Wow. Your usual work is great, but the last few updates with the Reaver torsos, the (beautiful) psychic hood, and now the Master of Signals? They just take the cake.

I really need to develop my sculpting and plasticard skills so I can copy your stuff. Great work, please keep it coming.

thanks mate, i been having alot of fun with 30k modeling :)

ill do my best to do some more and show you all

i was all excited by the new black legion supplement, and as far as i understand its just a reprint of the old book :( only diffrence is they added a few formations otherwise it seems like the same book so a booming 7 new pages.... im not gonna be too disapointed yet, ill wait and see when i gotten my hands on the actual book.

Very cool, the resemblance to Sevrin Loth is uncanny! :D

need some help, on the Sevrin loth model the cabling under his ribs on both sides(there is a big cable going from the back and up on the front but its the other one i mean) is that cable abwide one or two small cables? can anyone tell me or if you have a picture shoeing it clearly i would reallly like to see, thanks

Totally awesome look, the hood and the custom body are just great towether, even though I think the staff is too "chaosy" for 30k.

I agree, I think a more subtle chaos symbol would work better. Maybe runes instead of points?

maybe you guys are right, thought it was cool with the eye of horus on it, but if i remove the spikes it be better?

I wonder if smaller spikes would be better. It would be more in keeping with the rest of the line. The three points under the eye do work, and the eye will be awesome sauce when done.

sounds good gonna try that.

next im gonna try and sculp some more details a loincloth for the librarian and gonna test this idea i had. using ibsta mould between the legs of the model then with my silecone sculpting tool makeing the general shape i made a nonstick base to sculpt the loincloth on, take a look

curious to see if it works out.

also did a very qucik and rough mockup of my first sons of horus jumppack reaver, almost got the pose right but needs alot of work, but should be good enough to show the general idea atlest

Very impressive work on the Reaver, although I have to agree with Midnight Runner about the left arm -- it needs some tweaking, not even a transhuman arm could possibly bend that way ;) I would also get rid of the horns - or, as Brother Jim suggested, mount them elsewhere - as they mess up the sleek and predatory look of the model a bit for me. There's also the fact that horns still seem to say "Word Bearers" at this point in the Heresy ;)

wow that was alot of responces, i agree with the legt arm, i wantedone streched out ready to swing with a sword and the cloest i had was that one for the mockup, so ill be building a arm that look just like iimagined, also gonna do diffrent weapons prolly magnetied combi and powersword. but it needs alooooooot of work, greenstuff and spikes even trophys and more, but you got the general idea from the mockup :)

I'm curious did you make the legs from the BAC set or were they from the assault marine kit?

Either way, 1000 curses on you man! I was intending to get some sleep this year! Now I must try it

the legs are from the betryal at calth box BrotherJim, i just lose the feet thighs and lower legs filed a bit and glued them back toghter.

im working on a leg tutorial but might take a while to make

and sleep is overrated ;)

I really like the reaver too, although I'll be the odd man out and say: keep the horns were they are. They remind me of the helmet of that awesome Aspiring Champion with power claw from the original 2nd edition pewter Chaos Space marine box.

Oh, and one thing I totally forgot in my earlier post: I think the librarian's staff would work 100% better if you just removed that skull at the top and replaced it with a regular spike. It would still be fairly chaotic that way (which is quite alright: The SoH began to worship chaos at some point during the Heresy, after all), but it wouldn't have the OTT "for the evulz" look of the original 40k bit.

I would also leave the horns on the reaver, they look just how reavers should look like for me. They need some adjusting to the helmet though, and a cow-like skull shape could be great, but I know you'll totally pull it of when you do a real model, as always;-) .

I like the horns it seems very chaosy but it might change a bit by the end, will have to wait and see.

I agree, think ill try that for starteres and we will see how it looks :)

Yes, with the line in the middle and round eyes, search "cow skull" in the internet and you'll see. It could obviously go wrong (it could go very wrong indeed) or it could just not look good, but I just thought of it when I saw the large horns.

Edited by The Traitor

Only remembered this after Traitor mentioned the cow skull thing and I'm not sure if this'll help much but the old warhammer fantasy skeletons use to have a cow skull with separate horns among other things in the sprue. Alternate horn types for the Reaver helmets could make them stand out a bit more (although that might end up making them look comical). Really enjoying seeing where you take your Sons of Horus.

Speaking of those old "cow skulls" Soric mentioned, I think I have quite a few of them left, in case you're interested?

thanks guys but i have some of those in my bitzbox, they come with normal horns or ramshorns, gonna have a look at it :)

been sculpting a little during the night couldent sleep and baam suddenly its 6 in the morning so have a few hours before classes starts

once cured i think the sons of horus librarian is ready for assembly pretty happy with my sjoulderplate psy hood and the insta mould supprort worked pretty well for sculpting the loincloth but cant be sure until its cured

the fun is in the details

hope you liked it and comments are very welcome

Wow, the details on the hood are amazing, I wonder how you're able to do that tiny cables... Really wainting to see this one finished and painted!

roll a little bit of green stuff into a thin string cut a bit and put onto model, i assembled him now and most of the details are covered by the backpack :)
