you guys are all great.

update on the SoH front mixing paint.

very very confusing stuff. i followed the forgeworld painting guide and step 3 and 4 got me all confused it says add 20% more of the two paints but 20% of what?

The warmaster surely has the resources to keep a vast collection of cloaks.

"It's Monday, Abaddon. I think I'll wear the grey one today."

This wins the comment of the day, bravo.

As for the trim vs fluff I like it both ways.

I haven't read this plog in a while (the shame, I know...) but I have to say: I was totally digging your conversion work on the BaC dreads. Really great reposes, and surprisingly removing the ornamentation made them look so different! Then I saw the trim and my eyes dang near popped out of my head. Really, jaw-droppingly well done. I especially love the way the chaos star wraps around that one shoulder. Just stunning work, as usual. Stunning.

Awesome. Perfect to park some barrage artillery behind so they can rain some death  unimpeded.

the collector side of me just had to have it, right now im trying to get my 30k ready for paint, and hopefully inget time to return to 40k and make some berzerks and 1000 sons

  • 2 weeks later...

tiny update been working on some sons of horus for the small 30k tournament here the 7th feb so need to get them done withing 2 weeks with barely any hobbytime :(

legs cut up pinned and repositioned and greenstuffed a few more details needed boot soles and some eyes of horus here and there and a few more touches on the dreadnoughts but getting there

a problem im facing is i need to prime and its winter here so its between minus 16-24 outside no good for spraying what to do what to do..

contemptor head cut free then before putting it back turned i added the missing bits with greenstuff

That extra work is extremely impressive and your skill at doing that definitely doesn't make me jealous at all. ;)

The leg reposes on the tacticals look great, if you get the time I'd love to know more about the process involved and maybe see a wip shot or two. The contemptors are absolutely stunning - that one with the chain, second from the left in the group pic, he's so dynamic it's hard to believe he started life as the BaC model.

Oh thank you, that's awesome!!

Those Contemptors are looking absolutely excellent, and that goes for both the spiky one and the new one you've converted to resemble the FW Sons of Horus Contemptpr. If anything, I think you should add some more touches to the two remaining models, so each of the Dreads will seem like a character in their own right.

The topknots on the tac sergeants are a nice little touch! I do have to admit I'm a bit disappointed that you didn't do more with the two HQ characters, though.
