I've been wanting to build a 30k Seeker unit but needed something to make the unit stand out from other Infantry.

 

The rest of the force is strictly MKIII and MKII armour, so why not use MKIV and MKVI for this one unit. That way they will stand out from the rest of the force and look more specialist.

 

Other option would be seeker bolters on MKIII plastics and plenty of pouches, but they might look too much like standard Tacticals.

Has anyone use the Horus Heresy Iron Warriors doors on there Rhinos & any photos?  Just with the Chaos era one current remove from the FW web site while mould get fix or possible may not return.

I'm thinking of using this, just remove the icon around the Iron Warriors symbol & use plasticard to create chaos icon around it.

I truly adore your Iron Warriors, Insane Psychopath. Your blog is my favorite Iron Warriors blog. I don't regret buying Armies of Renown one bit because even though I don't care for half the armies in there, the space marines in there are awesome, including your own. Wish I had an imagination similar to your own when it comes to kitbashing.

 

Armies of Renown allows me to look at some good armies without booting up the computer too, which is handy when you're insomniac.

Today Warhammer Commuinty post focuse on Stronghold assault & a bit about fortification in the brand new 8th ed Warhammer 40,000

I still need to get around & add some fortification models to my army.  Part this is just something always wanted try get done.  Another part just have extra theme terrain I can use ether that my club or if I finial sort out the gaming table for games that home.

 

I'm also going to try & start reading the Hammer of Olympia novel tomorrow.  It been a pretty chaotic month.

Almost got my 1850pts Dark mechanicus force finish.  Just want to get them up to that level before 8th ed is release, just know all current armies I've got right now are up to gaming ready.  Also because they've waited two year finial get finish, much like my Chaos Guards two year ago & using Call of Chaos to finial get them up & ready for games.

Deflier, just started painting the model yesterday.  As always, bring updated version of models I use to have in past era of my Iron Warriors.  I use to have a few Deflier when they where originally release during the originally 13th Black Crusade world wide campaign.

Other than that it just a few other models need to get finish.  Was keeping some a side for ETL before the annoucment.  Just need to get Rhino sorted for my current unit of Havocs.  Look like getting a Basilisk, again bring back updated version carry on the glory & history in future games & something wanted try add for a little while.

Rules for a Chaos Leviathan Dreadnought, preview what we will see with the Forge World rules for 8th ed Warhammer 40,000.  I know I've been wanting to try add one since see the model preview that the Warhammer 40,000 open day event that Warhammer World back 2015.  Maybe something for Call of Chaos that the end of this year :D  Maybe transported with a Dreadclaw............

Does anyone have pictures of Pete Haines' Iron within, Iron without article in White Dwarf #273 from October 2002? More specifically, the fluff he wrote about his Twelfth Great Compay led by the ex-Thousand Son techmarine Murchad Kite? I have the magazine in my own language but that's practically useless when I want to quote it on English forums such as this one.

With 8th ed this weekend.  Any fellow Iron Warriors hobbiest got any plans?  Gaming or adding new models.  Any of the new rules or update made you want to add any new models??

I'm currently just getting few models added.

 

• Standard bearer for my Terminators, to carry Lord Narach banner.  Going to have a list of campaign on the back, base on once from the background (FW, Traitor Legion & BL novels) along side once I've taken part in gaming wise, like Warhammer World event back in March, Medusa V & soon Fate of Konor.
   
• Adding another Battle brother to my Havocs, after seen, match play I had 14pts spare.
   
• Hopeful have my first game this weekend.

Then I've just spent yesterday & today, finial building this Rhino transport I've had since Christmas, for that unit of Havocs.

Havoc launcher in case I've got the points for it or if I got power level.  I'm more than happy to use any of the three ways of gaming with the new 8th ed game.  I think there all looking great.  For me, having a fun game & useing cool models is way more important.

How did you attach that to the rhino?

 

I bought the bitz, I have the rhino, but haven't a clue where to start attaching the two. Any pics of the bottom, Insane Psycopath?

I use the part you attach the Dozer blade to, from the Imperial Guard tank range.  But you need to cut the circle parts on the front in half.  While the top part, you need to add plastic tubes & then green stuff the part join the Rhino due to the angle there that.

 

​I though Havoc launcher was maybe d6 with template now removed??

For myself, I have:

Lord on bike with fist-claws, but this loadout may change when 8th drops

5 Bikers with X2 plasmas and champ with a fist (champ will look like Abraham from the walking dead)

6 Chosen with plasmas and a power sword

5 havocs with plasmas and meltas

10 CSM that need to be built

2 Rhinos that need to be built

1 Daemon Prince using a Dreadknight as the base. I have it made, but now I need to figure where to shave, snip, trim down and sculpt to make it a Chaos being.

 

All of this was being saved for the ETL but I'm kind of glad it isn't happening. I have enough going on with my Dark Eldar in the Gilgamesh forum.

Dude, IP, you sure can paint. I really have a lot of respect for your technique, because you are fast and the miniatures look dirtied up. Looking great Exessus.  Once I've work out a idea for my Chaos bastion conversion, I will make a vow for this.  Also try included the Forgefiend & Helbrute I've got sitting in a box that the moment.

 

Though I show a few more recent WIP

 

• The Havocs Rhino almost finish.  Just need to go back & add bit more blood for the blood god.  As well as paint the Bloodletter trophy, the weekend been really chaotic.  So hopeful get some time set aside for that.

   

• Bit of work painted onto the new Terminator standard bearer.  Couldn't get to much done today due to min heat wave though out today :(  Got the transfer sheet on it way.  Just as said on the back of the banner I want the list of campaign from the background & once I've taken part in gaming wise.

   

• New Battle Brother for the recent unit of Havocs I've been useing.  Just had pts left over in the list I recently made for 8th ed & though be cooler to model another memeber for the unit of Havocs.  Just need to add green stuff to the base& then sand.  Try get him all ready for my 8th ed game in a few days time

   

• Glass with IW icon.  My friend was back in the UK for a two week, to see family & friends.  Turn out they made me this, but they forgot to drop it off during the first week when we got a game & catch up, they moved to the USA in 2014.  It just arrive in the post today & though it was really cool.

I'm also going to try build the Skull Keep tomorrow & try get some idea how to make it look more & fit the Warhammer 40,000 look.

I also pick up the Age of Sigmar Chaos Dreadhold Keep.  I'm going to converted this into a Chaos bastion for my Iron Warriors.  This has been something I was planning since last year, but it been put off for one reason or another.

But now time to get this done.  Every Iron Warrior hobbiest need fortifaction terrain in there collection, along side Vindicators.

 

Not quite sure what I'm going to do, again just need the time to focuse & get some idea, get some research done.  Sadly the new Banner bearer for my Terminators drop, with the axe & banner breaking off, so just gotten him glue when photo was taken & adding liquid green stuff after this was taken.

Just a quick note

 

So I use photobucket a lot while I've been posting on here & other 40k related forum over the years.  It was easy to use & just quick to get those photos up loaded.

 

But recently, photobucket has change there terms.  Pretty much, your not able to link any image onto "3rd party" web site, like here, forums & so much more.  Unless you are willing to pay $399.99 for the plus 500 membership.  This is the only ​way now to post those image.  I'm not going to pay that, why should I after what been done.

 

Anyway I'm going to try look into other site for up load photos.  Once I do, I will get the image back on the front page & any other community page I've also done this for.

​While for my own Iron Warriors & other hobby related stuff going to current get updated on my own facebook page.

​I just had a great game against my friend Necrons yesterday.  Really enjoy the new rules.  I've got a lot of events I'm aim on attending over the next few months now & the new rules got me looking forward to all them more than last year with 7th ed (deathstar list where destroying the local event for me).

 

I'm really looking forward to my game next week which will be using the Bunker assault mission.  I'm also going to bring my Daemon prince, Warsmith Abhorred Riddick back as part of my list now.

I have dusted off my Iron Warriors and started work on reinforcements.. It may even be time to build the Warsmith Uveron model. (No idea what thats going to be just yet)

I have played one game against necrons and won quite well. I used Terminators, Oblitorators and Raptors to deep strike into the Necron Lines, as a Unit of Havocs, and a Land raider sat on my objective. The Center of the table was held by a unit of Marines and a Helbrute, The Army worked well large table presence and I was able to secure lots of objectives and have the amour to be able to hold them as I focused fire on the Necrons one unit at a time!
