Hmm, that cannon seems familiar ;)

As for the general direction of the weapon arms, I would personally argue in favour of a less organic, more technical look: If you want fleshy, the current Oblitz are quite alright, but coming up with a suitable tech-y looking construction would be more interesting, in my opinion. If you go for a slightly different weapons loadout for each model in the squad, with a couple of underslung extra weapons here and there, that should nicely symbolise the models' ability to change weapons "on the fly".

Looking awesome! Seeing this boy finally finished will be such a treat!

thanks, and i know you did something similar, but great mindsand so ;)

already have a spine showing so a bit more organic might fit, but will do some trial and error.

This guy is shaping up very nicely. Plasma cannon looks great too.

thanks almost done with the torso now started on first half for casting

been building other stuff needed for the upcomming turnament, some new upgrade for my hellbrute, a chaos quadgun, and some havocs.

thought ill show you my latest addition, needs backback and think ill try some weathering later on aswell.

so what do you guys think?

Very nice and so clean. The freehand emblem look like it almost glows.

thanks, maybe its too clean but will have to fix that later, need to learn how to make beleavble dirt and damage.

and the emblem is supposed to look like its glowing ^^

can always count on you Forte, and tanith ghost, to atlest look at my stuff :)

May be something useful there. And my clean comment is aimed at the lines and overall finish rather than a well scrubbed and dusted look. Don't forget that less is more too.

I'm sure many more have looked at your work too. Just takes a while till they get the courage to post.

thanks ill have a look at it.

hopefully ill have some more stuff to show soon

A different but slightly better (in my opinion) approach to chaosifying the SM lascannon. Most people just cut off the top and replace it with a gargoyle head but adding arrows and chains is much better!

im a little tired, but i think that meant you liked my version over the gargoyle version :)

Beautiful freehand on that Havoc. I'm kinda floored by how simple and elegantly you've made the symbol. Great job, I will be watching with anticipation!

its comment like that, that really makes my day, and makes me want to do even more, thank you. Edited by thamier

time for a update before bed, sorry its been so long since the last update, been busy, but back at oblit sculpting/building, and now i see the light at the end of the tunnel, or almost, almost glued my first oblit toghter.

had some comments at the gaming club today, one being"they are going to ask you were you bought it, they are never going to belive you made that yourself" it take that as a good sign.

Im not sure about the hip plate i orginnaly planned, they dont seem to fit undr the cables hanging down from the torso.

but would like to hear what you guys think of it, and feedback and suggestions help me alot

That's incredibly cool! I love the guitar strings under his torso armor

inadded even more, wanted the look of heavy cabling from under the armor to the weapons.

Hmm, from those pictures it looks to me a bit like the hip is too small for the humongous torso. I mean the sculpting is awesome but could you enlarge the hip/groin section? Ya know what I mean?

i took some more pictures, so you can get a better sense if the whole, still not sure if i think the modsektion is too slim or not.

He looks fine to me proportionally within 40k standards. It grounds the mini within the universe I love it abd if obits logged like this more I'd field them

hopefully ill be able to field two in 5 weeks for the turnement.

OMG that obliterator is awesome. Not sure if anyone else has asked this already but where's the head from?

dark eldar wrack head :)

and i actually finished it now, first oblit buildt, so what you guys think of the whole?

if its approved, it be one more built and then on to painting

Awesome work dude, as for the thigh plates, maybe just attach them to the top of his thigh plates instead of at his hip. I think that area could use some bulk to balance the model.

i looked it over, and despite the fact that i had hoped i was done sculpting and mouldmakeing, i already started on new "hip" plates that can be attacked to the top of the thighs.

More awesome than this!!!http://i50.tinypic.com/2zgdkqq.gif

I stared at that for a while, not sure if that was a compliment tough forte ;p

Glad we're on the same wavelength.

This two pictures right here kind of emphasize the area I feel is too small for the rest of the bulky model. He does look amazing but I think the thighs are too small, maybe if they were a bit bulkier the hips would be fine. Hope it helps man. Will be awesome to see some paint on these guys once they're done.

now THATS an obliterator

if i were to make one change i would lose the head on the plasma and use the teeth idea you have on the side plasmas as i feel it overbalances against the meltas ,but thats just my take

again excelant job:thumbsup:
