For me, I definitely like option 1 better.

While the scythe arm would look cool (especially painted in wacky Forte brand Slaaneshi colors), it says more spawn than daemon prince to me. Even Daemon princes of Shornaal have gotten to their current station by being the baddest mothers in every conceivable way. Since EC are typically personified as the paragon of swordsmanship, I think it's a really good link both visually and philosophically to the warlord he once was before his ascension.

This is no where near as scary as being a father

Any preference between Option 1 & 2 for the DP weapon?

Hmm, even if it seems like I am just trying to be contrary here: I think the coolest combination would be the sword from option 1 for the right arm, with the claw from option 2 replacing that Carnfex pincer on the left arm -- sorry... ;)

Don't say sorry. I'll give that a look ;)

So, so, soooooooo very true.....!

I like where your first noisemarine is going - esp the blastmaster - 'exquisite' ;)

For the DP I like option 1, but would like to see opt 3 as well. I know it is some way off, but as you are going to leave the shoulder pads off, how about some suitably Slaaneshi tattoos?

Anyways, looking forward to seeing these piles of bits get Forte'd :D

Kicking this post off with a suggestion by KrautScientist regarding the Daemon Prince hands/ weapons. Here's the sword/ talon option:

I'm actually tempted on this one.

Now for the main reason for posting today. Noise Marines! I've started assembly thanks to the amazing thing known as Blu Tac :wub.:

Bases! Because I like to finish them first.

Sorry for the picture quality but it gives the idea of where they're headed. Green stuffing needs doing, including extra detailing (some flayed flesh possibly). Extra rivets added in places using beads. A couple of hair pieces. Holstered Bolt Pistols and sheaved CCW for those without chainswords. Finish up the Blastmaster. Magnetise the Bolters and make Sonic Blasters. Then prime. Not much to do before painting really...

As always, C&C is welcomed. Thanks for stopping by :thanks:

That guy in the middle of your chainsword bunch - is he the Aspiring Champion?

The guy looks like a total face-wrecker. :blink.:

If there's one thing I generally find with Slaaneshi marines, it's that there aren't enough guys who look dangerous.

Not much fear of that in this thread, though! Marvellous stuff so far!:happy.:

Sure is ;) Love the original and just took off the power fist.

Option 3 I think for the Prince, though not by much.

The Noise Marines are looking the business already, good mix of bitz. They are going to be boss when done. Any chance of a close up of the champion?

I approve of the bases also, can't never have to many aquilas being stepped on!

Feels like an age since last I saw the one with the sonic blaster (or blastmaster, can't tell the difference). I like the look of those bases.

Been quite a while since I started the Bastmaster. ETL and a short power armour break to avoid burn out happened.

Just to point out, the white stuff dries almost clear so will be painted like the others.

The bases are pretty simple to do. Here's the steps I took and what I used.

  • Items used:
  • Large and small slate pots from the 40k basing kit
  • Large brass Aquila from Forge World
  • Skulls from Scibor
  • Vallejo Grey Pumice paste
  • Rhino top hatch

And here's the steps I took too:

1. Superglue large, non-plastic items to the bases. Check with the model in place beforehand to make sure it works ok.

2. Poly cement any plastic parts in place.

3. Add superglue near any large slate pieces and add the small slate bits. Just sprinkle the on and tap off any that haven't stuck.

4. Add a tiny bit of superglue to one foot of the mini being based. When stuck, drill holes for pins through the base until you get some grey plastic come through on the drill. Stop there. You can make the hole deeper later.

5. Add the Vallejo paste where needed using a sculpting tool. Go right aroung the feet with it too.

6. Pull the model off the base (superglue is brittle which is why I only used a little).

7. Wash and excess paste off the model and drill your pin holes deeper.

8. Leave till the paste is fully dry.

So it'll be prime and paint for the bases very soon fingers crossed.

As for more pics. I've failed on that one. Long day at work. Did ma manage this one though.

He didn't have much done to him. Power Fist changed to a Possessed weapon arm, and the star/chains removed from the cloth. Bit of GS work to be done and decide how to do an optional Doom Siren backpack.

Cheers for the support on this as always :tu:

I hereby dub that model Hieronymus 'Facewrecker' Reinbach, the Dagger of Slaanesh!

... Alright, alright, the 'Facewrecker' bit doesn't have to stay it you don't want it to. :laugh.:

Oh, unless you're not going to name him at all, in which case my late-night random burst of inspiration can probably be used for a later model.

I'm too tired to coherent.

I think I need to go use the sleep. :unsure.:
