Night Lords 15th Company - In Memoriam...Pg.68

They look great, bro.

Very cool bikers. I particuarly like the way you've done the Melta weapons. Any chance of a tutorial/guide/general method? I'd love to do something similar for the special weapons on my bikers.

Thanks man, I'll see if I can cobble something together to give you guys an idea of how I built them.

That'd be awesome dude. I know its a pain, but would be really appreciated.

No problems if you cant be arsed though, lol. :)

A brilliant update once again, mate! These gave me such an appetite for converting bikes that I just spend half an hour adding some more detail and lavishing some extra attention upon my own WIP bike squad. Thanks for that ;)

This update has also made me realise (again) though that your fluff is an integral part of what makes this thread so great: Don't get me wrong, the conversion work and painting is brilliant, but beginning to imagine these models as actual characters (with their own history that reaches all the way back to the Heresy in many cases) really does it for me.

Amazing! More please! :)

So the 15th Company finally had it's 1st game Saturday night against my friend's Necrons. This was my first game in about 9 months so it was a good refresher before the start of the campaign. It was a 1000 point battle with 'Purge the Alien' as the mission type, just to keep things simple.

My list:

- Hashec Tor and the Atramentar (MoK, VotLW)

- The Carnivore Bike Squad (MoN, VotLW)

- 1st Claw (MoK, VotLW)

- 2nd Claw (MoK, VotLW)

His List:

- Destroyer Lord

- 2 Wraiths

- 6 Destroyers

- 40 Warriors

The initial deployment:

The bikes went forward and immediately got attacked by the Wraiths and the Destroyer Lord who tore Noctus Cornix a new one. In true Night Lords fashion the remainder of the Carnivores noped the :cuss outta there and ran off the table.

Still trying to pull something salvageable out of this mess, 1st and 2nd Claw move up the field only to get absolutely decimated by Gauss Rifle fire.

2nd Claw is then promptly assaulted by the murder-train that is the Destroyer Lord and his Wraiths. They manage to kill everyone except Skaros who beats feet right off the board like the Space Shark he is.

Hashec Tor and his Atramentar finally arrive on turn 3 and nuke one of the Destroyer Squads with a hail of Combi-Plas fire. 1st Claw mans up gets blade to blade with the Necron Warriors.

Hashec now has the attention of the entire Necron Army and endures a tide of Gauss fire from the Warrior Squad and the remaining destroyers. Cor Madrek sells himself dearly to protect Hashec (Thanks Ven!) and makes a full 15 consecutive armor saves before finally succumbing to his wounds.

A pissed of Necron Lord goes toe to toe with the Hammer of Nostramo and learns first hand where he gets his name from. Hashec pulverizes him in one turn of combat with the Axe of Blind Fury. Unfortunately Wraiths are insanely hard to kill and they manage to kill the remaining Atramentar in the following two turns.

The game finally comes to an end on Turn 5 and not a moment too soon. Hashec managed to kill one of the wraiths and put a wound on the other (AoBF is amazing), while 1st Claw continued to slog it out 300-style with the Necron Warriors. The final tally in victory points was as follows:

Necrons

- 1st Blood

- 2nd Claw

- Bikers

- Atramentar

Total: 4 VPs

Night Lords

- Slay the Warlord

- Destroyer Squad

- Necron Lord

- Linebreaker

Total: 5 VPs

One of the closest games I've played and a load of fun! 6th edition is really a joy, from tactical placement of squad members, to random charge ranges, there's a lot more spice and random-ness in each game. I also learned that Necrons are freaking horrendous opponents and that if it wasn't for some lucky dice rolls I could've easily been tabled lol. All that matters though is that the 15th Company is now officially blooded and victorious! More paint updates to follow soon.

Congratulations for your victory brother. Really nice to see some Night Lords kicking xenos -specially yours, one of the best NL army I've seen- without baldrakes or plague marines.

Don't know, but I was expecting the Carnivores to be MoK'd (i guess the claw's nickname and my char being the bark-dude helped a bit). Have you find useful the MoN? And for the bikers also, I guess that you intended their role to be tank hunters, but as assault support plasma instead of meltas might help against MC hunting.

And shame on you Norok Vaaz! How many times I have to tell you that running from the fight is not a good way to be promoted?! :verymad:

Good to see the 15th victorious and bathing in the blood (dust? rust?) of the foul necrontyr. Pity that the Atramentar didn't exactly deliver overwhelming death but meh they kept The Hammer alive to do what hammers are supposed to do :laugh.:

Great report and a great looking army, subscribed.

Thanks!

Great little game update fella. Gla you enjoyed your first game. They haven't been truly blooded until they fight the brothers of the crimson fists ;-)

What's next in the pipe line?

Thanks man, hopefully the next fight will be against some thin-blooded servants of the Golden Throne. As far as modeling goes I'm working on the second Rhino, I'll probably get another update in tonight.

Hope we soon see them again clad in midnight black. Great report!

Thanks.

You let me die :sad.:

I have a thing or two to learn about leader placement in 6th lol. Leading from the front is apparently very unwise.

GLORY TO THE 15th!

Ave Dominus Nox

Thanks!

Man, the 15th Company look sexy on the tabletop. Glad their first game ended in a victory, despite the losses - I'm sure you're proud of them!

Can't wait for paint updates! :biggrin.:

I am just glad the game ended on turn 5, I don't know if Hashec could have withstood all that Gauss fire.

Yeah MoK would be more fluff appropriate, but I just wanted them to be tough as nails. I'll play around with the marks in the future.

Amen to that, though the death storm of plasma the turn they arrived was much needed. Erased some of those damn destroyers.

Rhino #2: Update II

Hmmm, quiet night.... time for some Night Lords

So here's some more progress on the second Rhino, hopefully tonight I'll get some highlighting and lightning done.

However the star of tonight's post is the most deadly duo to ever walk this brutal galaxy, weighing in at close to one ton of pure, unadulterated terror, I present the kill team of 1000heathens and Dan the Deamon. You may now start weeping.
