Sorry, Epic is just an special and delicate spot for me...

EPIC HH would be the ultimate Warhammer Game for me!

I'm also an "Imperial Fists enjoyer" since that IF Space Marines vs Orks Battle Report in a mid 90s White Dwarf and I like your Streams.

I really think the HH BFG rumours have always been wishlisting as most other systems from SG have gone with the 30k setting to save on sprues. I think it would definitely be an even worse choice than epic 30k given how the original cruiser sprues so cleverly covered half the fleets in one small frame and it would eliminate the difference between Chaos, Mech, Marine and Navy fleets with them all being together in one list.

Cant lie that i would love a complete set of the various Glorianas though, even in resin. Though i think most of them have cool ass 3d print versions out there already.

Given how GW released Warcry with like 12 different chaos barbarian warbands you can't help but wonder, I don't mind Warcry exists, but if you can release that many flavours of barbarians is 40k AT/BF really that big of a gamble?
Not like you'd need multiple options for something like GSC. Imperials, Chaos, Orks, Eldar and you are good to go, more can come later.

I also think it a poor excuse. And anything set in the 40k universe would outsell anything AoS or HH by a considerable margin. I think it is more a matter of overall manufacturing and logistical issues that stop them from doing 40k Epic and BFG.

Yeah i think they are often a bit half hearted with specialist game releases compared to the box game studio, well, i think that internal structure has shifted a bit recently but the point stands. Some combination of worrying about sales cannibalisation and lack of faith quite often holds them back in various ways. Except Necromunda :P though to be fair even that had a fairly rocky launch i think.

I think Blood Bowl fared quite well, might not get new teams constantly but then again, I don't think it needed it.

Some debate I've seen regarding Epic does talk about fear of cannibalising sales from 40k (for some odd reason, i don't believe it for a second). Over on Dakka someone said they'd believe more that the Old World would come out first over Epic (reasoning I believe was so that OW would take sales away from AoS 4th edition, and so that Epic wouldn't take away from 10th).

Blood bowl definitely did well (As did Necromunda once they got enough gangs out) and made plastics for the other games possible. It also had the advantage of supporting all the old teams well from the off though, even if they didnt get new teams right away and that kept all the old players, or new players wanting something different happy.

Its hard to say if AT would dissappear completely. The best option would to have it be part of epic for people who wish to only do Titans and Knights. How they would accomplish this though is something I don't know at this point. We often get rumours from 40k playtesters, but for Epic (a game rumoured to be out this year) we don't have anything, so no clue on how the game will play.

Do they even have out of house playtesters anymore

Reading the reviews of the campaign compendium, and the AT Strats PDF that dropped on Friday, without rewriting the strats to match the existing FAQs on those strats, I'm not even convinced they have people who play AT IN house.

This is probably the best news I've heard hobby wise this year. I will absolutely buy this game. Something about the scale is just so awesome and I already have a whole bunch of titans :D

Let's see when it materialises first. I believe its being made but its the matter of when we'll all get our mitts on it.

Battlefleet Gothic should not be a Heresy game.

Undeniably true in that the Gothic War happened a very long time after the Heresy.

In terms of bringing the game back to the tabletop, I think the Heresy is a perfect starting point. Only loyalist and traitor fleets ever got plastic support in the original anyway, and they could quite easily expand from 30k to 40k in the future.

I can see it mostly being boxes

Eg starter box is marines v marines

Then guard box (their tanks would be popular)

Ork box etc

Maybe versus boxes with 2 armies and cards

As mentioned many Times, it looks like (based on the rumors) that it will be set in the HH.

Wouldn't expect any Orks for this setting.
