Finally...the wind and rain has calmed enough for me to get my primer on!

Bit of an anti-climax but with Jan 15th looming I better get a wiggle on and get this one in Midnight Clad.

Fingers crossed for some painting time and I think I know how to do the very dark blue that I'm after.

Well, it's between the old GW Midnight Blue and VGC Night Blue for the base (whichever is darker). Badab Black wash. And back to the base colour. Lightning will be causing most of the highlights so fingers crossed it'll work. Pouches will also be the colour of the armour.

 

Metal rims will be more of a dark bolitgun with brownish shadows.

 

Other than that it's bone and terror markings.

I'm attempting to figure out what to build next and it's looking like the start of a fluffy 40k Emperors Children force. Thing is, I'm not sure on kitting out my low points Lord (in other words, not on a bike till more points and cash). So here's what I'm looking at for 822 points:

 

Lord

6x Noise Marines

Champ has PW, Combi-bolter, melta bombs

Champ has LC, Combi-melta, MB

1x greater, 1x lesser

Alluress has 1x greater

 

So I'm left with 178 points for Lord upgrades and another unit out of Chaos Space Marines, Vindicators or Possessed which I have. Or, spawn or oblits which I would need to figure out what to use to model as I'm not a fan of either kit.

If you want fluffy stuff try possessed, would be interesting to see what you create :biggrin.:

 

If you want a biker lord, I got doomrider sat here (minus backpack and the holding handlebar arm)

I built the Possessed about four years ago so that would mostly be painting now.

The NL needs some paint on asap!I like how you break him down and then paint the parts.I used to do it this way a long time ago so it brings me memories,i think painting the model while already glued is faster tho?The chaos list looks good,flavored!

@Chickenleg. He's fully magnetized so there's no need to paint him in one part. I also like to be able to get to every part these days. I never really enjoyed unit painting so much for some reason so the list above will be a real challenge for me.

 

@Tanith Ghosts. I'm not too worried about 2+ at 1k points. Could just throw the Daemonettes at it anyway. Rending and high attacks would do some damage or tie them up for a bit.

The spawn will have to wait due to lack of bits (and new nid kits coming which could have some interesting stuff). First up would be pretty much every other unit as I have those models ;)

Bare bodys and limbs really. Beastmen have descent body sculpts. Thinking Tourtured Souls for inspiration. The usual spawn are odd looking enough but do seem to lack the disturbing, that really shouldn't bend like that, sort of thing.

 

Need to do this Night Lord first and I'm getting distracted ;)

Many thanks batu. May take me a while and have a few detours along the way with Night Lords, Malifaux resurrectionists, Blood Bowl goblins and other stuff wanting attention.
