of which was a recommendation to look at ravenwing. I know I haven't touched my scars, even to test a contrast paint scheme. How are people dealing with this? Are you transitioning you army away from bikes, or trying to hold out and keep playing them?

Anyone else find it odd that the Dark angels are the only bike units out of a codex to still have the jink save? (Including eldar bikes I belive.) . It is strange to me that none of the other SM bikers get this, not even White Scars who are supposed to be equals to the Raven Wing on bikes. Oh well, would be nice to have, but I rarely advance my bikes except for the unit that I target with "Born in the Saddle".

Hi guys, After lurking for Emperor knows how long, I decided to start posting my work here. Since I have been playing and collecting Ultramarines for 20+ years this is what you will mostly see here. So without furher delay: WIP venerable dreadnought http://i.imgur.com/63xADQL.jpg Need to finish the base and highlight the blues all around. Arms are magnetised of course. Bonus pics of my librarian, counts as Tigurius as the current model is not so awesome...
