What time I would definitely like a game.

 

 

Its for 12, so maybe 330, 4?

 

Sounds good, hopefully the stores AoS event at 1300 wont be a problem. I'll call to reserve a table today.

They look great skimask! I'm not much a fan of mk3 PA but you're making it grow on me for sure. Excited for the terminators!

 

Yea at first I wasn't too keen on the idea of mkIII for either terror marines or Night Lords in general, but I had a ton of it on hand. The terror markings really do a lot to make it appealing IMO

I'm a huge fan of gribblyness ;)

After the studs on their pteruges I won't have a lot left to paint, I might go back to my original terminator character and improve on some parts like adding some blood effects and redoing his face.

 

Really excited to get paid and get some chaos black and super glue to continue with my other stuff :tongue.:

 

Also I should be getting 30 BaC marines on the weekend, so look forward to some Tacs/Vets being painted up. They're probably going to be a bit less impressive as there's way less trim and terror markings compared to my terror marines

So a little update. I did indeed go back to the terminator praetor to update him a bit. The head is largely the same, possibly lighter than the last version, I highlighted a bunch of the bronze as I apparently hadn't done that, as well as the feet getting blinged and the studs on the leather. I did some blood up the one side of his leg like he curb stomped some unlucky victim and it sprayed, as well as adding some blood to the skull and chain and head to make them look fresh. I tried to add some stark highlight to the sword's edge....which turned into me redoing it....again. Finally I also tweaked his volkite to match the rest of them and clean it up a bit.

I also went back to my terminators and detailed them too; I added Night Lord symbols to their left knee and did the powerfist guys' bolters from blue to bronze.

The bronze is super easy: 

Warplock Bronze basecoat

Sicorax Bronze layer

Agrax Earthshade wash

Sicorax Bronze layer

 

The purple power weapon looks awesome

 

Ha thank you, its actually a giant pain in the ass every time I mess a part of it up as I basically have to redo the entire thing, which sucks when you have no wet pallet :P

So a few posts back I said something along the lines of "I won't have much left to paint". Wrong. I've pent a good amount of hours adding details on models that hadn't gotten some love in a while, most being vehicles. 

 

First off is my Lucius Pod where I added some blood to it; its coming down, hitting civilians fleeing from the main force and then as more people are fleeing through it, are killed traversing it.

Next was the occupant, my contemptor. Now I feel like I've posted a whole lot of picture of this guy already, but I did do a good amount of work on him. I highlighted the lightning (and added more), added bronze work around the top of the model and did some freehand (freehand needs cleaning up but thats what happens when you have no black paint, will probably switch the tails on the X to other sides).

The sicaran also got a lot love, with an update to its weathering and some blood treatment too. Now it is pretty hard to see the detail but basically I lined the thing with typhus corrosion my buddy let me use and added black behind the bare metal on the weathering. I also updated the tracks to match the Spartan's

So Ive had these old raptors for a while and have started painting one of them now, only problem is my lack of black and silver paint, black wash and glue. This means I just have the main body painted right now, but I need help on the scheme for this one.

As you can see there's a lotttttt of red and bronze; while I do like the bronze, I'm thinking of making the red tabard black when I get the paint. I'm thinking maybe once I do that, the blood effects will pop more. Really appreciate some suggestions on this one :)

...might be too much if you already have Curze.

 

I thought of that but unfortunately the amount of fabric and the flow of it is off :(

 

I actually wonder if maybe a dark brown color wouldn't be a nice look too.

 

Interesting, I'll think about it, but the only dark brown I use is for leather and the flow is off for that

Still haven't figured out the tabard, but I did finish a second raptor and the freehand on the Dread.

 

 
 
Changed the look a bit and wish the freehand could have been a tad more crisp, but it was frustrating enough already with the bolts getting in the way. Other than that I thought it was cool, nox means night in latin, but also was how the romans renamed the Greek primoridal goddess of night Nyx. The dread has been pretty godly so I think it's appropriate ;)

Raptor was super cool too, its the first time I painted the older metal versions and they have a ton of character; this guy even came with flayed skin! I made his eyes bleeding ala Bleeding Eyes/Lucoryphus. Original, I know.
