Translated from spanish from here ' "Goodbye micropayments." Tomorrow, Steam will give you a free, complete Warhammer 40K game if you've played it in the last year. Speed Freeks, the "Mario Kart of Warhammer 40,000," leaves Early Access on May 22, becoming a paid game. Just days after its release of version 1.0, one of the craziest games in the Warhammer 40,000 universe has surprised its fans with an unexpected change of direction. After several months as a free game in early access, the project has decided to shift towards a more classic model. However, although Warhammer 40,000: Speed Freeks will now be a paid game , the Caged Element team is giving it a twist: no more microtransactions . Speed Freeks, the multiplayer driving shooter starring the orcs of Games Workshop's universe, will definitively abandon the free-to-play model on May 22nd , the date of its official launch on Steam. From then on, the title will cost 16 euros and include all its content without the need for microtransactions. The developers have also confirmed that the internal store will be removed for new players, although those who have accumulated the Teef virtual currency will still be able to spend it for a year. Those of you who have played so far will get free Speed Freeks. The good news is that those who participated in the game's early stages—whether during Early Access or its free trials—will receive the full version at no additional cost. It's worth mentioning that the game is no longer available for purchase if you didn't do so between August 2024 and yesterday, so there's only one option left for those who haven't played it: pay up. In addition to this change in business model, the project's developers are opting for a more traditional content strategy , based on premium DLC. They explain that the goal is to offer quality updates and maintain a constant flow of new features without relying on aggressive monetization systems. Of course, the community has enthusiastically embraced this decision, appreciating the commitment to a more honest and direct experience . Still, some regret not having taken advantage of the upgrade to a completely free paid version, as access to the game was lost until the full version arrived. However, others allude to a classic saying: "He who doesn't run, flies." ' BTW, you can still get it for free in Steam. But you have very few hours to get it. https://store.steampowered.com/app/2078450/Warhammer_40000_Speed_Freeks/

LOOK AT THIS!!!! Saw in this thread over on reddit, Looks like two face options, one with a veil and one without, a little bit of a shame the head isn't the usual socket thing but I can live with it. I was really expecting a plastic Urien Rakarth to be the next character for Drukhari but this is great, both would be really nice of course. It's always possible the Drukhari release will just be this model and the codex but having seen this has made me more hopeful and excited even thought we are still some ways off given the Roadmap.

I justo see THIS in Twitter, some minutes ago, and looks quite interesting. 3 different seta, quite complete. Maybe a little overpriced, at least for my humble pocket, but looks really interesting to deploy a full board with scenery in few minutes, with little to no work. Thoughts?

Paul Sawyer, "Fat Bloke" has brain cancer, Nick Davis said in Twitter this afternoon, and sadly only a real miracle can save him. It so terrible and sad read this. I really love his time in the White Dwarf Magazine, the longest editor served on it I belive. He is a true legend and a really nice person. Personally I'm totally devastated. I don't have more proper words now. Sorry. https://x.com/alt_world/status/1830981990658576818 Paul himself tell this from FB:

This past 26th of November, the workers of Vallejo Acrylics, started an strike, in search of better payment and improved labour conditions. The situation of the works in the factory of Vilanova i la Geltrú (Spain) is dire: lack of safety and hygienic protocols, low payment,"major deficiencies" in the maintenance of the building and the "obsolescence" of the machinery, among other serious problems, such as the lack of a protocol against workplace harassment. The workers have the nearly total support of the Spanish wargaming and miniature painting community, and from other countries. Vallejo Acrylics, the management, does not seem to want to sit down to negotiate with the striking workers for now, and the latter may take new protest measures. Some members of the Spanish community are calling for a boycott of the company to force it to negotiate. Bitzbox is a well known British on-line shop, specialised in miniature bits and other hobby supplies. They put this message in their official Twitter account this week: "Due to the incoming GPSR regulations we will be suspending shipping to the EU and Northern Ireland on the 7th December" After asking, this suspension also affects countries in the EEA area, like Linchestein, Iceland,Norway, Northern Ireland,... Probably this is because the increase costs and paperwork that companies must face. The small ones can't afford such new costs. A sad news, indeed.

Thanks to @WargamersR inTwitter, have notice this in the reveals of the new Dark Angel miniatures. In the actual CSM codex, terminators can't have thunder hammers, but in this pic we have not only one but two Black Legion terminators having and using that kind of weapon against Deathwing terminators... Maybe is a new option in the future CSM codex. Perhaps.

Sunday Preview of next weeks pre-orders For Space Marine there's the missing Terminator Captain as well as various bits from Leviathan including a Heroes of the Chapter type box that will no doubt come with a heft price tag. There is the Space Marine Scout and Eldar Striking Scorpions Kill teams and a selections of kits for Legions Imperialis as well as the new book. What's most interesting to me is that Striking Scorpions do come in a box of ten and not five. This is especially useful to know as it's a good indicator that Mandrakes will get the treatment. I am still tempted to get the new box with Mandrakes and Night Lords but knowing I can pick the Mandrakes up as a box of ten I'm not so concerned about missing out on it or passing it up.

I don't know what this is for but if it's not for my favourite 40k army I'm going to mald!! Warhammer World's anniversary is coming up in the beginning of March and this community article is boasting of some big reveals. Although we're all probably hoping the fowl creature above is part of a Drukhari Beast Masters update I'm note sure it is. What might we actually see that is relevant to this board?

Saw this over on reddit just now. I don't remember seeing any information posted about it here or it being previewed by GW. Looks like it might be another Target exclusive or at least is meant to interact with their last game as there is a card for Titus but his model is not included, speaking of models it's using some of the models from the Warhammer Heroes kill team. More images in the spoiler Link to reddit thread

WarCom are pumping out news articles ready for the release of Secundus this Saturday. Today we have: Who are the Spyre Hunters? It's a look at the design process for the updated Spyrers and what you get on the sprues (but sadly no sprue shots). All told, an interesting article, but I'm rather sad they've chosen to just make them part of the Imperial House, rather than any of the Noble Houses. The second article, Undoing Perfection, talks about the design process for the new Malstrains. Another good article for the design process, and some info that (as expected) the Brood Scum heads fit all gang bodies, but seemingly work really well with Orlocks! For those concerned about GSC vs MIG (Malstrain Infected Gang) and GSC being binned, the article's gist is that GSC still exist, and despise the MIG. The models do look really freaky, and I'm really looking forward to their release! Despite their chat in the article, I still think I'm going to use either a Von Ryan Leaper or a Deathleaper head to change the Malstrain Alpha head and lean into the weird horror. Alternatively, use the Von Ryan for the Alpha and convert the Deathleaper into my Malstrain Patriarch! Also, the article touches on using a Malstrain gang outside Secundus. The takeaway is; it's not designed for wider Necromunda, but can be done provided everyone agrees. However (obviously), stuff like the Trading Post is off-limits. The MIG is what they want people to use, and I think the MIG have access to the Malstrain 'Stealer as a Brute choice, if I'm reading between the lines correctly. As an aside, they showed the original Space Crusade mission from WD145, and I recognised it straight away, as I have that issue and used that (with my friend) as a campaign mission for our game of Space Crusade years ago! It's good to see a throwaway mission from the past be relevant to today! I'll update this thread for Thursday and Friday, when I suspect we'll have more articles on Secundus. Edit: Other Secundus Threads on B&C; Preorder thread, Book of Desolation thread

Extra fire power for the gangs! Nice addition. Grenade launchers and heavy stubbers. I think are in plastic, so it adds more appeal. Opinions?

I just see right now a post in Chapter Master Valrak's Twitter account, (Here) who states that a new boxed set for Horus Heresy is probably in the way. He is not saying it's a new edition, but he said that in the box are Salamanders and Iron Warriors. And shows this decals, that are in the new Command Squad box: Post Also sais that this maybe linked with a past rumors about plastic full Mk II. What do you think about this?
